Yvette got a block on the phone so we back on good terms and right now I'm sitting outside of Yvette's job, I wait for her to come out when some girls walk out.
"Wassup Jodie". One of her coworkers said switching hard.
"What's going on with you". I say as she passed by the car.
"I need some new boots man". She said and I lean out of the car a little bit.
"I got you covered girl, gator allat". I said smiling at her.
"Alright". She said walking to her car.
Yvette hit the hood of the car with her purse staring at me. Slapping my arm I look over at her to see her mugging me.
"Why you yakin' yo mouth and talking shit". She asked looking at me.
"Baby I was just trynna make us some money man you always complain but when the money come in you never complain though right". I said starting the car up.
"Don't get cute". She said as I pulled off.
"Any way where you trying to go". I ask looking over at her.
"Drop me off at Sharika's house she need me to help her with something". She said and I nodded.
Stopping in front of the house she grabs her purse and opens the door.
"When you want me to pick you up". I ask before she got out of the car.
"4:30 and pick up JoJo". She said before getting out and closing the door.
Waiting till she got in the house I pull off when she steps in.
Being brought into a hug I rub her back before pulling away.
"What did you need my help with". I asked placing my purse on her table.
"I can't braid the back of my head do you think you could do it for me". She asked and I nodded.

Walking over to where it looked like she was sitting I grab the hair and start working on the back of her head.
"How has JoJo been". She asked as I tilt her head down.
"Good, he's mostly been at school or over Jodie's mama's house how you been". I ask finishing up the braid before picking up another piece of hair.
"Good but Chris been tripping about nothing". She said and I shook my head.
"And you're still with him because". I ask redoing the braid I started.
"And you're still with Jodie because". She asked causing us to laugh.
"You got a point". I said gripping a piece of her hair.
As we were talking about work the front door slammed open causing us to jump.
"Where you at bitch". I heard Chris say causing me to raise my eyebrows.
"Bitch". I asked looking at her and she shakes her head.
"It's okay girl chill". She said as he walked in.
"Okay". I said continuing to braid her hair.
"Why the fuck niggas tell me they say you talking to that nigga Roscoe outside the store today". He asked walking over snatching her out of the chair.
"Hold on Chris not too much". I said pushing him back.
"Yo Yvette stay yo ass back". He said pushing me and pointing in my face.
"How about you stay yo ass back this my best friend and I'm not gone let you put yo hands on her in front of me". I said mugging him and he grabbed her again.
Grabbing her other arm I yank her towards me and this time he pushes me harder and I fell dragging Sharika with me.
"You done fucked up now". I said pulling out my phone texting my cousin that stays a few doors down.

"Fuck you gone do bitch". He said trying to walk up on me but Sharika pushes him.
"Do what you want to me but don't you fucking touch her". She said standing in front of me giving me time to stand up.
"Bitch". He said backhanding her and she fell to the ground holding her face.
Hearing banging on the door I run over and open the door.
"Where that nigga at". He asked walking in and I point to the living room.
"He put his hands on you". He asked looking down at me.
"He pushed me twice". I said and he nodded walking past me.
Following behind him he didn't even say anything he just started beating his ass.
Although I wouldn't mind him beating his ass some more I had to stop him.
"Ray stop he's had enough let's go". I said and he got off of him breathing heavily.
"Sharika I'll call you". I said grabbing my purse following my cousin out of the house.
Pulling out my phone I text Jodie to pick me up from my cousin's house.
Hearing a car honk outside I look out the window and see my car.
"Ray I'm gone". I called out walking to the front door.
"Alright Cuzzo". He said from the back and I walk out to the car getting in.
"Hey, JoJo". I said as soon as I got into the car.
"Why you ask me to pick you up so early". Jodie asked pulling off.
"Chris was acting crazy". I said making it short.
"What you mean crazy, that night put his hands on you". He asked looking between me and the road.
"He just pushed me but Ray handled it". I said and he nodded
"JoJo you want to make cupcakes when we get home baby". I ask looking at him through the rearview mirror.
"YEAH". He yelled causing me to laugh.
Getting out of the car we walk up the stairs and I unlock the door walking in.
"Go put your stuff up and come on so we can get started". I said to JoJo and he nodded running off to the back.
Grabbing the ingredients out of the cabinets JoJo came running in.
"Let's get started". I said smiling at him and Jodie.
I needed this quality time with my son after today...

Meaning: The End of the Starless Century
Magic was once a reality of everyday life, shaping the lives of the gifted and ungifted alike since the dawn of humanity. That all changed in the fires of World War I. Seeking to avoid catastrophe, humanity’s leaders enacted the Masquerade Order and segregated the magical community while also forming The Congregation to enforce the separation. As time passed, the awesome power of magic was forgotten by the world outside. This held true for a little over a century, but things begin to change when three individuals intersect in the peaceful town of Ithaca, New York. Noelle Sellers, a newly minted policewoman searching for her place in the world. Levi Wright, a mage living in Ithaca who is far more than he lets on. Lorelei Himmel, a juvenile witch in hiding out of fear of what people would do to her, and what she may do to them. As forces slithering in the darkness emerge from the murky depths of the world, the timeless battle for magic and for the future itself begins once again. 8 150The BLOODLANDS
The story follows a young lord in which a middle-aged man reincarnated into the body and gets a second chance at using the knowledge he learns from reading in his past life. No longer bound to the world of his library and university but in a world in which if he failed not only his death but the death of others are in his hands. This concept of the book came about from having two mild heart attacks and the regrets of not being more active in my younger life. Note: The cover of the book is from a painting of Richard the Lionheart at the Battle of Arsuf (1191) during the Third Crusade where he defeated Saladin. Painting by Gustave Doré (19th century).
8 111What Lies In Between
Earth is on the tail end of its recovery after suffering near-apocalyptic events. Catastrophic storms and sudden, dramatic shifts of the tectonic plates almost destroyed modern society. And to make matters worse, a mysterious disease that would later become known as the Deep Sleep Syndrome swept through the population. Penthus Argyris is one such person affected by this illness. Abandoned by his mother—his last living relative—he wastes away in a hospital ward. It was lonely, but Pent had grown used to it. He no longer dreamed of traveling across the earth to explore the ruins of the fallen nations; the world outside his sterile white cage was all but a distant fantasy. Pent had all but come to terms with his lot in life—that is until his adopted cousin showed up out of the blue with some surprising news… News that would shake the tentative foundation that Humanity had only just managed to piece together.
