window. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations, opportunities and new beginnings. The chorus of melodic birdsong drifted in, waking both of the occupants of the room. Opening her bleary eyes, Y/N groaned as she tried to focus her sight.

She was about to rub her eyelids that itched when she realised a strong arm wrapped around her. The girl gasped and clutched her mouth as she looked at the drowsing viscount next to her.

Struggling to remove his arm on her waist, the boy shifted in his sleep. It was enough to wake him up, groaning. "What are you doing?", he asked in a raspy morning voice that she somehow found...attractive.

'uhh...' she thought. L/N quickly pushed his hand away and untangled her legs that were wrapped around him as well. She abruptly stood up from the bed and cleared her throat. "Get up. It's time to start our plans for today," she said in a demanding voice.

Tewkesbury groaned and closed his eyes, rubbing them. Once he was done with that, he stared at her. The girl cocked an eyebrow, "What are you looking at?", she asked.

His eyes were wide open. The Marquess tried his best to refrain from laughing or even panic when he pointed something on her hair. Y/N then felt a few gentle movements on her hair and there she saw...

"Spider!", she shouted and used her hands to flick it away. She jumped with all the energy she's got and rushed to the boy who was just laughing at her hilarious reaction. The girl was quick to find her knife, throwing it.

"You missed again."

"I told you I only miss when I mean to." Y/N said. "You think I have the heart to kill that hand-sized creature?", she asked. The boy chuckled.

"Then I must say you're really good with knives," he said. She sighed and pursed her lips. "Not to be cocky, but yes, I am. I don't function the same without them. Now, we didn't wake up to talk about spiders and knives. We have a lot to do. So, let's carry on!"

"Are you ready?" Y/N asked the Viscount who stood straight in front of the flower stall as the girl fixed her blazer. "Don't glare. Selling flowers doesn't require a bad attitude, you Nitwit." She said, Tewkesbury fixed his facial expression. "Okay. Now, smile until your muscles tire," he did what he was told.

"Is this good?" He asked, grinning.

"That's one scary smile. Maybe smile just slightly and show those captivating features," she said. He laughed. "You basically just called me captivating." He said.

The girl blushed. She then rolled her eyes, ignoring his comment. "Just — hold on. There's a loose . . . " Y/N licked her lips and tiptoed, fixing the young man's hair.

The boy couldn't let out a breath when he noticed how close the girl was. His breath hitched as his ears turned pink. Looking at her eyes, he felt stunned. 'Pretty,' he thought.

"That's better!" L/N exclaimed and went back to her normal posture. She then noticed how the boy was looking. She gazed at him as well, then said, "Are you okay?"

With that, Tewkesbury snapped back to reality and shook his head. "I — I'm fine. I'm just — nervous," he stammered. The girl shrugged.

"You can do this! I'll be on the other side of the stall. Make sure you recommend the bouquet of flowers to those indecisive ones," she said. He nodded.

And there they started with the second step of their plans. Though, Y/N's plan isn't working very well. Night came and no one really noticed the meaning of the flowers they sold.

The girl slowly walked in the room she's sharing with the boy who patted her back and smiled sympathetically. She smiled back and sat on the foot of the bed.

"That's surprising. You're really quiet today," he said. Y/N glared at him. "Look, this is your first day. Who knows? Maybe someone will notice tomorrow and decide to help you." Tewkesbury comforted, sitting next to her.

"It's just — I was excited for this and I was really bringing it. I just look pathetic and believe me when I say this is really embarrassing right now." L/N said.

Tewkesbury sighed and turned to her. "Don't worry about it. It's not pathetic neither is it embarrassing." He said.

"Sometimes I think I should have just stayed at home. That I never should have left home," she said. When she turned to the boy next to her, he couldn't help but notice her glossy eyes and red puffy nose.

"Don't cry, L/N. I never thought you would ever let me see this vulnerable state of you. You have all the time in your life to kick off your plans."

"Need I remind you, Viscount Tewkesbury, we're being tracked by our own family to get us back to make us live a life in a way that we don't like. If I don't come up with something or if I don't stop being an idiot, I will get it done by now."

"That's quite enough. Listen here and listen good," he said, grabbing the girl by the shoulders and making her face him gently. "Like I said, this is just the first day. You're not failing. You're progressing. Don't degrade yourself for something as stupid as this. You're a remarkable woman. You're unique and clever. You dared to fall on a rose bush full of thorns just to get away and fight for something so inspiring yet you're calling yourself an idiot? Don't do this to yourself, L/N."

"You speak like my mother," she joked, making them laugh slightly. She then wiped her tears. "Thank you." She breathed out.

The girl moved to pull him in a warm embrace. "Don't let this get to your head or take this the wrong way, but I wish you ran away from home long ago," she mumbled.

Tewkesbury scoffed. Y/N then pulled away. Staring at each other made the room's temperature increase to an impossible degree. Their cheeks were hot and flustered from all of that. "Your face is red," the girl in the pink dress pointed out.

"Really? Yours is as well." The boy replied. They both laughed. Y/N tugged a smile and looked away. "I have to do something."

Standing up, she glanced at their intertwined fingers they really didn't notice before. L/N pulled her hand away and gave him one last glance that made his heart flutter.

Oh, how easily he gives in to his feelings.
