《Whistleblower ✓》the big announcement

Dear friends,
I started outlining this book in April of 2018. At the time, I was unemployed, battling some pretty severe anxiety (still working on that), and hadn't written anything in months. Writing terrified me. Starting a book post-graduation meant taking hours I could've spent on job applications and putting them towards something that might not turn into anything.
But I'm so glad I took that chance. And I'm so glad I picked this story.
It has been SO HARD keeping this a secret. Absolute torture. Like being given a handful of confetti and then told you've gotta wait half a year to throw it in the air. Or watching readers comment that they hope they see this book in stores one day and not being able to tell them to mark their calendars.
I love this book so deeply. I love Laurel and Bodie and Hanna and Andre and Ellison.
More than anything, I've loved sharing them with you.
I didn't realize how therapeutic and empowering it would be to write this story. College was a really great time for me. I got really good at making mixed drinks and doing my make-up and starting papers exactly 24 hours before they were due. I made friends. I kissed boys. I gave a speech in front of sixty people and nailed it, then cried in a public bathroom because I never thought I would be the kind of person who could stand up in front of an audience and talk. I graduated magna cum laude. I had a phenomenal time.
But I also have a lot of residual frustration and anger from college. There were times I felt invisible and voiceless. USC is a big, wealthy pond full of big, wealthy fish—and sometimes those fish are assholes with nice cars.

Money is power. But words are power, too.
This book means the world to me. Your support means the world to me. Thank you for reading my hot mess of a first draft. I hope you'll love my final draft just as much.
We're still a long way out from the release date (also known as the day everyone at my local Barnes & Noble gets to witness me ugly-cry as I cradle my book like a newborn child) but I'll be updating you all as I sail through the dark and treacherous seas of editing (shout out to Deanna, my editor, and Monica, my very patient talent manager) and do fun author-y things (like writing loglines and having your mom take your headshots in the backyard while your dumbass cat keeps walking across your ~natural~ backdrop).
Thank you. A million times over.
Your friendly author,
Kate

The Warden
Nora, a delinquent and truant, works part time for one of the best kept secrets in the multiverse: the Wardens, an interdimensional agency responsible for keeping people from wandering too far from their home realms. Adam lives a happy life on Earth with a loving family where his biggest problem comes in the form of his mysterious classmate, and sometimes friend, Nora. When the two wind up stranded in an impossibly distant realm along with their entire class, they must both do their part to not only find a way home, but to find a way to protect themselves and their peers from an uncertain threat. Unbeknownst to them, danger lurks in all corners, and as they find themselves swept up into the world of interdimensional politics, they may find that the decisions they make will warp the very fabric of the multiverse. Will update twice weekly unless otherwise stated. Please, comment and criticize extensively.

Of Righteous Evil
To wield the magical Arts. The power to manipulate nature itself. Follow Silas on his journey as he learns what it means to be a Mage. With war brewing on the horizon, Silas' plan to become a hero clashes with the harsh reality of conflict. Torn between contradicting emotions, he will have to reconsider his perceptions of both good and evil. Does the end truly never justify the means? Note from author (13.09.20): Sentences have been shortened, less commata used. Paragraphs have been split up. Meant to be "realistic" fantasy, with no overpowered protagonist or evil sorcerer trying to destroy the world. The focus lies on the characters, their progressions and their inner conflicts, coupled with an intricate magic system. Constructive criticism is highly appreciated! HIATUS Updates: 12.12.20 Chapter 1 & 2 are written together. The backstory of the parents will be integrated into one of the later chapters. 20.12.20 Prologue has been rewritten, fight added. Will now continue writing the chapters until the first arch is finished. 19.01.21 Chapter 15 is written. Will hopefully be able to write more from now on, university has been kinda rough these days. 08.04.21 Chapter 16 & 17 has been written. Beginning will be rewritten (again) to start with chapter 3. Chapter 1 & 2 will be shown through reocurring dreams / nightmares. 10.08.21 Rewriting of the first arc is complete and has been proofread twice. Plot of rest of book one is 80% complete. Will publish chapters once first book is finished and proofread. 06.12.21 Second arc is finished (chapter 24/31-33). First draft will likely be finished around February, after which I will edit a few suggestions of my beta readers and publish it on RR. Release schedule: Once a week on Sunday, chapters are around 3000 words long. (HIATUS, see last chapter for more info) Cover art by Riverman09

Tales of the Willful Autonomous Nanobot Generator
Due to over-engineering and poor parenting; a nanobot generator is sent into the wider universe, ready to solve any and all problems...though probably not the way that was intended, or even hoped for. This story is a first time attempt to use a literary device I came up with, where I use 4 randomly selected songs to write short stories. As such there really won't be any cohesive story thread between chapters. If this gets traction, the likelihood for reader polls to influence the next story are high.
