《Where Did The Little Rock-Star Go? (GXG)》Chapter 9

(Devon's POV)

I walk into the lounge, early in the morning. We had a concert yesterday- and let's just say it was successful.

I yawn and stretch as I collapse on the couch. Nobody is up, except me.

Alex is still with Jamie, which is upsetting. But I swear Jamie is up to something- like she's cheating on Alex or something. She's on her phone 24/7 and she never pays attention to Alex.

If Alex was mine, I'd give her the world. I'd give her everything I could. I'd compliment her everyday, snuggle and cuddle with her. I'll even cut rehearsal's for her. I love her with all of my heart- meanwhile Jamie is being a fuck boy- or fuck girl? I don't know.

I put my feet up in the air, not doing anything. I start dancing on the couch, not knowing if anyone can see me. I do a ridiculous jig.

"Uh, morning?" I stop dancing and turn around to see Skylar, with a grin on her face.

"Morning." I mumble with a small blush on my face. I sigh and sit back down on the couch. "Can I ask you something?"

"You just did, but go ahead." Skylar smirks at me. She sits down next to me, waiting for me to say something.

"Do you think Jamie is using Alex?"

Skylar doesn't seem shocked by my question. It's like she's been waiting for me to ask this question for awhile now.

"Honestly," Skylar sighs. "Yes."

"She's always on her phone and doesn't pay attention to her, it gets on my nerves." I admit.

"Do you think she's uh..sexting?" Skylar questions.

"I've had my thoughts." I sigh, looking down.

Skylar goes quiet as we get caught up in our own thoughts.

It would make since, though. Why Jamie is always on her phone, always smiling at it. It's like she's texting someone on the A-List.

"Good morning." Alex comes in, snapping both Skylar and I from our thoughts.

"Morning!" I smile at her. Alex smiles back at me, heading into the kitchen.

"You still love her." Skylar mumbles.

"Always have, always will."

Alex comes back in with a cup of coffee. She sits on the right of me, as Skylar is on my left. We sit in silence, the only sound is Alex occasionally sipping her coffee.

Jamie then comes in, with her phone- of course. She's texting someone while smiling. I roll my eyes at her, which goes noticed by Alex, who raises an eyebrow at me.

Alex gets up, setting her coffee down. She walks over to Jamie, sitting down next to her. I bite my lip and lean back, watching the two.

"Morning." Alex greets her, kissing her on the cheek.

"Not right now, Alex." Jamie mumbles.

A flash of pain crosses through her eyes. And what the hell? 'Not right now'. She's definitely doing something.

"All I said was morning." Alex defends herself.

"I'm busy!" Jamie snaps. Alex looks taken back as Jamie continues to text on her phone.

Alex doesn't deserve this.

My fists clench in anger, along with my jaw. I get up, walking over to Jamie. I quickly grab her phone, snatching it out of her hands.

"What the fuck! Give it back!" Jamie shouts.

Before she can do anything, I'm scrolling through her phone.

"Wow," I shake my head. "You're some type of girlfriend, aren't you?"

Alex furrows her eyebrows, taking the phone into her hands. Jamie sighs, giving up as she slumps down. Tears form in Alex's eyes. Alex throws the phone on the floor, then stomping on it.

"Hey! No no no!" Jamie cries out, picking up the broken phone.

"You're a douche, Jamie." I scoff as Alex storms out of the room. I follow her as she climbs into her bunk.

She leaves the curtain door open, I'm guessing for me to follow. I climb up, sitting next to her. I quickly wrap my arms around her as she buries her head into my shoulder.

"I don't know why I'm crying," Alex dryly laughs. "I already saw it coming. I don't even love her, so why does it hurt?"

"It hurts because you got used, Alex. She took you for granted. She's an idiot for letting someone like you go. It's her lost, not yours. And, even though we know it's coming, we're not prepared for how it feels." I tell her, rubbing her back comforting.

"How long do you think she's been doing this? All 3 years?" Alex asks me.

"I don't know." I sigh.

Alex looks up into my blue eyes, as I stare into her hazel eyes.

"Can-can I kiss you?" Alex hesitantly asks.

"As much as I want to kiss you, Alex. I can't. You're hurt right now." I tell her truthfully.

Alex nods understandingly as she sighs.

"Can we stay here and cuddle?" Alex asks, resting her head on my shoulder.

"Of course."

I bring the screen down, looking through the DVDs we have.

"What do you want to watch?" I ask her.

"Big Hero 6." Alex smiles at me.

I silently laugh at her inner-child. I put the movie in, now relaxing. Alex wraps her arms around my right arm, leaning on it. I kiss the top of her head, making a grin form on her face. I wipe her tears away with my free hand as the movie starts.

I start playing with strands of her hair, watching her fight to stay awake.

"Go to sleep," I mumble. "I'll be here when you wake up, I promise."

At that, Alex closes her eyes. I try to watch the movie, but my eyes stay on her, watching her sleep. Some of her long brown hair is in between my fingers, twirling it around. Her chest is moving up and down slowly as she sleeps.

The only light in the bunk is from the screen playing the movie- which I'm not paying attention to.

I sigh and rest my head on hers, closing my eyes as I slowly drift asleep.
