《Silver》25

Ethan's POV
As soon as the conference was over I made my way straight to the elevator. I haven't been able to take Aiddan home and I felt guilty. So now all I wanted was to get home and make it up to him. Maybe have our first official family night.
About half an hour later I was pulling into my driveway and parking the car. Getting out of it I noticed that there was another car in my driveway. I'm assuming it is Ashton, Silver's twin brother. He must have stayed a little while to catch up with her.
Walking into the house the first thing that struck me was the silence. Normally Aiddan would be running all around or at least watching a movie. But today there wasn't anything. Hurriedly, I rush up the stairs to Aiddan's room but find him asleep under his covers. Kissing him on his forehead I turn into the hallway and close the door. Making my way to the living room I hear hushed voices arguing. Following the noise I find myself in the kitchen.
Startled, I watch as Silver is mixing something in a bowl and Ashton is turning towards me.
"Ethan." he greets solemnly, nodding towards me.
"Why do you guys look so uneasy?" I questioned as I watched their stiffened posture.
"Because, there's something you need to read." Ashton replied rushing as Siver opened her mouth to speak.
Looking at her in confusion I see her pull out a piece of paper from her pocket. Grabbing it from her outstretched hand, I began to worry.
Is it a paternity test on Aiddan? Is he not mine? Perhaps Silver is already married? Wait. That one didn't make any sense because before she was hired I had a background check run to her.
Curiously I open it and start reading.
Dear Silver,
I see that you ignored my last message. So this time I am going to write.

No matter where you are. No matter who you are with, you will be mine. I WILL have you. You are mine, my dear. And there is nothing you can do to change that. Ever since I first saw you, you were all I thought about.
You have kept me up day and night. Hours on end. Thinking about what it would be like in our future. But know you have tried to ruin that. By moving in with him. And having HIS child.
You have made a grave mistake. And I promise you will regret it. You shall only be with ME. Have MY children. Be touched, loved, and seen, by nobody but ME.
And if you forget this my love. Your son will pay dearly for that. He's what? Almost four now? And he has cancer. It sure would be a shame if something were to happen to him.
Leave Ethan Winthrope and all will be fine. For now. And when the time is right, I will make myself known.
Sincerely,
G. V.
Relief flooded me as the knowledge that it wasn't a DNA test passed through my mind. But just as quickly I was filled with rage. How dare someone threaten to harm my son? Or my women? I will have his head.
Shaking with anger I slam the paper on the counter. Immediately I regret it as I see Silver flinch. "Do you know who he is?" I demanded growling out the words.
"No." She whispered, looking away from me.
"Don't worry." I say as I move around the counter and pull her against my side. "Nobody is going to lay a hand on you guys. I'll make sure of it."
After I kissed her on the forehead quickly I motioned for Ashton to follow me into the living room. Following me he sits opposite of me.

"Do you have any idea who this could be?" I questioned as I tugged a hand through my hair.
"Not a clue." he sighed in agitation. "But I will do whatever it takes to help you and my sister. Nobody is going to threaten my family and live to tell the tale."
"Exactly what I was thinking." I comment before pulling my phone out. "I'm going to need to call a private investigator and see if they can find anything on this G. V. guy."
"While you do that I'm going to set up some security for Silver and Aiddan." he agreed, nodding his head and going to stand up.
"No need to hire anyone." I hand him a piece of paper. "Call this number. Ask for Marco. If you tell him that I sent you he will come here immediately. You can discuss their security details and then when I'm done with this you can clue me in later."
As soon as he left the room I dialed my P.I. After a few rings he finally answered.
"Ethan! What's the cause for your call?" Ricardo asked, sounding worried.
I never called Ricardo unless there was something immensely wrong. Like last time it was to investigate the reasons for my mother's arrival three years ago. And this time...well. My son and his mother's life's were being threatened.
"I need you to go through the life of Silver McMalorey's life with a fine tip comb and see if you come across anybody with the initials G. V. Get this back to me as soon as possible." I rush out trying to get him started as soon as possible. The fast he finds everything out the sooner my family is safe.
"Why?" he sounded confused. I mean I would like to. I just asked him to look into some girl's life and he didn't even understand how relevant she was in my life.
"She is the mother of my child and the love of my life. She is being threatened." I spoke truthfully. Wow. I just called her the love of my life. I mean, I knew I loved her. I just hadn't fully admitted it to myself let alone her. Yet here I am. Admonishing it to a guy that worked for me.
He was silent for a few moments, taking in all the information. "So this needs to be done by last week?"
"Exactly." With that he hung up on me. Presumably to get started.
Running a hand down my face in frustration. I jumped and jerked away as I felt a hand touch mine. Looking towards the source I relax as I see that it's only Silver.
"Hey." She whispered looking at me brokenly. "Ashton just left. He said to tell you he and Marco are going to meet at some Cafe."
"Ok. Thanks for telling me." I smile slightly as I wrap my arms around her waist. "We'll get through this."
"I know." she replied, kneeling down to be eye level with me. Gently she kissed my lips before pulling back to look into my eyes. "I believe in you. I believe in our family."
Smiling widely I bring my mouth back down to hers for a hungry kiss. Slowly I made my way down to her neck and I left a trail of kisses in my wake. Grabbing her by the waist I pull her into my lap and hug her to my chest.
"I'm so happy you guys are in my life." I whisper my voice filled with love and pride.
