I waited by his door once again, in casual grey sweats and a simple black shirt. I didn't bother to dress up just to see Chan. Just because I was meeting my new "friend" didn't mean I had to ruin my lazy Sunday.

"Hey Lix." Chan said as he pulled open the door. I smiled at him and took off my shoes by the door.

"How's your weekend?" I asked, making small talk.

"Fine, fine. Come on, let's go to my room."

"Chan, where are your parents?" I asked.

"Uh... I don't really know." He chuckled. "Did you eat lunch yet?"

I nodded, not wanting to intrude on his privacy.

"I have a surprise for you." He smirked as he sat down on his bed and pulled out a small box. "Gloves!" He exclaimed.

I laughed out loud, hoping that he was joking around with me. "You want to.. to touch me? With gloves? That's kinda creepy." I chuckled.

"Well? Do you think it'll work?"

"I guess... I mean, I haven't really tried." I admitted.

"What does it feel like when people touch you?" He questioned.

"Most of the time, it's like a burning sensation, and then I feel like shivering right after. It's really weird, to be honest."

"Oh." He opened his mouth to continue, but stopped himself. "Here." He tossed a pair of latex gloves at me.

"What did I tell you about throwing things?" I shook my head as I slid them onto my small hands and took a shaky breath, trying to hide my fear from Chan. I couldn't believe that it was actually happening.

"Ready?" He giggled excitedly.

"Yeah." I breathed out. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion while I stretched out my hand and stared at it.

It's gonna hurt. It's gonna hurt. It's gonna hurt, my brain warned me.

I tried to avoid that little buzz in my head begging me to pull away. It was hard to resist the voices in my head, telling me this was wrong.

"Hey, hey, look at me." Chan's chocolatey brown eyes reached mine, and for a second, the whole world just froze. I felt an extreme feeling of euphoria overwhelm me and chase that cold voice away. All that was left was the beat of our two hearts, intertwining with each other.

While I was lost in that trance, he had taken his chance and wrapped his fingers over mine. Everything unfroze when I gasped at our hands woven together.

"It worked!" Reality hit me when I realized exactly what happened. My gasp turned into a small laugh, and soon Chan began chuckling along with me.

We did it.
