Chapter Twenty One ▪︎

lexander woke up with Dahlia in his arms. She was drooling on his shirt but he couldn't care less.

He stroked her hair and after a while, she opened her eyes. Her pupils were small from sleep, making her eyes appear even more blue than they normally are.

He was in complete awe over his mate. Her full lips contrasted her small nose which he found completely and utterly adorable.

Their baby would have wonderful eyebrows, he thought.

"Good morning." She smiled sheepishly at him.

Evertyhing was so perfect. The snow surrounding them was beginning to melt because of the morning sun and soon, they would be heading to the castle.

A long time ago, he had a room built for his mate that was connected to his office which was conviniently connected to his own. He hoped she would like it.

"Good morning." He smiled down at her.

She wiped a bit of drool from her cheek and blushed when she looked at his wet t-shirt.

"Sorry about that." She mumbled.

"I don't mind." He laughed.

"What do we do now?" She asked him.

"I guess we could go to the castle."

"I guess we could."

Dahlia was amazed at the wonderful building in front of them.

The castle was tall, big and covered in snow. When Amexander mentioned a castle, she didn't think it would be an actual old-age castle.

They drove down the large bridge and went inside of the walls. It was even more beautiful up close.

When she walked in, she expected it to be empty and dust ridden. She was sruprised to find the chandeliers sparkling above their head and many servants, maids and other ranking vampires and humans bustling about.

"Why aren't they bowing to you?" She whispered to him. It was strange, everybody passed by them as if they were a normal vampire and a normal human. The strangest part was that they were still wearing pajamas and nobody seemed to even notice them.

"They don't know that I am the..." he whispered and she understood. He didn't have to fully say it fir her ti understand. I guess that's why nobody bowed down to him in the hospital either.

They continued down the halls and came to an elevator. He pressed his thumb to the panel and the doors slid open. Dahlia walked in after Alexander and he pressed the 'K' button. She had a nagging feeling it stood for 'King'.

The strangest feeling rose up her feet as she assumed the elevator was going up. After a bit of time, it made a 'ping' sound and the doors opened.

She walked out into a surprisingly modern hallway. It had cream walls and slippery beige parquet flooring. Straight ahead of them was an office, she assumed. The doors were opened and a lot of light streamed in from the large glass panel windows facing the snowy forest.

It seemed very comfortable. On both sides of it were identical doors and on the end of the right side of the hallway was a door that led to the bathroom. He guided her towards it and they walked in. She looked around it as Alexander pointed to the towels and hygenic nessesities like spare soap and toilet paper.

The bathroom was a mixture of modern and slightly vintage, as she realised the office also had some vintage elements, like the doorknobs and the lamps.

He showed her the room to the right and said it was now hers.

It was very different to her old bedroom. For instance, it had a large window to the left of it, giving light an entrance to pour in from. The whole room was basic and quite petite, but the closet was the opposite - it was huge.

It was completely empty, but she intended to fill it up as soon as possible. She loved buying clothes and fancy shoes when she was younger, when she could afford it.

Besides, she doubted it would dent Alexander's wallet. The man lived for who knows how long, he must have made a fortune.

Don't mistake her for a money savvy woman, she is anything but that. She doesn't care if what she buys is designer or expensive, she only wants to look good. She likes all clothes, not just expensive ones.

They moved on to the left room. He said it was his and she wasn't surprised to find it void of any pictures or anything to make it personal. It was just a room.

Maybe she should change that.

She has time for that, but for now she wants to sink into her gorgeous soft bed and sleep her worries away.

Before they parted ways, Alexander showed her the library at the end of the left side of the hall. It was full of shelves and Dahlia found little interest in it.

Maybe she will read a couple of them once boredom wiggles it's way in her spare time.

He led her back to her room and said that he will be in his office. She nodded and was surprised to see him walk into her room with her and leave through a secret door hidden in the wall.

"This is an emergeny exit. Under my office table is a bunker, it is sealed with magic, only you, me and my butler can go in there. If anything strange happens, immediately go in there. Do not hesitate. In there you will find a red button and the warriors will be there to protect you and inspect every corner of the room." He explained.

She nodded to him and he left.

She took off her shoes, socks and laid in bed, still wearing her pajamas from earlier. She shut the blinds on the window by pressing a button over her head but left a little bit of it open because she was scared of sleeping in a completely new room, covered in darkness.

She laid her head down and covered her legs with the duvet. She once again fell asleep, but this time she had no dreams to think about when she woke up.
