he palace was grand and luxurious. Everything about this ball was extravagant and elegant.

So were the vampires.

"Lord Hudson, you told me the ball will have all female humans!" I looked at him as he parked the car.

" It was the only way for me to convince you to go with me. I promise you that you will be safe, these are all old vampires that can control themselves. Nothing is going to happen to you, but stay by my side."

"Old vampires are the strongest." I vinced.

"But I am one of the oldest. The only older vampires are the King and Lord Luciano. Lord Luciano has found his mate, so he won't do anything to you."

"The King is coming?!" I cried out. How dumb was I to believe that a vampire ball is going to have all human females?

"He is supposed to come, but knowing him, he is going to be looking for his mate somewhere, and won't have time to come here. And even if he does, he will only talk to the Lords and royals."

"But you are a Lord!" I raised my voice slightly.

"And?" He questioned.

"He is going to talk to you." I panicked. He rolled his eyes at my remark. I probably sounded ludacris to him.

"Calm down, he probably won't even acknowledge you."

Ouchie.

After seeing my expression, he explained. "No, I didn't mean it like that. He doesn't like females, especially human females. Since almost all mateless creatures throw themselves at him, he ignores everyone. Plus, he only has eyes for one female, and that's his mate. She is still somewhere, he hasn't found her yet." He rushed.

The King has a mate?

"Yes, he does. Apparently, he felt her being born on December 20th, 3004."

"She is only 17?" I asked.

I was born on December 20th, 3004.

"Yes. The weird thing is that he never got her name on the list of female children born that day and time. 2 PM, I believe. "

Momma told me that they replaced my brother and I's genders in the papers, until they realised what they did, but a year too late. So my name was in the boy's list. And his was in the female list.

I think I am getting a bit dizzy.

"I need some air." I said as I got out the car and closed the door. As soon as we got out, cameras started taking pictures and I put my hand up to hide my face. They made a crowd around Lord Hudson and I used that as a chance to get away from him.

I took off my heels once I had speed walked further away from the lights and glamour. I walked mindlessly around and didn't even remember where I walked to.

I didn't realise that I was deep in the forest behind the palace until it was too late. I was lost.

What if a vampire finds me and drinks my blood for the fun of it?

Oh God, please help me survive this without the King being my mate or a vampire biting me.

Though, I've heard that some vampires have the ability to change what the human feels through their bite.

When a human feels pleasure, the blood tastes more delicious to them.

Like hell it would make it pleasureable.

I'd be too deep in my head, going through dad's lessons to even let him get close to me.
