"ind me all the humans that were born the day before yesterday at 7 pm." He ordered his butler Arnold, an old vampire he had turned. He was once supposed to be his slave but he didn't like the way humans took african people and turned them into slaves because of their skin tone and other ridiculous reasons. He 'bought' him and turned him into a vampire. He gave him freedom, but instead of running from him, he stuck to his side. Ever since then, he has been loyal to him without a question.

"Yes, sir." Arnold replied.

"Arnold. Look for every single female child." He added.

"Of course. Anything else?" Arnold asked.

"No. Just please hurry up." He dismissed him.

He sat on his table and looked out the big glass window towards the endlees forest of tall trees. He loved nature. It's the only thing that kept him interested.

He thought of her. She is perfect. He feels as though he knows her.

He decided to let her grow up and have a life before he takes her. Until then he'll make sure she is safe at all times. He may let her live but he will find her. A strand of hair won't fall off her head if it's the last thing he knows.

He turned around and walked to his small fridge where he kept his drinks and blood.

He wondered why humans always said that some vampires prefer certain blood groups. There is no difference in flavour between the groups, it just depends on the human and his/her life style and diet.

He took a pack of blood and decided to mix it with a bit of coca-cola. He opened the cool can of sugar that already has droplets of water on it's surface and tore open the blood bag. He took a glass and poured equal parts of them in it.

He took his suprisingly tasty drink to the window and took a sip. He closed his eyes as he thought of how her blood would taste.

Oh how he would love to bite her and mark her as his.

It's something he never thought he would do. This all feels surreal to him. The infamous King of vampires got a mate. He wouldn't be so empty now. He had a dead heart and because of her, it started beating again.

He hadn't felt his own heart beating that strongly in a very long time.

He kept wondering about her.

What colour are her eyes? Her hair? What's her heritage? Is she healthy? What's her family's financial status?

Not that that mattered to him. He didn't care about how she looked or how rich/poor she was, as long she is alive.

If only he knew her name. As soon as he gets the list of children born today, he would know which name belongs to her.

It's like when you hear your new favourite song. You may not know the words to it, but you know the beat and the rythm. You know it's your song.

His long, slender fingers adorned by many rings tapped against the glass that separated him from the cool winter air.

He wondered some more about her. He knew she was warm. Not warm physically, but mentally. She was a bundle of joy.

He took a sip of his drink and savoured the taste before swallowing the cool liquid.

A knock sounded at the door and he sat down on his chair.

"Come in." He said.

He knew it was Arnold by the sound of his footsteps and his scent.

"Sir, we have gotten the list of all female children born December 20th, as you requested." He bowed and put the envelope on his King's table.

"You may leave." The King spoke cooly.

He left with a final bow and as soon as he closed the door behind him, the King ripped opet the envelope and read through the names.

As he read the names he stumbled upon 'Jessica Holland'. He heard that Jamie Holland, his friend's sister, will name her daughter that name when she gives birth. He should congratulate her, he heard she was due date soon. He'll make sure to send them a bouqet of roses.

But she isn't the one.

He kept reading and as he was nearing the end of the list, he got panicked. He read the final name and felt nothing. He must've skipped her name.

He read it over and over again, but her name wasn't there.

She wasn't a boy, he knew that. She was a female. Another one of the strange things that happen when your mate is born is that you know some things about them naturally. It's almost like knowing that 2+2 is 4 - but without having learned it anywhere.

He stood up and paced the room. His anger and distress mirrored the whirling snow storm that had started while he was reading the huge list of names.

With that, he put on his coat and went to look for her. By foot or by car, he didn't care. He had to find her.
