Denise's POV

I hate her!

Ever since Joe and I got here, he's been giving her more time than I. If she actually thinks she'll steal him from me, she better think again. Because I won't let it.

She thinks she can fool everyone? With her fake innocence. Well, not me. That's exactly why I started this war with her.

I simply won't let her ruin everything I've worked for. The whole Frost empire has to be in my hands by the end of the year. And for that to happen, she must be out of the picture.

I started warning her off a few days ago and actually ruined most of her things. I always added more salt to her food. I dropped her iPad in water. Shrunk her clothes in the laundry machine. I've been having fun.

But yesterday, I saw her with Joe in the maze through the window. They were getting all cosy with each other. It's time she gets out of our lives. This is the perfect time with Joe away from home.

I look for the bitch until I find her standing on the balcony overlooking the ocean.

She must die.

I take off my shoes so as to muffle my footsteps and stealthily start approaching her. I hope she doesn't look back.

I get only a couple of feet away from her. I launch and push her with all my might. The element of surprise helps me when she stumbles and falls over the railing with a scream.

It's not that much of a far fall, but enough to kill someone with concrete ground. I'll check on her later after she bleeds out.

I smile to myself, dusting off my hands and walk away. Goodridance.

Now all the Frost empire will be mine. Including this mansion.

"I love myself."

Joe's POV

I stare in disbelief for a few seconds before springing to action. I don't have time to process what's happening.

I jump into the pool and pull out a limp Erica, bringing her to the surface.

I pull out my phone from jeans pocket and immediately dial 911 and request for a helicopter ambulance.

"C'mon, Erica, don't do this to me."

I check for injuries and find her head bleeding, her arms bruised. She must have hit her head on the tile when she fell from up.

"Erica, please... Please baby... I love you... don't leave me...Erica!"

This can't be happening!

I carry her all the way to the helipad on the rooftop. Good thing I don't run into Denise on my way.

A few minutes later, the heli shows up and lands. Paramedics run to me placing Erica on a stretcher before they carry her back to the heli.

They inform me that they'll administer first aid while flying out. And with that, they are gone. I pull out my phone and ring Tim, the pilot of our private heli.

I tell him to get here as soon as he can or else! I can bring hell to earth when it comes to the love of my life.

Denise shows up at the rooftop, probably due to the noise created by the heli that just left.

"What the hell is going on?" She demands. But I don't answer. I'm not ready to deal with her right now.

A moment later, Tim shows up and I don't hesitate getting in and strapping myself. All the while Denise demands to know what's going on but I ignore her.

I motion for Tim to lift off. Right now half of my heart is in my throat while the other is lying in a hospital. I can't stop the tears that fill my eyes from flowing out.

I shouldn't have gone away. I should have stayed. I could have protected her. This is all my fault. I'll never forgive myself if something happens to her.

After five excruciating hours of waiting, the doctor shows up from the operation room. Erica's mother, Jenny runs to him with a tear stained face.

I gave up crying hours ago so I've been here like a zombie. I had already contacted both hers and my family. So, I wasn't alone.

"How's she doctor? Is she going to be alright?" Jenny fires at the doctor.

"She is going to be fine. The operation was successful," the doctor says but I can already hear a 'but' coming on.

"But?" I ask.

"But... She has fallen into a coma..."

I go numb. My princess is in a coma. I hear her mother start sobbing beside me. It's a good thing father is here. He can handle all else.

"How long will it take for her to be in this coma?" He asks.

"It depends. Could be an hour, a day, a week, a month, or even years."

What?

"So, can we see her?" I perk up at that.

"Yes. But only two at a time." With that he walks away.

"I'll go last," I offer because there's a lot I want to say to her.

Her mother and sister go first, followed by Moana and father. Anthony, Star's husband decides he'll not enter.

So after an hour of waiting, it's my turn to go in. I take the five steps to the door. I look into the small window on the door and my heart breaks.

I slowly open the door and go inside the room, closing the door shut behind me. Every step I take to get near her is just excruciating.

I look at her. Tubes running everywhere, into her veins, her nose, her mouth. Machines beeping here and there. It's just too much.

I take the hand that's without an IV tube running in. I bring it to my lips as I settle beside her bed. I can't stop the tears that fall out of my eyes as I caress her hand. This is the most heart breaking situation I've ever been in.

"Hey, Princess. Can you hear me?" My voice cracks.

"There's a lot I wanna say to you. I want you to know that I never wanted to leave you. God, I felt like dying when I did. I want you to know that I love you. Wake up so I can say this to you face to face. I've always loved you, baby. Please don't give up on us.

Come back to me. Fight for us. If you much as feel like giving up, just know you'll take me with you. Please come back. Hell, I'm going to wait for you everyday of my life. I'll never much as look at other women. And I'll never let anyone hurt you again.

Wake up, my love. Meanwhile, let me go take care of that woman. I'll never let another hurt you. I'll make sure she pays. Don't forget I love you, baby. I. Love. You."

I stand up, kiss her hand, then her forehead. I take a deep breath and walk towards the door. I glance back before I exit the room.

I stop in my tracks when I see Denise standing next to my father. Anger boils within. I clench and unclench my fists. She looks over at me.

"Oh, baby..." I put up my hand, stopping her.

No one in this room knows what she did. But I do, because I saw her do it. I can't believe I almost married this monster.

"What are you doing here?" I spit.

She looks at me incredululously. "What do you mean 'what am I doing here'?"

"I want you to get out." Everyone eyes me.

Father walks over to me. "Relax, son. You can't kick your fiancé out. We're all quite devastated."

"No, father. We're all in this place because of this bitch." I bellow.

"What the hell do you mean? Joe, I'm your fiancé. I can't believe you are treating me like this!"

Wow, she's quite an actress.

"Today, right now, in front of everyone... our engagement is cancelled. You are my fiancé no more."

She stares at me, almost like she's in pain. Tears start welling up in her eyes. She walks closer to me.

"Why are you doing this?" She asks slowly, shaking her head.

"Because you tried to kill someone I deeply care about." There. I said it.

She looks taken aback by my words. I can also hear the shocked gasps from everyone behind me.

"What are you talking about?" She really has the guts to ask.

"Yeah, son. What exactly are you talking about?" Father asks.

"She, father," I point an accusing finger at Denise, "she tried to kill Erica. She pushed her over the balcony. I saw her with my own two eyes."

Right now it's safe to say she looks busted. She starts crying, like really crying. Drama queen.

"I didn't..." She starts.

"Of course you did!"

"You're trying to put this on me. You think I didn't notice? I know you're cheating on me with her. I saw it. Now you're saying I wanted to kill her so you could get rid of me!"

"But I too as you pushing her over the balcony," a new voice says. "So do I want to get rid of you, too?"

I turn to the new voice. I find the guy Erica has been hanging out with. What's he doing here? I'll deal with him when I finish off this one.

"You're lucky I'm not pressing charges. Now I want you to get the hell out of here and out of our lives and never show your face again." I speak in a calm yet commanding voice.

"You'll regret this, Joe. That much I promise," she warns.

"Out!" I'm done listening to her crap.

She turns on her heels and walks down the hall and out of sight. I heave a sigh of relief.
