《VocaHigh - LenxMiku》Chapter 7 : Someone's Jealous

Slam!

Mikuo glanced away from his television to the source of the sound. His sister took off her shoes, "Hey, Mikuo. How's school going?"

"Out of all the subjects you could've thought of, you chose school? No offense or anything, but I would like to keep this conversation away until I start on my homework, please, " he teased.

Miku rolled her eyes, "Pfft. Whatever. Anyway, you hungry?"

"Nope."

"You sure?"

"Mmhmm"

"You sure, you sure?"

He exasperatedly sighed, "Yes."

"You sure, you sure, you sure?"

"Oh my---okay fine! I'm hungry! There! I. Said. It!" He yelled frustratingly.

Miku snickered, "Alright, alright. Sheesh. I was just asking a simple question. All you had to say was 'yes' or 'no.' " she then proceeded into the kitchen, gathering materials for their dinner tonight. Her brother dramatically sighed again. Someday, when she comes home with a boyfriend, I'm going to ask him why he chose her.

He glanced at his t.v., then his games console, and that triggered his memory. "Oi! Miku!"

"What?!"

"Why didn't Rin go with you? She promised me we were going to battle over Call of Duty: Black Ops II."

Miku soon emerged from the kitchen and looked at him, confusion written all over her face. "What's that?" Oh yeah. She doesn't know what Call of Duty is. "It's a game," He replied, "me and Rin decided to head to the store and bought it. We didn't have enough money, so we combined our cash and payed for it. Since we also live in separate homes, I suggested to battle this out on Mortal Kombat."

Did she get it? Or is she that dense? Nah, I think it's because she's...Girly. He cringed mentally at that forbidden word. We would be able to hang out and do fun activities. Like sports, playing video games, initiating pranks on our beloved friends. Why couldn't she be a tomboy like Rin? Despite the bow, of course.

It took the tealette quite a while to process the information given to her. She made a sound, signaling that she got the idea. After the mention of her best friend's name, she decided to tell her idiotic (not academically, of course) sibling the event that crossed paths with her earlier today.

"Hey, Mikuo," she sprinted to jump on their couch. He stared, waiting for her to continue. When she didn't, he responded instead, "What?"

"Well, something happened to Rin today. That's why she didn't walk home with me today and proceed with your battle on Call of poody? Whatever it is called."

Panic filled his mind. Something happened to my Rin? Wait, why did I call her mine? She doesn't belong to me.

"What?" He bluntly responded. "Hmm? Oh yeah, the story. Well, she received..." She stopped shortly, adding a dramatic effect. Mikuo was getting impatient. Imaginary steam was furiously blasting out of his own ears.

"Can you just get on with it!" He snapped, flailing his lean arms everywhere possible. Even close to hitting his own sister. "Hey! Watch it!" She grabbed onto his flying limbs to stop them. "Since you're so eager to hear it, Rin received a love letter!" She squealed, "Isn't that awesome?!"

Mikuo froze in his spot. Love letter? To Rin? The school's resident tomboy? The girl who cringes at the word 'make-up?' The girl who cried and begged for five days straight about how she has to wear a skirt to school and not pants or shorts? How does this make sense? No offense but, why her?

Before he knew it, jealousy and anger coursed through his veins like wildfire. No. No, no, no. She belongs to me. No one. And I mean NO ONE should steal her away from me. I liked her first. Even though I've hidden my feelings for her...Dang it! I was thinking of maybe confessing to her, but now some idiot came and made the first move!

A gasp brought him out of his thoughts. It came from Miku. "Oh no! The steak is burnt!"

Sigh. Just when things couldn't get any worse. First, Rin and I were going to have a match over who gets the game, but she couldn't make it. Second, some guy comes into the picture and gives her a lover letter, jeopardizing my chances of confessing to her and possibly being my girlfriend.

And now, dinner is ruined because of my carefree sibling who is too ditzy that it is frustrating to be able to live with someone like her every single day in my stupid life. But, I love her anyway because she cooks for me and has been there when I was facing hard events.

He trudged over to the kitchen. He saw his sister fanning the burnt piece of meat. Another sigh and he went to their cabinets, taking ramen noodle cups out and proceeding to pour boiling water into them. After a few solid minutes, he grabbed the two containers and placed them on their dining table.

He glanced at Miku, who was now having her palms covering her face. Her body shaking with a clear fluid sliding down her neck. Probably tears. He tapped her on the shoulder and she glanced up hesitantly. He pointed to the ramen cups and grinned.

The tealette smiled a little and joined him at the dinner table. Dinner was done and they placed their chopsticks in the sink, not bothering to do the dishes. Miku walked up the stairs, getting ready for a shower to clean herself up. Mikuo walked into his bedroom and pulled out his homework.

In the midst of doing it, a certain blonde flashes inside his brain. It startled the daylights (which wouldn't be accurate, considering it's night time and all, but who cares) out of him. He continued, but was interrupted by Rin's cheeky smile and bright laughter.

"Argh!" He groaned, "why am I thinking about her?!" He pulled at his beautifully colored hair. A knock was heard. He glanced at the door. After a few seconds, the door opened and a soft voice was heard, "Mikuo? You okay?"

"Yeah."

"You sure?"

He sighed, "Yes. Just peachy."

"Really?" Miku pressed on.

"Mmhmm. I'm fine, sis."

Silence filled the room. Mikuo finally thought she had left but boy was he wrong.

"Really, really?"

He mentally sighed. His wall of patience was growing thin.

"Yes, Miku. I'm really fine."

"Hmm. You sure?"

"Miku," he started in a warning tone, "say 'you sure?' one more time and I'll strangle you."

A few seconds of silence later, "Hey. That's mean, don't cha think?"

"Then leave. Like I said a bazillion times already, nothing I wrong. I'm perfectly fine." He responded. He glanced at Miku for the first time since their little back-and-forth conversation, signaling to her that he was wanting some privacy.

Memories of the blonde invaded his mind like the plague. It was getting frustrating and he didn't like it. Except for the fact that Rin was the most cutest thing ever from doing the smallest of things and he was going to lose it from too much kawaii-ness.

Miku caught a glint of something in his orbs. Was that love I saw? *gasp* my brother has fallen for someone? OMG, how did I not know about this? Who could it be? But mostly, what does she look like? Is she pretty? Smart? Nerdy?

She saw his alarm clock. It was 8:37pm. She gasped. Oh no! I have homework to finish! But I have to talk to Mikuo about his love life. But the homework is due tomorrow first thing in the morning. Gosh! I'll just talk to him about this later after school. Right now, I need to solve some equations!

Miku embraced her brother and pecked him on the cheek before jogging out of his bedroom. The male glanced at his homework, before proceeding to walk to the bathroom, turning the shower on and stepping into the stall.

He sighed in relief as the warm droplets hitting and sliding down his toned, lean body. The tomboy was out of his mind, but temporarily.

'I really need to confront Rin tomorrow before, during, or after school about this love letter she received. I need to know her feelings about it.

If she actually accepted his confession and started dating him, also becoming his girlfriend in the process, I-I don't think I can handle that type of heartbreak for as long as I live...'

Tada!

So, Mikuo seems to be jealous, huh? :P

Anyway, I hope you like this update. I'm thinking of updating every Saturday, considering that's the only day I have free time. :'( I'll maybe try to update two times a week, I'm not sure.
