《His Perfect Doll》Chapter 23

I let out a choked sob as I dropped the pregnancy test to the floor. I didn't know what to feel. Happy? Sad? Mad? Maybe it was all three.
Liam came rushing in to find me sitting against a wall.
"Liam, what if the baby turns out to be a Peter 2.0? Or what if the baby dies? Or..."
Liam shushed me by giving me a quick kiss. "You'll be okay," he whispered.
"I'm pregnant." I let out a sad laugh.
Liam helped me stand up. I sat on my couch and curled up.
"Do you want me to stay?" He asked. I nodded and he sat down next to me. I started to sob.
Peter had raped me, put a baby inside of me, and he was still running loose. The police hadn't caught him, and it had been 4 weeks.
"Liam, I think that maybe, you should be with someone else."
"Are you breaking up with me?"
"I'm not normal! And you're a nice guy. You deserve someone that isn't broken."
"I'm not leaving you." He said. His daring eyes made me sigh in defeat. He was stubborn, and I knew that he would never leave me alone. Even if I did break up with him.
I scooted closer to him, resting my head on his shoulder. "I'll help you raise it."
"What?"
"I'll raise the baby with you."
"Just shut up about the future. Just for a second."
Liam sighed and put an arm around me. It was nice to feel the touch of another human. A human that wasn't Peter.
"Liam?"
"Yeah?"
"I need you to promise something."
"Okay."
"Promise me that you'll never leave me. Even if I do have a baby that isn't yours. Or if the baby is from Peter."
"I'll never leave you, Daisy."
"Promise?"
"I promise."

Apex Immortal: a LitRPG system rampage
"Across the multiverse where the contest for power is the only constant, only a handful have succeeded in reaching the ultimate heights of ascendency and gained the title Apex Immortal. Dominus is one of them, unsurpassed in overwhelming violence, feared across universes. Now, memories locked and stranded far away from everything he’d built, Dominus will face enemies that will challenge even his powers and discover that change is more difficult than destruction." I’ve been writing fiction on and off for the last decade and I’ve always wondered how a peak immortal (or an OP superhero) would single handedly conquer a world that mirrors our own in all of its complexity. As a politics nerd, this is my attempt at answering that question using Machiavelli’s “The Prince” as the primary playbook. The “monsters” are entire political systems with entrenched culture. Expect many versions of real world political systems (and cultures) to be on the hit list. The MC has to successfully institute regime and cultural change without engaging in wholesale genocide and causing the state to fail. Expect things to go wrong pretty quickly as escalating and cascading political and economic effects rapidly go out of control. Methods deployed are not for the faint hearted.

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
