I want to share a bittersweet fact with y'all. If you didn't know, my novel, The Green Guardian, was inspired by my older brother's difficult life. Everything went downhill for him after COVID hit. He was just getting back on his feet when he passed away. The main character in The Green Guardian, Anthony Mateo Brook, is based off Matthew himself. The name "Mateo" is "Matthew" in Spanish and Italian. I wrote about him for a reason–to show the world that there is always a second chance waiting for you. Even though it's devastating how I was never able to share Mateo with Matthew, he's my way of knowing that my older brother is still with me. My plan is to publish The Green Guardian in his honor. I'm going to share Mateo/Matthew's character aesthetic with you guys. I want to show you why I gave Matthew the title "The Green Guardian".
