《Triumph Book 1》Chapter Three

The first part of school went really fast, the bell for lunch rang before I knew it. I don't have many friends, I just don't have any time for friends especially after mom died. My only friends are Alan and Matty, Matty and I have been friends since the first grade when she beat up my bully.
Matty is very eccentric and vibrant, if I ever needed anything she was always there just like I have always been there for her.
I go to the lunchroom and grab my lunch, I look around for Matty in the crowd of tall teenage werewolfs. Then I see her petite frame franticly waving from the back table. I walk back to where she is sitting and as soon as I sit down she pumbles me with a big hug. "I missed you lots Audrey" she says excitedly I laugh and sit down at the table. "You seen me yesterday" I say as I start eating, "yesss.. but it's still a long time" she wined. I just shake my head at her and continue eating.
"The royal family is back today" Matty tells me. I go pale ugh not the royal family, they are the most spoiled little bastards you could ever meet. Twins Kindra Waters and Leon Waters are the Prince and princess of the water kingdom. I've been bullied by the both of them since I was in first grade and they where in 2nd.
Kindra had the nastiest attitude of all the teenage cunts in this school. She was head cheerleader and classic school slut. Leon was the classic jock type he played just about every sport. Every girl in the school was in love with him, but if you ask me his asshole personality kinda overrides his attractiveness.
"Will they be at school today?" I ask her, she nodds and gestured behind me. I turned to see Kindra and Leon sitting at the popular table laughing away with the rest of the fake people in this school. All of a sudden Leon looks up and our eyes meet, his piercing greenish blue eyes catch my brown ones. I found it so hard to look away he is so handsome, he is athleticly built and has curly blond hair that frames his muscular face. I tear myself away and turn around so I can't see him anymore. Matty gives me a knowing look but changes the subject quickly.

After lunch I dread having PE with Leon but luckily it's the only class I have with the guy. I take my time getting to the class, being around him makes me so nervous. I get to PE and change in to the uniform, once I'm changed I join the others. "Today we will be playing dodge ball" coach Patty says addressing the class after the bell rings, "this half of the room on this side, the other on the other half" she says putting the balls in the middle of the court. Luckily I'm not in the same team as Leon but on the other hand I don't want to be on the other team either he is good at just about everything.
The wisle blows signaling the beginning of the game and before I realize it red balls are flying everywhere. I dodge a few of them as they are thrown at my head, my heart starts racing as I make eye contact with Leon for the 2nd time today. What the hell is wrong with me? I shake the thoughts away and focus on the game just as a ball is hurled at my stomach, Next thing I knew all I see is black.
I woke up in the nurses office a gray haired healer standing over me. "My my, little one you took quite a blow to the stomach" she says worry written all over her face. I sit up slowly and smile at her "I'll be fine" I say lifting up my shirt to view the damage I see a light ball shaped bruise forming on my abdomen. "I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't ask about the other bruise?" She says giving me a pointed look, I had a huge bruise on my side my dad had gotten pissed off because I got home a little late and he shoved me and I fell on the coffee table.

I smile at her as convincingly as I could "oh it's alright I just bruise easy I must have gotten to rough, roughhousing" I lie looking away from her gaze.
Little did she know I have way bigger bruises that the one the ball gave me or even the coffee table but to protect willow I have to keep quiet.
I walked out of the nurses office after a few Minutes of convincing her I was fine. As I rounded the corner going to my next class I collide with what felt like a wall. I look up in to the eyes I really didn't want to see again today, Leon's. "Watch it" he grumbles "sorry" I mutter and walk away quickly, he scoffs and walks away in the opposite direction.
After school I meet Alan in the parking lot, as always he has a huge smile on his face. "How did you do on the test?" I ask, his smile some how got bigger " I got a C" he says excitedly "did you do good?" He askes "yeah I got an A" I say climbing in the truck. "Fuck man why do you always get a better grade than me?" He pouts "because I study" I say I stick my tounge out at him, he flips me off and he starts the truck.
We pull up at the daycare and I get excited to see willow I miss her while I'm at school all day. I check her out and go to her class as I get in the door she instantly sees me and runs to me.
I hug her tight I wish I could be with her all day. "See you tomorrow" I wave at her teacher and we head to the truck. "did you have a good day?" I ask her she smiles really big and nods "yes!" She squeals, I laugh "good sweety, ready to go home?" She nods and waves to Edith as we pass the front desk.
We pull into my driveway with time to spare, "so I heard you had an incident today?" Alan says gesturing to my stomach. "Yeah im fine i just got hit with the ball to hard" I say
"Well I'm glad your okay" Alan says smiling
I get willow out of her seat, "bye bye Willow" Alan says waving at her, she waves back "bye bye" she says. I wave goodbye to Alan as he pulls away, I head into the house. I really hate coming home, I know what always waits for us when he is home.

"I know who I was. I was Aevlin, raised by Callily, wife of Alaric, son of the mad king," she said the words as if they belonged to someone else. Not her name, not her story. 8 127From beyond The Veil
Witnesses say that the angels blaze appeared back in the eighties. A dazzling light ripped through the sky all across the world. People say they saw a rainbow of colors bathing the sky. It was gone in a instant. Some legends say that it was an angel falling from the sky. But most scholars agree that it was a rare comet. They all were wrong. The light was a breaking of the veil, the veil to my world. Now creatures from my side of the veil are breaking through and it's my job to keep them back and protect all the humans. But I tend to like to watch the chaos.

No schedule. The first 20 or so chapters have a little cringe-inducing English. The story is slow and summoning spells are actually scarcely shown at the beginning.
