《Begin Again || AHS》Chapter 23 - The Last Chapter

This is the last chapter.
Thank you to everyone for reading, commenting, voting and supporting me. This has been the first story I've completed ever since I started writing for fun at seven years old.
He stood there in shock, looking deep into the eyes of his younger sister, ones he no longer recognised. They were darker, angrier than before. She was the Addie he had known. Not even a little bit of the old her was there.
"Long time, no see" She smiled, somewhat sarcastically. She did not love her brother anymore, making it easier to hate him.
"But you didn't-"
"Make it to the lawn in time?" She finished "News flash: I did and I've always been here, watching your every move"
"Why would you do this to me?" Tate asked, hurt. He couldn't be angry at her. If she hadn't have unveiled herself as the mastermind behind the group trying to ruin his life, he would've been over-the-moon to see her again.
"Because I wanted to stay here" She explained "I wanted to live here, to be able to see mom everyday and be happy. At first, I thought I hadn't made it but when I realised I did, I was terrified of being trapped with you so I hid. I saw what you did to Vivien and how much you hurt Violet and I wasn't sad anymore because I was angrier than I had ever been before"
"Addie, you know I would never hurt you!" He protested. Adelaide placed a finger to her lips and looked over at Ben. Tate knew what they would do if her made another sound.
"You said that to Violet" She fired back quickly "I don't think you want a recap of what happened"
"Addie please" He pleaded "that's your nephew!"
"I know" She raised her eyebrows "He's the child of a ghost and human. He wasn't conceived out of love and that's not right. He killed Violet's mom and broke Violet's heart. His father was a serial killer shot by a SWAT team who then went on to rape his girlfriend's mother - No child deserves that"
"I'm sorry" He whispered, tears falling down his face.
"He's better off dead" She replied, solemnly.

"Addie, stop!" Someone yelled as they climbed into the attic. Vivien. She wasn't alone as she and Violet had freed Chad and Nora from their captivity.
"I thought I crucified you" Adelaide sighed exasperated
"Adelaide, you don't have to be scared" Vivien started "Tate's made a lot of mistakes but he's changed"
"Bullshit" She shot back "Someone like him will never change"
"Then let him prove it to you" Violet spoke up, on the brink of tears "Your brother loves you"
"Is that what he said?" Addie scoffed, taking a step closer to her nephew "Tate can never love anyone"
"Yes, he can" Violet insisted "He loves his son, his loves his family and he loves me!"
"Whatever you say" She rolled her eyes "You were such a good friend to me, Violet, and you deserved so much better than a psychopath"
"Maybe I was never a good enough brother for you" Tate shrugged "But that didn't mean I didn't love you, Addie. You can be happy here with us"
"I will never be happy" She spat
"Yes, you will" Her brother argued "It's never going to be the life you wanted but we can try, can't we?"
He held out his arms cautiously and she nervously stepped into them, hugging her brother.
Slowly, she released herself from her brother's embrace and for a second, everything felt okay. Until the smile on Tate's face faded away and he felt his knees buckle underneath him. He fell to the ground, a red stain seeping through his sweater. In her hand, Adelaide held the bloodied knife and wiped it with an old rag that had been discarded on one of the boxes.
"I told you to be quiet" She smirked.
Violet had rushed over and was on her knees next to her wounded boyfriend. She glared at his sister, a girl who used to be so innocent and kind. The eyes of a new kind of monster stared back at her. The Adelaide they knew was gone and she couldn't be redeemed.
"Leave him, Violet" Adelaide said firmly.
She shook her head, refusing to leave his side.
"Leave him or you can watch your dad kill your son" The formerly sweet girl barked

Violet backed away, putting her hands up. Her mother put her arms around her to ensure she did nothing stupid.
"This is between me and my brother" Addie shouted "The rest of you need to leave"
Chad and Nora hurried down the stairs and Adelaide nodded at Ben, implying he should disappear. Vivien had to drag a struggling Violet out of the attic and away from the face-off, making her wait helplessly on the floor below.
"We can make this as easy as you like Tate" The female said "I'll even let you decide how he dies!"
"Addie, please-"
"I can shoot, stab or hang him" Adelaide continued as she paaced menancingly around her nepheew. He seemed completely unconscious "Either way, you're not leaving this room with a kid"
"If you kill him, he'll just come back" Tate pointed out as he got up off the floor, his wound almost healed.
"You think I'd kill him in here?" She half-laughed "I know he'd come back that's why the three of us are going to go on a nice little field trip to the middle of the street where I died and I'll kill him there"
"But I can't leave!"
"No, you couldn't leave! You can now!"
He was interrupted by the sound of charging another spirit charging up into the attic.
Hayden
"Adelaide, stop" Hayden said firmly, believing it would have some sort of affect. She was wrong.
"You really are a pain in the ass" Adelaide rolled her eyes "Just leave, okay? They've done all the 'We can be happy' bullshit and it hasn't work. Don't make me stab you too"
Hayden pushed her way past Tate and threw an old piece of furniture at her former leader. It missed her body by an inch but still scraped the top of Adelaide's shoulder.
As if on cue, Chad and Nora appeared behind her, grabbing arms while Vivien tried to shake Michael awake.
"He's not waking!" She shouted to Violet was making sure Tate was alright.
He rushed over to his son and began shaking his shoulders with no result. Quickly, Tate put his ear to the boy's chest to check for a heartbeat. Thankfully, it was still there. Again and again, he and Violet tried to wake him up but with no response until he eventually opened his eyes.
"Dad" He smiled as he leapt into his father's arms, both of his parents almost in tears.
Suddenly, a massive thud sounded. Violet snapped her head around to see the first lady of the house and the former gay on the floor, badly injured. Addie had escaped.
"Where is she?" Violet cried.
"Ask and I appear, bitch" Adelaide asserted as she pointed the gun at the roof, making a small hole.
In their distraction, She tore the child out of his arms and threw him over her shoulder as she thundered down the stairs and through the house until she was standing out on the street with the child standing an arms length away.
"It ends here!" She shouted as her finger tugged on the trigger and she sent the bullet flying, where it landed itself in Michael's chest. He cried in pain before collapsing to the floor.
Then, just like that, she was gone.
Every seemed to go in slow motion as Violet and Tate ran as quickly as they could into the middle of the street.
"We need to stop the bleeding" Tate cried as her removed his sweater and pressed it down on his son's wound.
"Stay with us, Michael" Violet bawled "Stay awake!"
"He's losing too much blood" Tate wept as he pressed his now-scarlet sweater down harder on the bullet wound. It wasn't working well enough.
As slowly, the child closed his eyes and grew still.
"No, no, no" Violet cried hysterically as she shook her son's dead body, trying to bring him back "Michael, please!"
Tate dragged his body back to the yard, like there was a small chance that his spirit had left his body yet and he could stay in the house. There was nothing else they could do so they stayed there on the grass, craddling the body of their dead son until there were no more tears to shed.

8 684Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.
8 150The Eighth Warden
Cast out from his knightly order for using magic, Corec has no idea what lies ahead. Leaving his homeland to make his own way in the world, he finds himself linked to a beautiful woman through a mysterious rune. With otherworldly forces manipulating events behind the scenes, the two must seek help to free themselves from the unknown magic. But when the runes continue affecting others, Corec and his companions—an elven druid, a con man with a hidden past, and a thief who wants to be a bard—must work to discover truths about themselves and the world in which they live. I post the chapters here as I write them. There's also a revised version of each book that's collected and published as an ebook and paperback. That version is compatible with the version posted here—the story itself hasn't changed; it's just gone through additional rounds of editing.

Corset, waistcoats, magic, and hidden dangers abound!

A journey through a young girls broken mind. It may be a bit over the top sometimes.
