《Cut Deep (Eren x Reader ft. Titan Eren)》~ Chapter 28 ~

I sit down in my usual spot on the dining room table, my dad across from me and my mom on my left. Eren sits on my right, smiling politely as we eat my mom's home cooked meal.
"So, Eren," My dad begins to ask. "Where are you from originally?" He cuts his food. I shoot him a death glare, which he returns with a face of regret. Now I know where I get it from.
"Shiganshina, sir," Eren's expression is as stoic as Levi's.
"I'm sorry, son. Are you parents-"
"Dead, sir."
There is an awkward silence and I place a hand on Eren's lap from underneath the table.
"Well, we're your family now. We'll always be here for you Eren," My mom says, placing her hand across the table to his.
"Thank you Mrs. (L/N),"
"Call me, (M/N), please," She smiles sympathetically.
He smiles and stand up from the table, his plate in his hand.
"Did you want me to take your plate, (Y/N)?" He notices I have finished my food.
"Thank you Eren," I watch him go into the kitchen.
"So, (Y/N)," My dad looks at me with an unknown question in his mind.
"Yes, dad?" I say, butterflies dancing in my stomach at thoughts of what the question may be.
"Is Eren...the titan shifter?" He says softly.
"Yes," I snap, more bitter than how I would've liked to come across. My grandfather on my dad's side was in the Scouting Legion like myself, being the reason I joined. He unfortunately passed away when my father was young as he was torn into by a titan. When I would write about 'The titan shifter' in my letters, my mom would share my interest, but she never wrote how my dad felt about it.

"Oh," Is what my father returned, and my face turned into a scowl as I stood up at the table.
"I don't care. I don't care what anyone thinks he may be, if anyone thinks he's a monster. He's a hero- he plugged up the gate in Trost and has dealt with nothing but shit from people who are afraid of him!" My voice is louder than I would like it to be. For my parent's sake I hope the neighbours can't hear me, because they loathe titans and the Scouting Legion.
"Honey," My mom coos.
"No! I'm telling the honest truth from my heart! You taught me to love people no matter what they may look like, and just because Eren can turn into a 15 metre, eight packed, pointed eared titan, does not make him any more dangerous than he may already be! As a titan he's more gentle than you'd like to imagine!" My ears turn pink along with my face as my mom smiles biting her bottom lip. I turn around to see Eren, sharing the same blush on his face with dilated eyes.
"I think it's pretty cool he can turn into a titan," My dad finally says. "He is a hero. It's good to know we've got someone on our side," My father stands up, taking his and my mother's plates and walking into the kitchen.
"One day I'd like to see your titan, Eren," My mom smiles, leading us into my old bedroom to sleep for the next week. I look around to see everything intact as I left it, my bed, my stuffed animals my mom made me, and my desk.
"I sometimes come in here, (Y/N). Sometimes I sleep in here, praying everyday that you'll come back when you go out," Tears fall from her eyes. I see my emotions in her, and embrace her in a hug that reminds me of childhood. "I better leave," She chuckles, wiping the tears away.
"Goodnight, mom," I smile.
"Goodnight, (M/N)." Eren says.
"Goodnight you, two," She gives us individual kisses. "Don't be too noisy okay?"
