《Ever Since New York》Chapter 28

Today was the day.

Today, Harry and I were eloping.

Last night, when we talked about it, Harry called the court house and booked us in and we spent the rest of the night discussing what we'd do after and what to wear.

I was standing in front of my mirror in my bathroom wearing a short white dress with my hair down and naturally curly.

I did wear any makeup because I knew I'd start crying and I didn't want mascara everywhere.

I grab my small purse and open it for the millionth time, seeing my phone and keys and at the bottom, the ring I picked out for Harry.

It was a classic silver with a message inscribed on the inside, "To the moon and back" with a small heart at the end. Cheesy, I know.

Taking a deep breath and smiling to myself, I walk down stairs and see Harry standing in the kitchen, wearing a tailored black suit and a white shirt underneath.

He turns around when he hears me and smiles, biting his lip some when he sees me.

"Hi." he says, walking to me.

"Hi." I reply, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.

Harry leans down and captures my lips in a soft kiss that leaves me blushing as we pull away.

"Are you ready?" he asks.

I nod and Harry grabs his keys and phone before grabbing my hand my hand and leading me to his Jeep.

Once on the road, the nerves started kicking in and I glanced at Harry who took my hand once again and squeezes it gently.

"You know we don't have to do this." He tells me.

I nod and kiss his hand softly. "I know...but I want to." I say.

I watch as Harry smiles and then pull out my phone, taking a quick picture of him.

The trip to the Court House was short, only about 15 minutes.

Once we got there, we quickly found a parking space and get out.

Harry came around and grabbed my hand and we ran up the front steps and into the building.

Looking around, I saw that there were a few people inside doing the same thing as us.

I notice that a few people were crying and some were just smiling and laughing with their partner as they stood around.

I look up at Harry and he smiles down at me before leaning in and kissing me softly.

I smile against his lips and pull back as our names are called.

"Mr. Styles and Miss. Tomlinson?"

We turn to find a man standing by a door and he smiles at us, waving us over.

Harry squeezes my hand tight and we walk over to the man and through the doors.

Inside was a small chapel. It was vintage and modern and just cute.

The man walked us down the small isle and to the alter at the front of the room.

"I'm Father Simon. I'll be performing your ceremony." he says.

I nod and smile politely to him and he has Harry and stand a few steps away form each other and face one another.

Harry smiles his perfect smile at me and I smile back.

"Bride and Groom, today you celebrate one of life's greatest moments and give recognition to the worth and beauty of love as you join together in vows of marriage.

Just as two very different threads woven in opposite directions can form a beautiful tapestry, so can your two lives merge together to form a very beautiful marriage. To make your marriage work will take love.

Love should be the core of your marriage, love is the reason you are here. But it also will take trust - to know in your hearts you want the best for each other. It will take dedication - to stay open to one another; to learn and to grow together even when this is not always so easy to do. It will take faith - to always be willing to go forward to tomorrow, never really knowing what tomorrow will bring. And it will take commitment - to hold true to the journey you both now pledge to share together." Father Simon says, looking back and forth between Harry and I.

"Harry, do you take Birdie to be your wife?" he asks.

Harry looks at me, his eyes shining as he takes my hands in his. "I do."

"Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect her, forsaking all others and holding only unto her?" Father Simon asks.

Harry nods and smiles. "I do."

Father Simon turns to look at me, smiling small.

"Bride, do you take Harry to be your Husband?"

I look at Harry and nod, squeezing his hands as my eyes water a bit. "I do."

"Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect him, forsaking all others and holding only unto him?"

"I do." I tell him.

Harry smiles and I bite my lip as Father Simon tells us it's time for the ring exchange. I dig Harry's ring out of my purse and hold it in my right hand as Father Simon gestures for Harry to go first.

"I, Harry Styles, take thee, Birdie Tomlinson to be my wife - to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, and I promise my love to you. With this ring, I thee wed." Harry says as he lifts my left hand and slowly slides a small diamond band onto my finger.

I quickly wipe my eyes and smile at Harry, chuckling a bit.

"I, Birdie Tomlinson, take thee Harry Styles to be my husband - to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, and I promise my love to you. With this ring, I thee wed." I say, slipping the ring onto Harry's finger.

"Birdie and Harry, in so much as the two of you have agreed to live together in Matrimony, have promised your love for each other by these vows, I now declare you to be Husband and Wife.Congratulations, you may kiss your bride." Father Simon says, smiling at the two of us.

Harry reaches out, wrapping his arm around my waist as he pulls me closer and smashes his lips against mine in a deep and passionate kiss.

I smile against his lips and cup his face in my hands as we kiss.

"I love you, Mr. Styles." I whisper, pulling back a bit and smiling more.

"I love you, Mrs. Styles."
