Doc yawned as he connected a part of metal to his late night creation, he checked his mug and it was empty, he lifted himself up and stretched, his tired eyes scanning his recent additions, it wasn't like him at all.. He'd normally finish it in a nick of time but the difference was that he's tired, sure he had more than 8 mugs of coffee but it wasn't enough to stay awake for 2 straight days
He tiredly walked to the kitchen and started making another mug of coffee as he yawned "Doc?" A voice asked, his droopy eyes turned around to see Grumpy "Oh... Hey Grumpy.." He said with exhaustion "What are you doing up so late?" Grumpy asked with concern, for a grumpy guy he is, he still cared for one of his closest friends, Doc grabbed the mug which was now filled with hot freshly brew coffee "You know.. Little of this... Little of that.... Just finishing up a new invention like always" Doc answered with a tired smile "What about you?" He asked "Doesn't matter.." Grumpy answered
"You fell asleep in the mine.. I think you need to get some rest" Grumpy suggested, Doc sipped a little from his coffee "Work never sleeps..." He answered simply "But people do.. What's this invention for anyway?" Grumpy asked "I'll tell you when it's done.." Doc started to walk back to his workroom "C'mon Doc! You need some shuteye" Grumpy said, cutting off his tracks "Well this invention's important..." Doc faced Grumpy "How important?" Grumpy asked "Does staying awake for 2 straight days answer your question?" Doc asked than stating, he turned back to his tracks and continued walking but Grumpy blocked him
"Doc. You need to sleep" Grumpy said sternly "No I don't Grumpy... I can control my sleepiness" Doc said getting slightly irritated "Yes you do!" Grumpy argued "No I don't!" Doc responded "Yes you do!!" Grumpy scolded like a dad telling his kids to go to bed "No I don't" Doc replied arguing back

They got into an argument "Doc! Rushing things can only make the result worse!" Grumpy argued "But I need to finish it!" Doc argued back "No you don't!! You have a whole lifetime to finish it!" Grumpy said, still not giving up, Doc stomped his foot "YES I DO!" Doc snapped, Grumpy stood quiet, slightly shocked
"I-I'm sorry.... I guess I just needed to get that out of me.." Doc apologized "Well.... Wanna talk?" Grumpy asked
They sat next to each other near the small staircase "So... What about it?" Grumpy asked "Well... You know how I always get the invention done in time..?" Doc yawned "Yeah?" Grumpy responded "This... This one is too complicated... Even for me.. I just feel like I need to finish it in time" Doc replied "Doc, you're the smartest guy I know! Don't push yourself too hard on it, you've got a lifetime to finish it, you can do this I know you can!" Grumpy said with encouragement
Doc gave him a small smile "Gee.. Thanks Grumpy... I never knew how wise you are...." Doc complimented "Well I guess it's just my thing!" Grumpy said proudly "The thing is, you need to rest.. Your brain needs to recharge, and I bet you can finish it like you always do after you get enough sleep" Grumpy said
"You know what..? You're right... Thanks for the advice" Doc said and stretched his arms "I know.. I'm always right! Well... Most of the time" Grumpy chuckled
Doc rested his head on Grumpy's shoulder in which Grumpy got shock "Goodnight Grumpster..." Doc bid, his tired eyes grateful for finally closing after a long day, Grumpy gave him a tiny smile before resting his head onto Doc's
"G'night Doc.."

Midara: Requiem
"When the alternative is extinction, all acts, no matter how heinous, are permitted." The story of a little necromancer who only wants to play with abominations against all that is holy dollies and her horsey, Mister Clackybones. Welcome to the novelization of one script I designed for a video game setting I call Midara (I selected the name of a genus of moths for symbolism purposes, not to be confused with anything else). Once upon a time, I dreamed of the setting being the next Final Fantasy. Long story short: Nope. Requiem itself is meant to be an Open-World RPG which adapts to the choices of the player. This is just one of many, many paths that one might follow in Requiem's gameplay, if it ever becomes a game.
