A smile fell across your face as you saw the familiar beanie through the crowd. When he reached you, you noticed the look on his face. "What's wrong?" You asked as you placed your hands on his cheeks. "Trouble at home," he mumbled as he leaned into your touch. You sighed as he wrapped his arms around you, leaning his head on your shoulder.
"Jughead, please just come inside," the boy shook his head as he clung to the branch of the tree. "I can't burden you with my problems," he said, the dark circles under his eyes getting worse. "Please, Jug," you whispered, tears forming in your eyes. "I love you, so much. But I can't do this to you," he mumbled as he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead before climbing down the tree to leave you with your thoughts.
A smile spread across your face as you thought back to a year ago. A squealed escaped your mouth as Jughead splashed water onto your face, Archie running into the lake as well. Betty and Veronica laughed as the boys teamed up against you in a splash war, you obviously losing. The smile and twinkle in his eye reminding you why you loved him so much. When the memory ended, you could still feel Jughead's soft kiss but it hit you like a punch to the face.
"Jughead! Just let me help you!" "No, (Y/n)! I don't want you involved in anything having to do with the black hood. I can't put you in harm's way like that," he mumbled as he pressed his forehead to yours, pressing a soft kiss to the tip of your nose. A sigh escaped your mouth as you gave into him, cuddling back into his chest as the movie continued.

Of course, all good things have to come to an end. Jughead avoiding you like you were some plague and you hurting every day. Ever since the two of you separated, Jughead distanced himself. Every time you looked at him, you prayed he wouldn't move on and he would come back to you but that isn't how life works. Jughead woke up, sweat pouring down his face for the tenth night in a row as his breathing was rigid.That same nightmare kept playing over and over again, the nightmare where he had lost you forever due to a fight over the black hood.
