《STRAWBERRY WINE -corpse husband-》HURT FEELINGS (8)

"Hello guys! It's a pretty good day to stream!" She tried not to pay attention to the chat too much. She wanted to have a good time, and she already felt insecure. She knew the audience wouldn't help that. "I think I'm just going to play some Among Us with a few people, then chill out for awhile. Kinda tired today, ya know."
Throughout the stream she checked her phone, never getting a response from Corpse.
After streaming for a few hours, hiding her nerves and embarrassment behind a smile, Madison left the game and ended the stream.
Corpse hadn't spoken a word to her or about her the entire time, and usually she wouldn't care, but now, after becoming his friend she was offended.
He was cruelly avoiding her, and doing a pretty impressive job at it. The only thing she could hope for was that it wasn't too obvious. She wasn't ready for another scandal.
Usually, she would let him call her, but after today she was feeling annoyed and bold. Although she was anxious, her brain had come up with the idea of calling him and now it wouldn't leave. She had to do it.
She wanted to cry. He had never been so mean to her. His voice sounded cold, not like his usual quiet softness he held with her. She knew he was angry with her, but why couldn't they be adults about it? Why were they now hostile?
"Uh... Nothing. Sorry."
She hung up quickly as tears fell down her cheeks. If it had been anyone else she was sure she wouldn't care, but her feelings were hurt. Madison had become attached to him, and now she had fucked it all up by getting drunk and making a stupid phone call.
fuck you lol ps i'm drunk

Madison hadn't planned on going to the OfflineTV house, at all actually. She knew there was a party but she really didn't plan on going, not after what had happened the night before.
But Rae had convinced her.
And Madison knew she would sulk all night long if she didn't go.
If it was just a small party, she didn't imagine what could go wrong, because frankly, she didn't care too much. She was sad, and angry, and she wanted to forget all of her problems.
She hadn't planned on getting drunk for a second night in a row, it just happened. Everyone else was drinking, she was just trying to join in on the fun and let loose a little.
She hadn't planned on posting on Instagram about it. Not at all.
She hadn't planned on calling Corpse to come get her. Not after today.
Not at all.
going to work now ;) bye...

Journey West 5000
With her parents murdered and her brother abducted, a trainee Monk of the Gun pursues the one responsible, the Bull Demon King, undefeated Warlord of the Crimson Army.Struggling to track down her enemy while braving the dangers of the wilds, she enlists the help of Sun Wukong, but 500 years under a mountain have taken its toll. Unstable and weakened, will he be more hindrance than help? Can he become the warrior he once was?A Monk and a Monkey journey across a world...... where the remnants of technology are seen as magic, while pockets of humanity strive to drag themselves out of ignorance.... where the descendants of animal-human hybrids, once created as instruments of war, now seek to dominate the world as demons.... where beings who call themselves Immortals and Gods preoccupy themselves with selfish pastimes, ignoring everything else. Among other things, a story about growth, grit, and being better than the person you were yesterday. Here's my rambling on why I'm writing Journey West 5000. Journey West 5000 is my crazy ambitious writing project to adapt a classic epic called "Journey to the West" for a global, modern audience. It's a sci-fi story disguised as fantasy, and has some road trip + monster of the week elements (as does the original Journey to the West). No system, definitely no harem, gradual power progression. Hmm, what else can I put here so potential readers know what to expect? My writing style for now is mostly "show don't tell", because I believe that readers don't need to have everything pointed out to them, and that they should be allowed to make up their own minds about characters based on the actions of those characters. I'm also trying to be less long-winded (a weakness pointed out by some friends) in order to write according to something Neil Gaiman said, which is to write as though I'm the one who has to pay for every word, not the reader. This will bring down my chapter word counts, and might drive away potential readers, but I believe there's value in learning to compress and be concise. All chapters posted here will have been edited. Constructive criticism, comments, and feedback would be very much welcome and appreciated. Please, please help point out any typos or grammatical mistakes, I'm striving to minimize those as much as possible. Above all, I hope you enjoy my story.

Paradise has been destroyed and two sides remain. Power is governed by special abilities called 'Talents'. Players that die respawn and must find a way to make an impact again. This is a story about regret and prosperity and a fight for what is right, even when everything points towards wrong. It is a story about a character's journey into herself through death, through betrayal, and through the game of war that will ultimately shape who she becomes. Everyone is an Angel in the world of Heaven and Hell, and at the same time, all of the Angels are gone.

Off the Vat
Sergeant Gonzal had a very good nose for trouble. But this time, rather than the Cloning vats, the reek of things rotting came from the Mess Hall. *** "Off the Vat" is a complete, very short novel (around 20,000 words across 7 chapters), inspired by the recloning mechanic that Sci Fi MMOs like EVE Online or The Repopulation use to explain why players respawn.
