《Harley Quinn x Reader Oneshots》No Choice

You had never really expected it to go this far. Just a simple visit to the Joker's club, that's how it started, just looking for a place to have a good night out. The Joker wasn't even there on the night that you first went. Harley had been there. And you just couldn't stop yourself from being attracted to the woman in the gold and black dress and with bright blonde hair that had pink and blue tips. After that first time you saw her, you started visiting the club more often, whenever possible, just to see Harley dance and eventually, the two of you started speaking.
You never expected it to go any further than that. Surprisingly, she always seemed to be there without the Joker these nights. Because you visited and talked a lot, the two of you became close. She even gave you her number and you had texted each other a lot. Then, one night, things went further. You'd ended up kissing her. It meant everything to you but it also meant you were in lot of danger if the Joker ever found out. He wasn't there in person but you knew he would have someone watching Harley to keep an eye on her. It was enough to scare you away for a while and you ignored her texts and didn't visit her.
That night, you changed your mind. You got ready and headed to the club. But something was different. He was there. Watching his queen as she danced up on the stage, with hundreds of eyes on her. You stayed and watched her until eventually she got off the stage. There was no point in you staying, the Joker was there so it wasn't like you could go and spend time with her, and you got up to leave. She had spotted you, though, and started waving. "(Y/N)! Hi!" she shouted. You nervously waved back. His eyes were fixed directly on you and you swallowed hard. "Hold on a second! I'm comin' to ya!" Harley shouted. You didn't say anything, just stared back at the Joker. Harley skipped over to you, a big smile on her face. "Hiya sugar! I missed ya so much!" She wrapped her arms around you, hugging you tightly.
"I missed you too." Your voice barely even came out as you hugged her back but you kept glancing at the Joker as his eyes were still locked onto you. Harley frowned when she saw your face and she followed your gaze until she saw why you were so nervous.

"Come on, let's go grab a drink!" She pulled you to the other end of the club where the bar was and sat down on a stool next to you. Now that he was further away, her mood changed and she immediately started glaring at you. You smiled nervously.
"Did I...do something wrong?" You tried to play it casually.
"Every. Single. Text. Ya ignored me! And ya stopped visitin'!" she shouted. "And right after we...ya know...what do ya think that did to my self esteem?" You sighed.
"Harley, I wanted to visit and text you, really I did! But do you have any idea of how much danger I'm in right now? With him? If he knows what I did, I'm not even going to leave this club alive!" She rolled her eyes.
"No one even saw us! He wasn't even there that night!"
"He wasn't but his henchmen were! Who knows who he sent to keep an eye on you?" you said, nervously. "I don't wanna get killed!"
"Ya won't get killed! Ya really think I would let that happen?" she snapped.
"Well, no! But you might not be able to stop it." She said nothing, just shot you another glare. You felt uncomfortable. "I gotta go...I was just on my way out when you stopped me and-" She stood up, angrily.
"If ya don't wanna see me, why don't ya just say so? I'll delete ya number and we never have to see each other again!" Tears were shining in her eyes and she turned to go but you quickly grabbed her hand.
"Harley wait! I do want to see you! But I also don't want any of us getting hurt." You sighed. "I promise I'll still visit and text you...even if he's here." She looked a lot happier then. You took another glance up at where the Joker was sitting and noticed he was still looking at you. "Harley...he won't stop looking at me," you mumbled. She bit her lip as she saw the way he was looking at you.
"Maybe ya right...maybe ya should leave it for now," she said quietly. "But ya have to promise ta come back ok?" You just nodded slowly. She smiled at you and hugged you. "Goodbye (Y/N). I'll text ya later," she said quietly.
After you had left, Harley went up to see the Joker. "Hey puddin'!" she beamed. He glared at her but said nothing to her. She tried again. "So...ya havin' a good time?" He glared even more, shutting her up.

Later that evening, Harley arrived home with the Joker. He turned on her almost straight away. "Who was that girl ya were talkin' to in the club?" he growled.
"Just a friend puddin'. Her name's (Y/N). She's really nice and-"
"And is she the same one ya been textin' with hearts and kisses? And saying to her that you hate being with me?" he snapped. He pulled her phone out of his pocket and angrily showed her. She gasped.
"Y-Ya took my phone? G-Give it back!" she said nervously. She tried to grab it and he slapped her hard. She winced as a stinging red mark appeared on her face. "Puddin' please! I'm sorry! I do wanna be with ya!"
"Prove it!" he snapped.
"Of course Mistah J! I'll do anythin'! Anythin' ya like, ya know I will!" she said desperately. A smirk played on his lips.
"Kill her." Harley froze.
"W-What?"
"Kill (Y/N) and prove you do love me," he said.
"Mistah J...I can't she's my-"
"I said DO IT! Unless you'd rather take her place?" he snapped. Harley quickly shook her head.
"N-No puddin'! I'll do it! Of course I will!" He smiled and took her face in his hands. He gently pressed a kiss to her lips but she didn't enjoy it like she usually would.
"That's my girl," he whispered.
---
It was the next evening. You were walking through Gotham. You pulled your coat tighter around you as it was a cold night. Harley found you as you walked down a new street and began to follow you. She trailed you for a while and you were completely unaware. Eventually you turned a corner and there was an alleyway nearby. Harley suddenly grabbed you from behind and pushed you down the alleyway, slamming you into the wall at the end of it. You turned around. "Harley? Oh my gosh, you scared me!" you smiled but it soon faded as you saw how serious she looked. "Harley?"
She sighed as she let you go and walked a few paced back. She pulled out a gun and pointed it at you. "I'm sorry (Y/N). I really am. But ya came between me and puddin'. I have ta do this now." You felt your hands slowly raise up.
"Harley...please don't do this..."
"I have no choice! Mistah J wants me ta prove my loyalty by killin' ya so that's what I'm gonna do!" she said, her voice cracking a lot as she spoke.
"But what about everything Harley?" you asked.
"Everythin'? EVERYTHIN'?! Oh please (Y/N) wake up. It's nothin' compared to what me and Mistah J have been through."
"But he hurt you Harley. So many times. That isn't love!"
"Shut up! Just SHUT UP!" There were angry tears in her eyes and the hand holding the gun was shaking.
"Harley...please calm down," you whispered. She was still breathing heavily but listened. "I know what we've been through is nothing to you. But it was everything to me. No matter what, I love you Harley," you said quietly. She no longer looked angry, she just looked upset.
"(Y/N)...I have no choice..." Tears started running down her cheeks. You started to cry too.
"There is another way! Don't shoot me and be with me instead! You promised that you wouldn't let this happen to me," you begged.
"I-I know!" she sniffled. "But if I don't kill ya, he will! And...and he'll kill me too." You didn't want Harley to die. You just slowly lowered your head.
"I can't let you die. Do it," you whispered.
"W-What?" She seemed like she had never expected it to come down to actually shooting you.
"Do it." Her hand shook for a while before she just lowered the gun.
"I-I can't," she whispered.
"Why not? You and the Joker...it will all be fine again," you said quietly.
"But...but it won't. Because...I'm not in love with him anymore. I'm in love with you..." You just stared at her for a while.
"Do you mean it?"
"Of course I do. (Y/N) I love ya! I love ya, I LOVE YA!" She dropped the gun to the floor and started sobbing. You slowly walked forwards and just wrapped your arms around her.
"Shh...it's ok Harley...I'm here for ya." She sobbed against your shoulder.
"I'm scared (Y/N)...he'll kill us both," she cried.
"It's ok. We're gonna be ok. We have each other now."

Until You Do It Right
The world ended on December thirty-first of the year two thousand and twenty, precisely at the stroke of midnight. The human race began to be systematically exterminated by the spawn of the System. We were given a chance to defeat them, to take back our place at the top of the food chain. We failed. The first to perish were those who bravely rebelled. The soldiers. The defenders. One by one, they fell. In their final moments, they begged for aid. Nobody replied. The next to succumb were those who feebly cowered. The deniers. The leeches. Together, they fell. In their final moments, they cried out into the darkness. Countless voices replied in kind. The last to decline were those who shamelessly ran. The deserters. The cowardly. Alone, they fell. In their final moments, they whimpered quietly. There was nobody left to answer. The final human to die was a survivor. A runner. As he died, he begged for salvation. His prayers were answered. He was offered a chance to save himself, along with all of humanity, and he took it. This is his story. “I sat in the dark and thought: There’s no big apocalypse.
