"John Larhk? John fucking Larhk?" I spoke.
"Oh, you're British too?" Walker commented.
"I've been speaking quite a bit, you've only just noticed" I shot back, furiously.
"John Larhk. What do you want with him?" Ethan spoke authoritatively.
This is why we lost touch. Or rather, you abandoned me for your work.
"I'm not here to be the life of the party, Ethan. I was sent here"
"Sent here?" The woman, whom I still didn't know the name of, butted in.
"Yes sent. Again, not here to work myself sweaty on the dance floor and to do the lines!" I replied sarcastically.
I was getting irritated by this woman's rude tone. The woman decided at that point she would ignore my entire existence.
"I'm on a mission, you know, my job. I was sent here to infiltrate a terror net group. We had prior knowledge that they had ties with Larhk. I was sent to retrieve any device he had on him"
I walked around the group and stopped to look down at the body of John Larhk.
"But I guess it doesn't matter now"
A large stocky figure appeared beside me and I looked over to see Walker.
"It is a bit of a mess isn't it"
A soft chuckle fell from my lips as he gave me a wide smile. We turned to walk back to Ethan and the woman to find them in deep conversation.
"It's good to see you too"
"I'm sorry, I'm confused you're an..." Walker started.
"Old friend" Ethan replied.
Walker shrugged it off as he picked a grey jacket from the floor, tossing it over the body. Both of them began to haul the body into a stall, and Walker excused himself to call an extraction team.
"Er, I think we'll need a sanitation team more than an extraction team, Salone"

As Ethan stepped out of the stall, he turned to the woman.
"You didn't answer my question, what are you doing here?"
Carter, getting frustrated that she still wasn't introduced to this woman. It bugged her knowing that someone in the room that she didn't know currently had the upper hand over her. She quickly stepped aside and pulled out her phone. Scrolling through the I.M.F files that she had swiftly hacked into, she found her file.
'Isla Faust. Ex-British Intelligence.
Long term deep undercover in a terrorist group:
Syndicate
Current occupation:
Syndicate'
She smiled an all-knowing smile, delighted that she wasn't the under-dog anymore, she wasn't weak and she definitely wasn't prey.
Suddenly, loud yells from a group of men neared the restroom door. Thinking quickly, Carter devised her plan. Just as they burst through the door, she threw herself over to Walker, placing one hand at the back of his head, and the other claimed one of his hands, bringing it up to his nose.
"That's it, there we go. Keep your head back until the bleeding stops. You'll be fine"
Ethan caught on quickly, shaking his fist furiously and charging up to the group.
"Vous en voulez, eh!? Vous en voulez plus!?"
Isla also reacted fast, stepping in front of Ethan, placing both her hands on his chest and pushing him back slightly.
"I don't think so, come on. Back off"
The bunch of men soon cleared the restrooms, and as soon as the door swung shut, my hands dropped from around Walker's face. A heavy sigh fell from my lips as my eyes found his. He shot me a playful smirk and a sly wink. I cocked my head to the side with a playful smile, before turning on my heel to see Ethan slipping the wrist ban from Larhk onto his own. He then stood by the less shattered mirror, adjusting his suit and brushing off some of the glass and dust. Walker had also noticed this.

"Wh-what are you doing?"
"I have a date to get to, with the White Widow"
"No no no, HE has a date with the White Widow and you look nothing like him"
Not that he looks like much now.
"Well then let's hope they've never met" Ethan spoke simply.
"Hope is not a strategy"
"You must be new"
Both me and Ilsa spoke in perfect sync.
We looked across at each other and shared a look. Not of disgust, but more of acknowledgement.
Maybe.
"We have no choice in the matter. Widow is our only lead so I just have to be John Larhk for 5 minutes"
Ethan continued, dismissing mine and Ilsa's brief encounter.
"Ethan" She called as he made his way to the door.
He looked at her impatiently.
"Don't do it"
This seemed to irritate him as he thrashed his arms around in large movements around him.
"What? What is it you're not telling me? What is it?"
"You don't know what you're involved in"
Okay cryptic bitch.
No. Don't go all judgemental, you only just met her.
"Well met is a loose phrase, I did have to do some digging" I spoke under my breath to myself.
"I don't know what I'm involved in? I, don't know what, I'm, involved in!? Go on then, enlighten me, what am I involved in?" Ethan countered, his temper flaring dangerously.
Walker cleared his throat loudly.
"White Widow. She'll be gone in 3 minutes"

Thomas doesn't remember what his last name was, before it became Bluebrim, a name belonging to another universe. He's also pretty sure he wasn't this stupid before he arrived, but what can you do, when a day that was supposed to begin with an interview to set your life back on track instead begins in a universe that makes no sense, with rules you can't begin to understand? Maybe he should have paid more attention to the avatar creation screen ... Content warnings: All of them. Seriously. Expect lots of blue screens to begin with. Don't expect a power-leveling fantasy, in which the lone hero beats up all the bad guys, and gets a harem of women. There's just a guy who treats character creation like an annoying series of pop-up advertisements, and the story is basically the ramifications of that. The main character has to learn to take the world he's found himself in seriously, and he'll learn the way most of us do, by doing it wrong first. This is, insofar as it is successful, a dark comedy fantasy. Also a bit of horror, particularly but not exclusively body horror. I'm pretty sure I've earned those Content Warning tags, so, uh, yeah. This is practice. Hopefully things improve as I go, and figure out what I'm doing wrong, but I make no guarantees things will ever get better. I've already made mistakes, I'll make more, and I'm happy to notice them each time I make them. You don't improve unless you fail. (On the plus side, it probably won't get much worse.) Feel free to point out anything you think I'm doing wrong; I don't promise to change anything, particularly if it's a matter of taste, but I am looking to improve, and figuring out what I need to improve goes faster if I don't have to try to figure it out myself. I've updated the earlier chapters for formatting, in the hope that it would make everything easier to read on mobile devices. Hopefully things work slightly better now, but please let me know if there are any issues anywhere.
