Y/N Pov
"Mom, Cinder?" I asked as I saw the two beside me.
"Y/N!" Cinder said, as she hugged me. I hugged back, but was still confused.
"What....What happened?" I asked Raven, as she looked at me, smiling.
"Well, Y/N, you sorta... Died" She said as I was even more puzzled. "But Cinder here, brought you back with her powers from Salem." She said.
"What did you do exactly?" I asked, referring to her powers. Cinder pulled away from the hug as she began to explain.
"I gave you some Grimm parts, and changed some of your genetics. You're still human, and function like one. But, most of your organs are Grimm." Cinder said as she put her hand on my chest.
"Oh, by the way, I hope you don't mind white hair" Mom said, handing a glass shard to me. I looked at it and saw my hair was pitch white. I'm gonna miss my (hair color) hair, but I'll live.
"Okay, so what now?" I asked standing up, as did they.
"I've had enough of these locusts. The second we find out where their hq is, we will all go and destroy them" Cinder said. I was in complete agreement.
"Okay I have one question... how am I gonna get Back up there?" I asked, pointing to the ledge.
"Well, now that you're part Grimm, you can use some of their abilities. Like the Nuckelavee's arms." She said pointing at my arms.
"So... like this" I asked as I tried to stretch my arm, as it transformed to the Nuckelavee's. I stretched it all the way to the top and grabbed it.
"Okay, let's go" I said as I began to climb. Mom turned into a Raven, and Cinder floated with her flames. As I reached the top, I climbed up and saw Sapphire, Mercury, Emerald, and Hazel were all standing there, looking at me in awe.

"Y/N!" Mercury yelled as he ran up to me, so did the others. "Man, I thought you were gone" He said as we first bumped.
"What happened?" Emerald asked.
"Long story short, I'm part Grimm now. Cinder has to do it to heal me." I said, as they all seemed to understand.
About that time, Cinder and Raven both reached the top. I looked from them over to Sapphire, who seemed very sad.
I started to walk towards her, as she had her head down.
"Sapphire, what's wrong?" I asked. She was silent for a bit until finally speaking.
"...It...It was my fault you almost died. I should never have let Dad come along. I just stood here like an idiot, a helpless screw up!" She said as tears began to fall. "I just stood here and watched you fall in that pit... like a little kid" She said as she weakly pointed at the abyss. I, seeing her distress, walked up to her and hugged her. She gasped at first, obviously surprised.
"It's not your fault, you couldn't have known. We'll get them back for this, I promise" I said, as she hugged back.
Timeskip
The next day, We all began to train and improve our skills. Mercury hadn't trained in a while, neither have I.
Sapphire, Mercury, Raven, and I were all training in the courtyard of my home.
"You three, Come here" Mom said as we obeyed.
"Let's work on endurance first" She said.
"Okay, What are we doing?" I asked.
"First, run around the whole house a few times" she said.
After we did, Sapphire and I were sweating like crazy, while Mercury seemed unfazed.
"Okay, next thing is only for You two" she said pointing at Sapphire and me. We walked towards her and sat down with her.

"Okay, I want both of you to concentrate. Think of all your power, then a bird." She said. Sapphire and I looked at each other in extreme confusion.
"The hell does a bird have to do with this?" Sapphire asked.
"Just do it!" She said, smacking both of us on the head.
I closed my eyes, then began to do so. When I thought of an eagle, I opened my eyes and saw.... I am an eagle????
I looked over to see Sapphire as I crow.
"Good job" Raven said as she patted our heads. Sapphire and I looked at each other in complete confusion.
"You get this power from Genetics. Y/N from me, and Sapphire from Qrow" she said as we nodded.
"Now, rest up. Tomorrow, we will all go to for a little family reunion" She said as she began to clean her blade.

Alive?
In the ruins of a once glorious city, a mage awakens. As the sole survivor(?) of the cataclysm that destroyed his entire species, he’s forced to adapt. While learning the intricacies of his new body, he must first carve out a place for himself in a familiar yet foreign world before he can set out to reclaim his heritage. I cannot stress this enough: the character is not human, do not expect him to react like one. I know the hand on the cover only has five finger, but I doubt I am going to find a royalty free radiography with two perfectly functional thumbs placed in a sensible way anytime soon. The rewrite is finished. Beta readers are welcomed and I am still wondering whether I should put the sci-fi tag or not.

[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Photo by Mae Mu on Unsplash -------------------------- This is my first story on Royal Road and my first attempt in general at writing Xianxia. As such I expect that it will need a lot of polish to get it to its final form, but for now I hope to keep up with NaNoWriMo and get something on the page. Until then I welcome comments and constructive criticism. Thanks for reading.
