《Don't Forget You're Mine || Jerrie》19

A/n: November 3rd was a holy day. It is one of the reasons I started this fanfic. SO MUCH jerrie happened. In this chapter, I didn't write about everything because it would be too much. There are iconic moments that are not directly mentioned here because every jerrie shipper knows them by heart. There are too many interviews and videos mentioned here, so I'll have all of the links up in the comment section.

And! I'm going back to school in a few days. I'm not sure how this is going to affect my updating schedule, but hopefully it's going to be okay. I'll keep you guys posted.

Holy chapter ahead. Enjoy!

Contrary to the darkness that currently wraps Los Angeles, LAX is lit with blinding lights. Jade, Jesy, Perrie and Leigh-Anne are all experiencing the same familiar feeling of exhaustion after a long flight, even though all four of them have managed to get more than enough sleep on the airplane. They are pleased to see that only a small number of people came to welcome them. There are a few fans waiting for them, but no photographers. Considering the fact that it is almost eleven PM, this is a decent amount of people. The four women take quick photos with everyone who asks, then go on their way to the cab which waits for them.

The ride to the hotel is short, and once they are inside, the four women receive the keys to their rooms. They take the lift, then Jesy and Leigh-Anne turn right in search for their rooms, while Jade and Perrie turn left. Their suitcases silently roll on the carpet as they are walking.

"Are you excited?" Perrie asks whilst looking at Jade. Jade nods her head in response, a shy smile on her face. "Time abroad is our time, remember?" Perrie giggles.

"There it is, two twenty three," Jade says as she stops in front a door. She looks over to Perrie and waits for her to get her key out, since it is Perrie’s room. "Sometimes I feel like this is such a waste of money that they're booking four hotel room and I never even know where mine is."

"Your conscience is clear tonight, then, because you're going to go to your own room now." Perrie says and slightly tilts her head towards her shoulder.

"What?" Jade tries to understand. Ever since August, the only time they have spent a night abroad apart was when they were in a bad place. Perrie and her might not agree on everything, but they are certainly not in a bad place right now. In fact, Jade feels like they are stronger than ever. "Why?"

"I might have planned a special night for us," Perrie replies with a small smile. "So you're going find your room now - was it two twenty five? It's probably close by - and in an hour, you can come to mine. But you have to knock before you come in! I know we usually don't do this but you have to knock, okay?" Perrie does not wait for a confirmation, nor any response at all. She looks around and spots Jade's room, then points at it before unlocking her own room and opening the door. "There were some stuff that I couldn't bring with me on the flight, so I'm just putting my luggage here and I'll see you in an hour." She kisses Jade's cheek, steps into the room with her suitcase in hand and closes the door behind her.

Jade is left in the corridor, surprised but not concerned. She is already looking forward to whatever Perrie is planning. Jade drags her suitcase into room two twenty five, and goes inside. She is not tired at all by now, and the last thing she would want is to take a nap. So instead, she takes a shower and puts a face mask on. After getting dressed, she enjoys the silence as she stares out of the window into the lights of Los Angeles in the dark.

Jade picks up her phone, and finds out that an hour has not passed yet. She lays on the bed, her back on the sheets, and scrolls through Instagram. She is logged into Little Mix's account, and briefly goes through the latest notifications. Most of them are the usual - likes, fans commenting compliments and tagging the group - but there are a few that catch her eye. They are talking about Perrie, and an exchange she had with a random account last week. Jade can easily find this exchange. It is a very vague comment, consisting only of emojis, which was made on one of Perrie’s posts. Perrie replied back with a few words and more emojis, and it is not clear at all what is going on.

Jade taps on the account's name, and soon finds herself at a man's page. It reads David Jack × Humour artist. Wanderman. Dharma bum. Less more. Based on a true story. A quick look through his posts is enough for Jade to notice that has got long hair, tattoos and plenty of confidence. He is exactly Perrie's type.

Jade does not understand. Could there be something going on between them? Is there more to this? Are they sending each other private messages? Are they texting? Jade really did feel a change lately, she felt like maybe Perrie started to feel the same as her. Was all of it so good because Perrie was actually flirting with someone else behind her back? Through unintelligible emoji combinations? This does not make sense. She calms herself down before jumping to conclusions. She remembers that Perrie herself was most likely cheated on during her last relationship, she knows how painful it is to be on the other side of this. Perrie would never do that to anyone else, would she? She would never do that to Jade, right?

Jade ponders these questions, but finds that she does not have a precise answer to any of them. All she can do is confront Perrie about it. Jade takes another look at the time, and sees that an hour has passed. She exits her room, and walks to Perrie’s door. She remembers to knock, even though it feels odd. There is no answer, so she knocks again. Two more times, and there is still nothing but silence.

"Pez?" Jade calls. She figures that Perrie had probably fallen asleep or forgot about her promise to arrange whatever it is she was planning, and it is not relevant anymore. Jade cannot help but be disappointed as she texts Perrie goodnight while stepping back to her own room.

"Jade! Wait!" Perrie’s voice is heard. A smile spreads on Jade's face as Perrie comes into sight. She is carrying two plastic bags filled with different items and is walking so fast she is almost running. When she finally gets to Jade, she is breathing heavily. "This took longer than I thought it would, I'm sorry. Could you wait here just one more minute? I swear it's going to be worth it."

"Yeah," Jade quickly replies. Perrie enters her room and smiles to Jade as she closes the door behind her. Inside, she quickly arranges the food she had just bought in the mini fridge, and since she feels bad for keeping Jade waiting for so long already, she walks towards the hotel room door and unlocks it.

"Welcome to your dream date!" Perrie proudly calls as she is faced with Jade's joyous brown eyes. She pulls Jade in, closes the door behind them and begins explaining. "I originally planned to decorate real nice around here, but it took so long for me to come back here and we're already running late so we're going to have to skip that part. Is it okay? I'm sorry that it's like that."

"Yeah, of course it is," Jade replies. She is yet to fully take in everything. She cannot figure out how she, out of all people, is lucky enough to have Perrie as her girlfriend. "What do you mean as in 'dream date'?" She asks as Perrie smiles and leads them both towards the small kitchen in the room.

"Organized people like you probably don't use this trick," Perrie begins with a soft laugh. "But one of the advantages of us being famous is that you can just google stuff and get an answer from Mr. Google. So you know, if I forget my sister's birthday or something - which happened before, not going to lie - I can just google it. I wanted to keep this a surprise, so I couldn't ask you, and instead I just asked Mr. Google what would be Jade Thirlwall's dream date. And do you know what? I got an answer from red haired Jeed in the X Factor house! You looked so cute, like a little baby! I could barely focus on what you were saying. So anyway, I hope your opinions about dates haven't changed much in the past four years."

"Was that that Mixers Monday video?" Jade asks with her eyes wide open and Perrie nods in response. "Pez, I don't even remember what I said there. This is going to be embarrassing, isn't it? Shit."

"No, no! Not embarrassing at all! Just a sweet, cuddly night for us," Perrie explains and takes Jade's hand in hers. "We're going to start with tea and biscuits, that's what you wanted. But it's even more special because we're making the biscuits ourselves, I got everything!" Perrie opens the mini fridge and starts taking food out of the fridge and placing it on the kitchen counter. "I never really made anything besides peppers so you're going to have to take the lead," Perrie tells Jade. Perrie then grabs her phone and searches for the recipe, and as she looks at the screen, familiar arms are wrapped around her from behind, and Jade's head lays on the crook of her neck.

Jade's breaths tickle on Perrie’s skin, and Perrie stops what she is doing and closes her eyes. Jade lays one soft kiss on Perrie’s skin, then another, and Perrie feels the pace of her heartbeat increase.

"Okay, we can do that later," Perrie says with a short laugh as she moves a bit. "We have a lot to do now, we're literally on a schedule. Let's just start with the biscuits, okay?"

"Fine," Jade replies. She smiles as she rolls her eyes, then steps away so that she is standing next to Perrie, in front on the counter. Jade takes Perrie's phone and briefly reads the recipe. "I need two cups of flour and a teaspoon of baking powder," Jade requests and Perrie prepares the needed ingredients. Meanwhile, Jade goes through the cabinets in search of baking equipment. She finds bowls, spatulas and baking sheets. "And where's the food processor?" She asks Perie. At the sound of this question, Perrie presses her lips together and creates a short moment of silence

"Hotels don't have that?" She asks whilst trying to keep a smile on.

"Most hotel rooms don't even have kitchens, so no," Jade replies.

"Well... fuck." Perrie says with a sigh in between her words.

"It's okay," Jade assures and laughs. "We'll just have to mix it on our own, it's going to take longer but it will be just as tasty." She picks up a spoon from the counter and begins to mix the ingredients that are inside the bowl. The two women continue to add more ingredients until dough forms while laughing together, touching the other's hand as if on accident and stealing quick glances at each other. They roll out the dough and cut it into circles, and soon afterwards the biscuits are ready. Jade makes them both tea and puts the warm, full cups on the small dining table, next to the biscuits, while Perrie is still in the kitchen.

"In your dream date, you wanted the person to take you to eat Italian for dinner time. We're kind of too busy for that, so I just bought us frozen lasagna from the store." Perrie tells Jade and puts the lasagna in the oven.

"This is the best kind of lasagna," Jade assures her with a laugh. Minutes later, when it is ready, both women sit at the dining table. The cheap chairs they are sitting on are unstable and the the table is too small for everything so Jade piled the biscuits up in a little tower, but neither Jade nor Perrie would change anything about this moment.

"Jade?" Perrie says before taking a sip of her tea and then putting the cup back down.

"Yeah?" Jade replies. Her eyes are shining and she has shy smile on. With the amazing view of Los Angeles

seen through the window behind Jade, Perrie could do nothing but stare at this sight all day.

"I wanted to say that I'm sorry," Perrie starts. "This is your dream date, but tonight is also me apologizing. It's about that thing with Jed - that day we were in Kent and he wanted to pick you up and I told you to go. I know you didn't feel like going, and I felt really shit with myself since then. I shouldn't have made you do something you didn't want to."

"It's okay," Jade replies after a moment. She is touched by Perrie’s words, they really do mean a lot to her. Sometimes, in moments like this, she actually has hope that this relationship might work in the long term. Perhaps this is the real deal. Knowing when and how to apologize is an important, mature skill. Jade never had that with Sam. She has finally got it, and so much more, now. So what could possibly be so terrible to tear Perrie and her apart?

"Good," Perrie replies with a satisfied smile. "You can cancel your date in Paris if you want, it's completely up to you. I get to enjoy you either way," she continues with a smirk that makes Jade blush.

"Yeah, I.... I'll think about it." Jade replies with a smile. She cannot be happy with this, not yet. Those Instagram comments she saw earlier are making her insecure, and she needs to get those out of the way. "Pez, I was looking through Instagram while I was waiting for you, and um, the fans were freaking out over this emoji conversation you had with this guy." She pronounces her words almost as a question.

"What?" Perrie asks, and only a few seconds afterwards she remembers. "Oh! Jack? David Jack, is that who you're talking about?" Jade nods her head, and takes a sip of her tea as a try to focus on something other than how nervous she is. "I don't know what's going on with him, I really don't," Perrie says and laughs. "I followed him a while ago, he followed back, we liked each other's posts and he just sent me a couple of emojis. I don't even know what they mean, this is seriously nothing."

"I don't like it," Jade replies. She feels childish and stupid saying these words, but it is the truth. Who would not want Perrie, after all? She needs to keep her close, especially since nobody knows that they are dating, and there is also a male model involved.

"Look, it's just random emojis," Perrie says and hands Jade her phone in order to show her these comments. Jade looks at them again, and then enters his page for the second time today. "He was literally stalking me, and I called him out on that, and that's how it all started. He's my Nick Jonas, okay? I've got a hot stalker too, are you jealous?" Perrie teases.

"Stop mentioning Nick Jonas," Jade warns. She tries to appear as serious about it as she feels, but fails and lets a smile creep in. "He does not matter, he's irrelevant. I'm not even sure he likes my photos anymore."

"Oh trust me he does," Perrie replies. "The fans let me know every single time. Besides, he's hot! I wouldn't mind, if I were you."

"Can we not talk about guys? This isn't a part of my dream date," Jade jokingly says, although she truly means her words. She moves her gaze back down to Perrie’s phone in her hands and opens the DMs with a playful smile on her face.

"I'll take care of it," Jade says. She types out a simple message to David Jack: why are u stalking me. After sending it, Jade hands Perrie’s phone back to her.

"What did you do?" Perrie asks, then laughs when she sees the message Jade sent. "Oh my God, Jade. I think he's going to unfollow me now."

"Good," Jade replies and leans over the table to kiss Perrie’s lips. Jade can tell, by the smell which fills the room, that the lasagna is ready. She takes it out of the oven and brings it to the table. Perrie and her each put a piece of lasagna on their plate, and Jade's voice sounds again. "I feel like we never get the chance to do nice things like this, just the two of us. We're always working, but we never really catch up. So how are you? Like, really?"

"Well, everything's pretty hectic. I'm packing up now. There's this huge pile of boxes at my mom's house and even a few in my hotel room in London. I'm moving in two weeks, and it's already stressing me out," Perrie replies.

"Wait, what?" Jade asks in confusion. "Where are you moving?"

"Back into the house I shared with what's his face," Perrie explains. "It's empty now, and I own half of it so there's no reason for me not to live there. I fucking hate living in this tiny space without my pets."

"Don't you think that it's going to be little.... hard? After everything you two have been through there?" Jade asks.

"Yeah, but everything's better than where I am now," Perrie replies. "And I've got you, Jade. I don't think about him anymore." She sends Jade a soft smile and touches her hand on the table. The contact ends too soon, because Perrie remembers something and grabs her phone. She turns the screen on, then her face falls. "I don't think that we're going to make it to Disneyland," she quietly says.

"Disneyland?!" Jade asks, and she sounds shocked. "We were supposed to go to Disneyland?!"

"Yeah, it's your dream date," Perrie casually replies. "But it closes at midnight and we need to drive thirty minutes to get there, so that's not going work. I'm sorry." She explains with comforting eyes.

"You have nothing to apologize for, Pez. Tonight is perfect," Jade assures Perrie with a light nod.

"It's not over yet, your dream date includes more," Perrie says and stands up. She walks over to her suitcase, which lays on the floor, and opens it. "You wanted lots of presents, but I only had time to get this one," Perrie continues and walks back towards Jade with a small bag in her hand. She hands it over to Jade, who sends her a questioning look, then takes a small, navy box out of the bag. She opens it, and inside there is a silver necklace with a heart locket. "I saw it the other day, and I knew it would be perfect for you. It doesn't have any symbolic meaning or anything like that, it's just beautiful and it could remind you of me, like if one of us is away or whenever you need it." Perrie takes the necklace out of the box and puts it around Jade's neck. The touch of her fingers leaves shivers on Jade's skin, and the cold metal only makes everything more lively.

"I love it, Pez. Thank you," Jade says and kisses Perrie. "I love the whole night, I really do." She almost tears up of happiness and just being so emotional as Perrie pulls her into a warm, loving hug.
