《One bite》18

The next morning Beca woke up and got ready for school. Today was Monday and they left for break Thursday. Once she was dressed she headed downstairs to see her mom.
"Morning Mom, what'd ya make?" She asked.
"Some pancakes, you can take them with you" she smiled as she handed Beca four pancakes on a paper plate.
"Thanks mom. Love you see you later" Beca called as she left the house and got in her truck.
As she pulled up to school she finished her pancakes and grabbed her bag. While she was walking over to her group of friends she noticed Chloe already there. As she got closer Aubrey's eyes fell on hers. The blonde quickly walked towards Beca, grabbing a fist full of her hoodie before glaring in her eyes.
"What up Posen?" Beca asked calmly, only pissing the blonde off more.
"Don't what up me Mitchell, what the fuck were you thinking?" She spat.
"I'm guessing this is about my conversation with Chloe last night" Beca said, taking Aubrey's wrist and pushing it back so she was released.
"Damn right it is. What the fuck were you thinking?" She repeated.
"I was looking out for our relationship in the long run, I also believe it's none of your business" she said pushing past her.
"Don't you walk away from me Mitchell!" Aubrey snapped.
"Already walking" she called back as she made her way between Jesse and Stacie who were trying to hold back a laugh.
"You've got some damn nerve" Aubrey said walking back to the group.
"I don't need you breathing down my neck" Beca shot back.
"I just want to know why the fuck you did what you did" Aubrey said.
"What? Ask for some space? Not sleep at Chloes like I've been doing every fucking night for the last two months or so? Not going to Tampa with her? I have good reasoning Posen" she spat.
"And what might that me?" Aubrey asked crossing her arms.
"Jesse, why did Mom and Dad split?" Beca asked, not removing her eyes from Aubrey.
"Dads drinking, arguing over Chloe being Bi and they spent so much time together it put a strain on their relationship" Jesse answered confused.

"Stacie, why did your parents split last year?" She asked again.
"Because they worked at the same place, never leaving each other. They were together literally 24/7 and it started to strain their relationship, they needed space." She answered, seeing where Beca was going.
"Two prime examples of relationships being ruined due to too much time together. Chloe might not feel it, but I do. Leaving her house the other night felt great and I never want it to feel that way again. She's still the love of my life, forever and always. I just don't want what happened to our parents to happen to me and Chlo. So before attacking me, understand why I did what I did." Beca spoke.
Chloe didn't speak during that whole confrontation. She stayed back, not knowing what to feel. When she heard Beca's reasoning, with the parents, she understood more.
"I'm sorry" she whispered, not meeting Beca's eye.
"Why are you sorry? You did nothing wrong love" Beca spoke softly.
"I didn't listen to you" she said.
Beca walked over and lifted Chloes chin so they looked eye to eye.
"You have nothing to apologize for love. What I said last night probably caught you off guard. I don't blame you for misunderstanding." Beca told her.
Chloe just nodded before hugging the brunette. Beca kissed the top of her head before giving her one tight squeeze and letting go.
Before anyone could speak the bell rang signaling first period. The group of friends headed through the double doors of their school and made their way to first block. Beca and Chloe were a bit more happy now that they both understood the other. Aubrey a bit less angry.
They went through the school day like every other day. As they made their way out of the building Jesse spoke up.
"We haven't hung out as a group in a while, what do you guys think about heading down to the lake and just relaxing?" He suggested.
"I'm in as long as everyone else is" Beca spoke up.
A few more people answered with a 'yeah' or 'totally', totes in Chloes case.

They all got in their cars and headed down to the lake to chill. Once they arrived Jesse and Benji raced to the water. The rest slowly made their way over.
Beca sat down on a fallen log as she watched the others have fun. She watched as Chloe smiled and laughed at something Emily said. She didn't even notice someone approach her.
"What ya thinking bec?" Jesse asked as he took a seat next to her.
"I'm thinking about Chloe, our friends, being a wolf and how much I hate it, thinking of a lot of things Jess" she told him as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Why do you hate being a wolf so much?" He asked.
"I hate it because of the danger. I wish neither of us had became a wolf. Yeah it's nice to run around the woods sometimes but that's the only plus it has for me. I constantly have to worry about you or Chloe, something happening. Trying to keep it a secret from Mom and our friends also sucks. I just want to go back to normal" she said.
"I'm not suppose to tell you this because of Jason but theirs a witch, about fifty miles north who might be able to turn you back" he told her.
"Really?" She asked lifting her head to look in his eyes.
"Yeah, because it's the venom from our bites that change people, there's a way to extract it, turning us normal. I can take you there over spring break if you'd like." He suggested.
"That'd be awesome. Thanks Jess. Would I still be able to know about pack stuff with you in it?" She asked.
"I'm actually thinking about going back to normal too" he smiled.
"Really? Why?" She asked.
"Ever since we both became wolfs I haven't been able to hang out with these weirdos as much. I have to be more careful not to hurt them when we fake wrestle or something. You're right about the danger. I'd just be easier" he shrugged.
"Wait back up, witches are real?" Beca said shocked as it finally caught up to her.
Jesse could help but let out a laugh.
"Did that just now hit you?" He asked still chuckling.
"Yeah it did. What other creatures are real?" She asked.
"Not sure. You don't really know until you encounter one. All I know is werewolf's and witches, but at this point anything could be real." He said.
"Spring break we become human again?" She asked.
"Spring break were human again" he smiled as Chloe approached.
"Jesse this was your idea why are you not hanging with us?" She playfully asked and the boy smiled.
"Had to get this grumps." He said with a nudge to Beca's shoulder.
"I'm not a grumps. I was enjoying watching everybody" she said.
"Everybody as in Chloe" Jesse smiled as he dodged Beca's swing to slap him.
"I wasn't only watching her." She argued.
"Come on Becs, it's okay to admit it. We all know she's your favorite" he teased.
"Wonder how you got that idea" she said with a roll of her eyes.
"Hmm I don't know. I think the treehouse sold it" he joked earning himself another slap.
"You're impossible" she groaned.
"I'll leave you be. I'll go see what Benji's doing. Bye Chlo" he said getting up and leaving.
Chloe waved as he walked past her before sitting beside Beca.
"What were you guys talking about?" She asked curiously.
"Becoming human again" she said chuckling silently at Chloes shocked reaction.
"You can do that?" She asked.
"Yeah apparently. Jesse knows of a witch a bit north who most likely can change us back" she said.
"Wait us? Is Jesse turning back too?" She asked and Beca nodded.
"That's great Bec, you can be normal again" Chloe smiled.
"It'll be great" she smiled back.
The two of them sat in comfortable silence for a bit before getting up and joining the rest.

A Tale From Azaad
Desperate and wandering, a young lord stumbles upon unknown knowledge that can help to overturn his peoples’ destiny. But can he rise to bring the prosperity his people need, or fall before it can ever take shape? AN: I hate writing synopses, so I'd recommend reading a few chapters before making a decision. Also, it's tagged as an isekai but those tropes don't appear. Warnings: I mention them, but there are a few chapters that are really gruesome. Furthermore, the innovations and advancements don't come into play until a lot later, though the framework for it all is built up early. Inspirations: South Asian history, Tales of a Reincarnated Lord and some of the histroical and kingdom-building stories on RR are inspirations for this work. If you enjoy politics, clever strategies, nation-building and technological advancement, then this story might interest you. Schedule: New chapter every Saturday at 3PM PST.
