《MOAS ; Coming Home》Chaos Theory

As Coulson, myself and Garner walk through The Playground, I angrily explain to him that he should do something about the ATCU keeping Inhuman's contained and against their will.
"We're not monsters. You can't just lock us up in some ice prison because you don't know what else to do." I tell Coulson.
"No one's talking prison. And, technically, it's a gel matrix." Coulson says to me.
"They're putting people in stasis!" I raise my voice.
"Think of it as a medically induced coma, a way to hit the pause button until we find a better solution." Coulson explains to me.
"'A better solution'. What does that mean?" I ask him confused.
"The ATCU's looking for a cure. I'm not suggesting that's for everyone, because it's not, but some people might want to-" Coulson tries to say, but I cut him off.
"-We are not a disease. We are people, we have rights." I tell him.
"I didn't say that you didn't." Coulson defends himself.
"You can't just expect people to go through that kind of change and immediately have a handle on it. Do you remember how scared we were at first?" I remind Coulson.
"Yes. I also remember Skye iced herself so that she wouldn't hurt any of us. You've got to admit, things are getting out of hand." Coulson explains to me.
"I know." I sigh lightly.
"People are changing in uncontrolled environments-" Coulson tries to say, but I cut him off.
"-I know, but everyone deserves a chance to be who they are." I say to him.
"That's where you're wrong. You're being seduced by your own experience. Just because you and Skye learned how to control your powers doesn't mean everyone else will. I mean, what if a person's hurting themselves or those around them? What... What if they can't stop?" Garner asks me as we step into the lounge.
"Take Lash. If putting a bullet in that monster's head doesn't do the trick, then what?" Coulson asks me as he begins to head to his office, and myself and Garner follow him.
"That's not fair. That's one guy. Most Inhuman's fall somewhere between me and him." I tell Coulson.
"And that's the message I'm hoping the president and his advisors will hear when I meet with them today." Coulson tells me.
"The President of the United States?" I ask him incredulously.
"It's off the books, but the global community's coming together to discuss the future of enhanced people. We're meeting at Norad in Colorado." Coulson explains.
"But S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't supposed to exist." I point out.
"That's why I'm going in as a consultant for the ATCU." Coulson says as we walk into his office.
"So Price-" I try to say, but Coulson cuts me off.
"-Arranged it, yes. We're taking Zephyr One, picking her up on the way." Coulson walks to stand behind his desk.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I ask him warily.
"We can't afford to miss it. That's why I want you to talk to Rosalind before the meeting. Win her over to your side of things." Coulson says to me before he sits down in his chair.
"I'm not S.H.I.E.L.D., Coulson." I tell him.
"Then don't speak as S.H.I.E.L.D., speak as you. Your thoughts, your words." Coulson tells me.
"And it might help if you can present a successful Inhuman case, one that's not an extreme on either side. Joey Gutierrez is due for reassessment. I'd be more than happy to check in on him, see how he's progressing." Garner explains, and Coulson looks to me.

"... This doesn't mean I'm with S.H.I.E.L.D." I tell Coulson.
"I can send you my report while you're in the air." Garner assures Coulson.
"Thank you for your help on this." Coulson thanks him.
"It's what I'm here for." Garner smiles before he leaves the office.
As I stand at the bridge with Coulson, Price and her men have just landed in a Quinjet above The B.U.S. as it flies. Price then arrives in the lounge with six of her men.
"Never walked onto a flying base before. Guess I can cross that off my bucket list. So, where does the tour begin?" Price asks Coulson.
"That's actually up to Lyra. She's gonna show you around." Coulson tells her, and Price looks to me with a light sigh, and she smiles at me, but I don't return the smile.
After Coulson parted ways from myself and Price, I begin to give her a tour of The B.U.S., and I begin to show her the Containment Module.
"I appreciate you showing me around like this." Price says to me.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. built this module to help those in transition. It's made out of adaptive material, so it can contain all sorts of powers." I explain as Price steps inside the Module "It's also bulletproof, which comes in handy when people like you shoot at people like me." I say to her.
"And you really think this is more humane?" Price looks around the Module.
"The Inhuman Program's goal is to observe people, educate them, and, yes, it can take time, but-" I try to say, but Price cuts me off as she steps out of the Module.
"-We don't always have that luxury." Price walks onto the landing bay.
"But throwing people away like they don't even exist is the answer?" I ask her incredulously.
"That's not what we're doing." Price tells me.
"Sure as hell looks like it." I state.
"Well, it's not that simple." Price states.
"Just admit it. You're afraid of people like me, afraid of our abilities." I step towards her.
"Absolutely. Do you even know your own strength? Could you take down this plane, for instance?" Price asks me.
"I wouldn't do that." I state.
"But if you wanted to? You could kill me right now." Price says to me.
"I don't need my ability to do that." I assure her.
"Mankind's scary enough as it is. Some psycho gets a gun, and watch out. But now people are their own weapon." Price explains to me.
"Not everyone is like-" I try to say, but she cuts me off.
"-'Some' is enough. That's all it takes." Price tells me.
"You only see the terrible things." I tell her.
"That's not true." Price disagrees with me.
"I protect people!" I raise my voice slightly.
"It doesn't matter." Price states.
"How can you say that?" I ask her incredulously.
"Because for every Lyra Johnson, there's a Lash, and it's ignorant for you to think otherwise." Price explains to me.
"When you wake up one day, feeling your trapped in something else's body, you destroy almost everything and everyone you've ever cared about and your own friends want to turn on you and put you in a cage to protect themselves... Do not come knocking on my door." I tell her before I turn away from her and leave.

After receiving the news from the pilots that a Quinjet has requested the to doc onto The B.U.S., I make my way to the lounge to inform Coulson, and when I arrive I see Coulson and Price standing almost chest to chest, but once they see my presence they step about five feet away from each other.
"We close to Norad?" Coulson asks me.
"No. Another Quinjet's requested to dock." I inform him.
After arriving back at the bridge, but this time with Coulson and Price, the Quinjet docks and we all look to the hallway to see Skye, Mack and Lincoln arrive.
"Lincoln, what are you doing here?" I ask him confused.
"Where'd you find him?" Coulson asks Skye and Mack confused.
"He came to me. He's got intel on Lash." Mack states,
"She ATCU?" Lincoln, raises his right hand slightly in referral to Price.
"We're working together now." Coulson assures Lincoln, and Lincoln looks to me.
"I'm not S.H.I.E.L.D. or ATCU." I assure him.
"We all want to catch that thing." Price states.
"I wouldn't bet your life on that." I warn Price.
"Well, Mr. Campbell, you've come this far. What do you have to say?" Coulson asks Lincoln.
"Those of us from Afterlife, we were trained to blend in." Lincoln begins to explain.
"Afterlife?" Price steps up to Coulson confused.
"I'll explain later." Coulson continues to look to Lincoln for him to continue.
"And yet that thing keeps finding us, killed most of my friends." Lincoln adds.
"Lincoln gave me names. I checked them against the bodies we could identify." Skye explains.
"That's how I knew Lash was using Jiaying's ledger to find us." Lincoln explains.
"Her ledger?" I ask him confused.
"She kept a genealogy of Inhuman's. She was the only one allowed to use it, until..." Lincoln hesitantly trails off.
"... Until S.H.I.E.L.D. recovered it. And there's only one person I know who had access." Mack explains.
"Dr. Garner?" Coulson asks Mack and Mack gives a curt nod, yes "But there's no way. It's not possible." He says confused and assuringly.
"I didn't want to believe it, either." Mack confesses.
"So you're not just saying Garner has the ledger. You're saying..." I trail off as reality shows. Garner is Lash.
"I saw May access his flight logs this morning." Mack states.
"I talked with her. She was upset, but I thought that she-" Skye tries to say, but Coulson cuts her off.
"-She and Andrew are missing. We just got word." Coulson tells Skye, Mack and Lincoln.
"Oh, God." Skye sighs in worry.
"Reroute the plane... New York. Pull all the satellite footage from the Cocoon. We need to find them." Coulson tells the pilots and crew, and Mack heads the front deck.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but... The president's gonna have to wait." Coulson says to Price.
"Whatever you need, I'll let them know." Price assures Coulson before Price heads up to the deck.
"Andrew wouldn't hurt her." Skye states.
"He's killed dozens of us, Skye." I say to her as even though I know Garner so well, small unusual things that he had done at The Playhouse begin to piece together and make sense.
"Yeah, well, what if he doesn't know what he's doing once he turns... He... He blacks out or something?" Skye asks us.
"Inhuman's can't change form. That's not how it works." Lincoln tells her.
"Lyra saw it herself!" Skye tells him.
"No, what I'm saying is, it's temporary. He won't always be able to shift between monster and man. He's still in transition. Becoming Inhuman." Lincoln explains.
"And when that transition's complete?" Coulson asks him.
"He'll stay Lash, permanently. The man you think you know is disappearing, if he's not already gone." Lincoln explains to us.
After locating May and Garner at Culver University, where Garner teaches, Lincoln and myself search the interior of the building, each of us taking at opposite sides of the building as Coulson talks to May and Garner.
"Sorry to interrupt. Still waiting on Joey's reassessment." I hear Coulson say over my com.
"Phil... You don't understand." I hear Garner reply through Coulson's com.
"I'm starting to. You all right..? We're old friends. That's why I'd prefer to see everyone walk out of here unharmed. But in case you got something else in mind, I'm not alone." Coulson explains.
"Containment module's secure." Mack states.
"Copy that. Hall team's getting into position." I tell everyone.
"He's not gonna come quietly." Lincoln comments.
"This doesn't have to go down badly. I'll make sure you're taken care of." Coulson says.
"I understand the position you're in... I do. And I don't envy it. But I am trying to help you. We've got an outbreak on our hands." Garner explains.
"What the hell does he mean by that?" Lincoln asks us.
"Calm down. Coulson knows what he's doing." I assure Lincoln.
"You sure about that?" Lincoln asks me, but I hesitate not to answer.
"I'm simply trying to sort the good from the bad. You gave me this job." Garner explains.
"That's a pretty poor interpretation of a therapist. Look around you. We're in some abandoned building, May's tied up... You're not okay." Coulson points out.
"I know how it looks, but I have a moral responsibility! You'll see, soon. I'm doing you a favor." Garner chuckles the last line.
"He's insane." Lincoln states.
"That's not true. He's just sick." Skye argues.
"The beast's gonna come out, and you can't control it." Lincoln tells us.
"Don't make things worse 'cause you got an axe to grind." Mack tells him.
"He's not just gonna let us take him. He's gonna defend himself." Lincoln tells us.
"Do not engage. We move on Coulson's order." I order them.
"I've only killed those who deserve it." Garner says before the lights flicker in the building. Lincoln.
"Who the hell made you judge, jury, and executioner?" Lincoln asks.
"What are you doing?" Coulson asks as I make my way to his position.
"You've got to get him out of here, now!" May shouts.
"Lincoln..." Coulson trails off as he tries to find the right words to say.
"You tore my friends apart. You have no right!" Lincoln shouts.
"That's enough." Coulson warns Lincoln.
"Lincoln." I warn him as I run to they're position.
"Calm down, Andrew, please." May says to Garner.
"I have every right." Garner states, ignoring May.
"Andrew, listen to me. We can help you. The ATCU is close to a cure." Coulson explains before I hear deep grunting.
"I am the cure." I hear a deep voice.
"No!" Lincoln shouts as electricity crackles over the coms.
"Lincoln and Lash are in the East wing of the building. We have to get him to the module." Coulson tells us.
"On it, sir." I assure him as I make my way to the East Wing.
"Our goal is to capture, not kill. We just got to get Lincoln on the same page." Coulson tells us.
"Could use a little help here!" Mac shouts.
"What's your twenty?" I ask him as I head down the East stairwell, but I get no response as I get to the ground floor.
"We got him." Price states, but I soon hear gun shots and I enter a clearing where I can look up and see the East Wing floor descend up. Price is then suddenly thrown off the sixth floor "Aah! Aah!" She screams as she falls.
I then swiftly take out three of my ring daggers with my left hand from my right thigh strap before I take one of the ring daggers into my right hand and I aim and then throw it at Prices right shoulder with the force of my ability flowing through the dagger, and it wedges through her shoulder and into the beam of the second floor, and she screams more as it pierces her and she hangs my the dagger. I then take a ring dagger in each hand before I use my ability to push myself up and off the floor, cracking the floor as I jump off beam and beam with my power until I reach the sixth floor balcony where Price was thrown off, and Lash is there as he turns to look at me.
I then wedge my daggers into his upper chest, and I twist them into his muscles before kicking his torso with both of my feet before I flip myself back wards, and I pull both of us off of the balcony as I release the daggers leaving them in his chest. Both Lash and myself then land on the ground at the same time, myself using my ability to land safely, and I land on my left knee with my right fist on the ground as Lash lands about thirty feet in front of me with his right knee on the ground and his left fist on the ground.
Lash then begins to roar in fury as he rips the daggers out of his chest with both hands, and in return I scream in resilience as we both begin to charge at each other with Lash building an energy blast in his right hand as I flow my ability into my right fist. As Lash's energy blast collides with my right fist, and I fight him off as I stand my ground against him, and I begin to overtake him as I force his energy blast onto himself with my ability, and I feel my nose begin to bleed.
"Aah!" I hear someone scream, and I look up at Price the see the dagger in her right shoulder cutting through her skin as gravity takes over.
I then put my left forearm behind my right forearm and begins to gather all of my ability towards Lash, and I feel his energy blast become stronger, and I create a fore-field around me as his blast circles me before I push with all of my ability, sending him smashing through wall after wall ahead of my until I can no longer see him.
"Aah!" Price screams as the dagger cuts through her shoulder and she falls, so I raise my right hand towards her, and she falls onto a force-field, and then I let her drop the last few inches onto the ground.
"... Thank you." Price thanks me as I wipe my bleeding nose with the back of my right hand.
Coulson then arrives and rushes over to Price as I crouch down the floor, and I place my right hand onto the ground, but hiss as I pull my hand away and see my palm and finger tips are slightly burned.
"Are you okay?" I hear Coulson ask, and I look up and I'm about to answer when I see he is crouching down in front of Price.
"Yeah." Price assures him as I place my left hand on the ground.
"I didn't know you could do that." I hear Coulson say as I flow my ability through my hand and across the floor of the building, and I open my eyes as I find Lash "Where is he?" He asks me.
"He's headed to the West wing, he's trying to escape." I say over my com as I stand up "We got to get him to the containment module... Now." I tell everyone.
"I'll get him to where he needs to go." Lincoln assures me.
"Be careful, Lincoln. I'm on my way." I tell him as I head through the broken walls I through Lash through, and Coulson begins to catch up with me.

Ravyn's Nights - Book 2
Claire's life led her to love. Love led her to death. Death began her eternal struggle to retain both her love and her humanity through 5 centuries of endless nights. Book 2 covers the 18th century. "Ravyn's Nights" is a six book series, with each book covering a different century. Book 6 was actually started first, and it takes place in the near future, bringing the story to a final conclusion. I then started writing the rest of the series when I decided that I wanted to share the details of the life that made her into who she is in Book 6. At the time of posting the first chapter of the series, books 1-2-3 are completed and books four, five and six are in various states of completion. There is currently a novella following a side character that does include a few crossover chapters featuring the main character. The novella will be included in the completed versions of books 4 and 5.

... And My Skillet
A long time ago, a child was born under the great blue sky. Many a Dwarf grumbled at the auspicious event, tugging furtively at their beards at this ill omen. A year later as the expedition had begun digging into the virgin hills of their new home, the grumbling of the doughty mountain people rose to a disbelieving furor when the yearling passed over the ritual offerings that would determine his lot in life. Instead, the as of yet unnamed child crawled over to a skillet fresh out of the fire and begun picking at the rock bread, unconcerned with the heat. Shouts turned into laughter, frowns lifted into craggy smiles. Upon placing a handful of the bread into his mouth, the infant’s face grew so grim and stony not even the eldest of the present Dwarves could match him. There was a durable ore within this babe, of that the Lore Keeper was sure. Yumly Ironhand was thus named, the beginning of his great tale immortalized on the rune walls of his clan’s history. “It’s pronounced Yoom Lee and no, rock bread isn’t a misnomer.”
