"Oh, come on Kookie! Even a blind idiot can see that Taehyung sunbae likes you." Bambam said with a 'duh' tone while Yugyeom nod his head too.

Jungkook groaned and gently hit his head on the table. Repeatedly. Yes, Jungkook used to think the same way too. But then why hasn't Taehyung said or done anything yet? They subtly flirt, or atleast Jungkook thinks they do. Taehyung is pretty touchy with him too, just like he had always been.

But there was no progress at all. After Jungkook's birthday party, he half expected Taehyung to ask him out on the next day itself. That's the vibe he got from the elder's behaviour. So imagine Jungkook's surprise and his disappointment, when Taehyung did nothing like that. Things were pretty much the same way like they had been for years.

To be honest, Jungkook was getting anxious day by day. Taehyung's 20th birthday is just around the corner and despite his assurance about not accepting his mate, Jungkook couldn't help but worry.

"Then why aren't he making a move?" Jungkook almost cried due to felling frustrated and both Yugyeom and Bambam gave a sympathetic smile.

"Well, why don't you make a move? Yugyeom asked in a curious voice. "I mean, it doesn't always have to be the top, you know."

Jungkook shook his head at that. "I don't want to. Its... kinda disrespectful for his Alpha. V won't like that."

Yugyeom and Bambam shrugged their shoulders at that. They were not at all familiar with the cultural etiquettes in the wolves community so if Jungkook says it's not appropriate, they will believe that.

"Tell me this again." Taehyung looked up from his book to see Yeri pointing a finger at him. "Why exactly aren't you going out with Kookie? You're whipped as hell for him."

Taehyung rolled his eyes at that. His friends have been pestering him about Jungkook for months now. All of them have been in the birthday party of the younger and had also seen his gift. Jungkook pretty much flashed it in front of everyone in the first few weeks.

They had also seen the longing look that Jungkook has in his eyes, everytime he looked at Taehyung. The other day, Hobi gave him an earful for being a coward and making Jungkook sad. All Taehyung's friends absolutely adores Jungkook.

"Not that it's any of your business, I have my reasons." Taehyung answered in a tight voice, making Yeri snort out loud.

"And what might those reasons be? Can't you see he's sad?"

"Look, I know you guys are concerned for him. And it's not like I enjoy making him sad either. But there are things involved here that you guys won't understand. Somethings are different in our world than in yours."

Yeri and Hobi didn't say anything after that. They looked at Yoongi, as if asking him to share some light on the subject but Yoongi just shrugged his shoulders. He may be a werewolf but he had no idea about the circumstances around Jungkook's mate as he had moved in to the pack later. His mother had married one of White Claw pack member and Yoongi was 12 years old at that time.

After class that day, Yoongi decided to have a talk with Taehyung. He didn't want to pry but as Taehyung's friend, he felt that he should offer his support, in case it was needed. So he called Taehyung when the class was over.

"Tae." Yoongi waited till Taehyung turned to him and he waived Hobi and Yeri to go ahead without them. "Can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Sure. What's this about?"

Yoongi wordlessly led them outside, and out of the earshot of any werewolves as they have heightened hearing abilities.

"It's about Jungkook." Yoongi noticed the way Taehyung stiffened a little at that. "You like him right?"

After a few seconds of silence, Taehyung answered with a resigned voice. "No. I love him."

"Ohh.." Yoongi didn't expect Taehyung to say it so bluntly. "Then what's stopping you? He clearly likes you too. Is it his family?"

"No, it's me."

Yoongi waited patiently till Taehyung was ready to tell him. After about a minutes, Taehyung spoke up.

"I'm just waiting for my mate."

Yoongi's eyes widened with that statement. "Y-you're gonna accept your mate over Jungkook?"

"No! Of course not. I just want to apologise to them, before I can fully commit to Jungkook. Whoever they are, I owe them atleast that."

"Oh.."

That was all Yoongi could say. Of all the reasons he was assuming, this one never occurred to him at all.

"Yeah. My birthday is in couple of days anyway. I want to see if it is one of our pack members. As their future leader, I have a responsibility for them. I'll just want to do the things the right way."

Taehyung stopped the car near Jungkook's home and shut-off the engine too. Jungkook looked at the elder and gave a smile.

"You're coming in, right hyungie?"

Taehyung shook his head to say no and could see the younger's smile falling and a pout taking its place. He raised his hand and poked one of Jungkook's cheeks with his finger.

"Don't pout, Koo. I just have some work that needs to be done."

"You always have something to do these days." Jungkook retorted back, pout still prominent on his face. "You don't have time for me anymore."

The accusation might have sounded simple but Taehyung knew it had more weight than that. He had been avoiding Jungkook a bit, specially instances for them to be alone. Jungkook had become little bold in expressing his feelings through actions and Taehyung didn't think he would last long against the younger's cute attempts.

"Hey.." Taehyung called in a soft voice but Jungkook kept his head turned away, looking out the car window.

He was half frustrated and half mortified, and he didn't want Taehyung to know either of it. Taehyung removed his seat belt and leaned a little closer to Jungkook. He gently held the younger's chin, and turned his head toward himself.

"Are you mad at me?" Taehyung stroked Jungkook's cheek with his thumb and watch as the letter blushed to a deep red.

"A bit.. maybe?"

Taehyung sighed in dismay before speaking up. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay. I just don't understand why..."

"I know, Koo. I'm really sorry."

Jungkook trapped his lower lip with his teeth and started to nibble on it. He was nervous, but at the same time, wanted to know the answers to his questions too. This seem like a good time as any.

"But hyungie.." Jungkook looked up at Taehyung with questioning eyes and the latter gulped a bit at that. "I thought we... you know, after the party... I just... why?"

"Give me few days, Koo. Everything will be okay after that. Just... till my birthday." Taehyung watched as a confused and surprised look came on to the younger's face. "Can you do that for me? Hmm?"

Jungkook didn't say anything and just nodded his head. The soft smile on Taehyung's face gave him immense hope of what might happen on that day. It was only few more days, he can wait.

Taehyung ruffled the younger hair affectionately. "Good boy."

And as expected, Jungkook blushed furiously at that pet name. He coughed a bit and tried to find something to distract himself with. But it was Taehyung who came up with something.

"So..." Taehyung started off in a teasing voice. "What will you give me for my birthday?"

Jungkook chuckled a bit at that question, before speaking up with an equally teasing tone. "I'm not telling you that! Why, does hyungie have something on his mind?"

"Hmm... nothing like that. And I'll surely love whatever you give me."

"Okay.."

They both chuckled at this childish behaviour, before Jungkook open his door and got out of the car. Taehyung lowered the window and both looked at each other for few seconds.

"Bye, hyungie."

Taehyung gave a smile and a wave from his hand as response to that. Jungkook smiled again before turning around and starting to walk toward his house but Taehyung's voice stopped him.

"Koo!"

Taehyung waited till Jungkook walked back towards the car, with a questioning gaze. "I forgot to tell you something."

"Huh? What is it, hyungie?"

"I will have a gift to give you on my birthday too."

If Jungkook was red-faced earlier, he turned absolutely crimson at that. Taehyung waived again and watched at the younger turned around and walking to his house for the second time.

A loud squeal was heard just before the door to Jungkook's house closed, making Taehyung laugh in happiness too.
