Most people say their first words when they're around one or two years old.

Most people don't see war until they're eighteen or twenty-one years old, if at all.

Mama or Papa or both would hear them first and then they'd call up their whole fellowship and everyone would get all excited. They'd cheer and cry and they'd all tell stories about that day years later.

They'd pick up a trade, meet a fellowship, find a romance and build a fruitful life of their own in a city of peace.

But...

But...

I said my first word at twelve years old.

I slew my first victim at twelve years old.

And there was only one person there to hear it.

And there was only one person who kept me going.
