《Finally Happy》Chapter 26

Looking through his closet, Naruto sighed. The conflicting ideas of going and not going to school swirled through his head. Fear settled into him, thinking about the horrible moments that happened.
Just thinking about it made the blonde shiver.
'Fuck them! I'm not going to be scared of them anymore. I will fight back!' Naruto thought determinedly as he thought about what he would do when he went to that hell hole. Nodding his head in approval, he suddenly realised something. His eyes widened to whole new proportions and he ran down the stairs to find Sasuke.
Reaching the living room, after stumbling down the stairs, the blonde saw the raven boy sitting on the couch...
'The couch where we kinda cuddled...' Naruto thought before he blushed.
'What the fuck!? The hell is wrong with my brain!' He screamed internally.
Naruto stood there staring at Sasuke, looking at every detail of the heart throb.
His long bangs that framed his face perfectly.
The paleness of his alabaster skin.
The muscled yet slim bo-
"Staring like that at me almost makes me think you might be in love with me." Sasuke's voice cut through his reluctant thoughts as the said raven-haired boy turned to face Naruto and smirked. The blonde blushed a deep red and turned his head away in embarrassment.
"Pffsh! A-as if! No one does!" Naruto huffed
"Hmm... That's not what you said 3 days ago." Sasuke smirked again, enjoying seeing Naruto squirming.
"I only said that because you looked like you were going to cry!" Naruto retorted back, grinning at his comeback
Sasuke glared at the blonde, "Was not. Like I'll cry for stupid shit like that." He smoothly answered.
"Was too!" Naruto grinned as he bounced onto the couch.

Sasuke rolled his eyes at the blonde's petulance. "I'm not playing this game with you dobe."
"Teme!" Naruto angrily puffed out and pouted. Looking at the blonde, Sasuke couldn't help but smile, the corners of his mouth turning up. The raven saw that Naruto was fidgeting a bit, playing with his fingers and trying to say something.
"Is there anything you want dobe?" Sasuke asked. Naruto stopped fidgeting and smiled uneasily before trying to form his words properly.
"Um... How are you going to act once I start going to school?" Naruto turned his head to the side right after saying that, not wanting to see the teme's reaction.
Sasuke was speechless. He continued to look at the blonde.
'I never thought about that... Shit!'
There was silence between the two. The raven was too involved in thinking. The blonde sat by his side, agitated by the silence. Naruto sighed.
"You don't after to answer that. We can go back to normal you know? Act like you hate me. It would be easier right?" Naruto said, hating every word that was coming out of his mouth.
Sasuke could feel his heart break, hearing the words that were being said.
'He considers what we were before as... normal?' Sasuke cringed at that thought.
"I'll do anything you want Naruto." The heart throb answered back. "Anything that makes you comfortable." He slowly placed his hand over Naruto's tan one and clutched it softly. The raven turned away, a light dusting of pink on his face. Naruto looked in surprise at their intertwined hands and smiled sadly, wishing it could be like this forever.
"I..." Naruto began to speak. Sasuke turned to face him, listening carefully.

"Maybe it would be best if you... ignored me at school? Not exactly hate me but pretend I don't exist?" Naruto said quietly. Sasuke nodded in affirmation showing no emotion, but internally he was frightened. Sasuke knew it was going to be difficult to act like he didn't care but for Naruto, he would try if it was what the blonde truly wanted.
"Then maybe everybody else would back off and leave me alone. Hopefully." Naruto said as he sheepishly smiled, trying to cover up his sadness. The blonde continued before Sasuke could say anything.
"I mean, it works for both of us right? I won't get picked on and no one would question you?"
Sasuke nodded, not looking at his blonde.
"Guess you actually have a brain after all." The raven said, trying to lighten the situation. Naruto glared back at the bastard and shouted out a loud "Teme!" Sasuke just smirked before his face contorted to a dull sadness.
"In all seriousness, that would be best. About Neji, I can make him work with me. The problem is Sakura." The thought about that pink-haired girl, made Sasuke seethe in anger.
Naruto scratched his head while thinking of solutions to 'that' problem.
"Maybe she might think it would have been fake to clear her conscience." Naruto laughed at that thought. "You know, like deny it ever happened?" He said, grinning.
"True." Sasuke said back, hailing at that idea. A comfortable silence stretched between the two.
"Is that all you wanted?" He asked, his pale hand still holding Naruto's.
"Uhhh.. Yeah!" Naruto said cheerfully. "Guess I'll get ready for tomorrow." The sunshine boy said sombrely. As Naruto tried to get up, a small pull on his arm made him turn to the raven.
"Yeah?" Naruto asked in confusion.
Sasuke had his turned away from the blonde, but he was mumbling something that whiskered blonde couldn't decipher.
"Ugh! Teme speak up!" He said, not up for cracking to code to what the bastard was saying.
"I was trying to say sorry okay!" Sasuke whipped his head, to glare at his friend. The raven sighed, looking down at the ground.
"I'm sorry for what I did. I just want you to know that." He said softly.
Naruto looked at him in shock but it morphed into a small smile. Gripping his hand tighter, Naruto said...
"I could never hate you teme. No matter what, I still c-cared for you."
Sasuke smiled sadly, knowing how Naruto was by nature. Never a hateful person.
"Do you forgive me yet?" The raven asked.
Naruto grinned evilly,
"Now about that... Maybe if you bowed down and kissed my feet..."
"Dobe!"
