《Finally》Chapter 20

I walk the stairs to my mom's apartment. I had practice what I was going to say to convince her to come to dinner. I enter the house. It's dead quiet.
"Mom. Mom?" I walk around the small apartment.
"I'm here. Sorry I was in the bathroom. Well what are you doing and with no Amelia? I wanted to see her." My mom walk out the kitchen to come and greet me.
"Hi mom." I hug her tightly.
"Sweetie." She squeezes me too.
"She's with Aiden. I just stop by so talk to you. It's important." I take a deep breath. I'm. Just going to let it out. Rip it away like a bandage.
"I'm getting married." I close my eyes Covering my face with my hands.
Silence.
I wait a moment , before I slowly uncover my face. I look to my mom. Huh.
The look on her face was not what I expected. She has a small smile company by a look of 'I know'. I raised a single eyebrow at her.
"Lisa Aiden had already come by and told me of his intentions. We talk and I gave my blessing." My mom says. I walk away from.
Shaking my head.
"Mom you didn't even ask my opinion on this. What if I didn't want to get married? Huh. You know how I feel about marriage." I try to hold my anger.
"Sweetie look I think Aiden is great for you. He's very kind and cares for you. Probably you'll learn to love-" I cut my mom off
"You don't learn to love. Never learn. Love can be taught. Love is like a plant. Once you plant the seed it could either bloom with care and love it or let it slip away without care. Love can grow with care and affection or wither away but it will need help from both parties." I glare at my mom.
"Well then you at least having feelings for Aiden."
"That's not the point. You know how I feel about marriage." I pace around the small area.
I feel my mom's hands on my shoulder. She kisses my temple. She easily towers over me. Her thin arms around me.
"I know how you feel. But Aiden isn't your father and so that reason you won't be treated like he did. Aiden will make sure to make you happy. You will be safe." My mom hugs me.
Whispering words of comfort. I soaking up her warmth.

I hope.
We stand holding each other before we broke apart.
"Mom I was wondering if you wanted to come to dinner with me and Aiden. I will go eat with his parents. His mom said you could come. Please come with me." I ask my mom.
"I don't know. I have nothing to wear beside that's not really my scene."
"Please. Come on." My mom ponders for a while.
"Fine."
I laugh. "Yes. Okay we'll come to pick you up at six-forty five. Ok." I hug her goodbye before I leave. I walk the short distance from the apartment to a park. I sit in one of the benches. I need a moment to myself.
Ok Aiden said that this marriage doesn't have to last. That if we can't work out ,we can just divorce. What about Amelia what if she gets attach to much to Aiden. What is in turns of events he wants to take Amelia away from me. No. That won't happen. She'll interfere with his activities. Or. OH MY GOD. Is he going to be faithful during our marriage? He said yes but knowing his reputation. Who knows. Probably not. I don't want to live a lie. I just want love. Is that really too damn much to ask!
I drop my head in my hands. I just need to think. Think, think.
I feel a light tap on my shoulder. I look up to the familiar face of the stranger from the park. He has a cheerful smile.
"Hi." I say.
"Hello. Well it must be fate. We keep running into each other. But a pleasant run in." I laugh at the man.
"Why, yes." I giggle.
"We have seen each a few times but I have yet to catch your name." The man takes a seat beside me on the bench.
I stretch my arm for him to shake. "Lisa Grey."
"Gabriel Woodworth." He takes my hand and gives me a firm shake. I smile at him.
"Well I have to go but it was nice seeing you and meeting you properly." I stand up and walk away just as then I hear Mr. Woodworth.
"I hope we meet again." He calls out.
"Of course." I reply. I get on the bus and go to Aiden's house. The whole ride to Aiden's I try to calm down. I'm meeting my fiance's parents. Wow. The word sounds foreign to me. I giggle.

The lady next to me looks at me oddly. I shrug. I get up to get off. I walk fast trying to get to Aiden's house. I have to get ready so does Amelia. I unlock the door. I close the door behind me turning around with a big smile.
It's wiped away pretty quickly.
Standing in the middle of the entrance is none other then Aiden standing in what appears to be in a face eating contest. They break apart when they hear the door close.
I knew it.
I knew it.
I knew it.
I KNEW IT.
Aiden couldn't even stay faithful for a baby. Heck, we're not even married yet. That is if we even get married. I let out a humorless laugh. Wow. I shake my head.
Aiden shoves the girl to the side and comes to stand in front of me.
He's faces inches from mine. Shock and anger. Anger? I shake my head. His mouth is moving but I can't hear a thing.
What?
"-It's not what it looks like. She just came unexpected. Lisa. Lisa, are you listening." Aiden's rambling is coming though. I look over his shoulder. (Which is kinda hard considering his height and mine.) The platinum blond standing straight looking right at me. Triumph written all over her face. She cleans her lips. Smirking. She has a tight red dress. Her chest looks as if it was about to pop out. I look back at Aiden. He's silently begging me to believe him. I simply stare. A noise emerges from his throat. His eyes burning with anger. I'm taken back by it. I step away from him but quickly brought back with a tug. I try to get away but he simply holds me tighter. I'm fighting him but he there in no point. My breath are becoming in pants. My heartbeats are loud I'm sure Aiden can hear them. I swallow. "Let me go." I beg. Surprisingly he does. Only for him to walk to the blond yank her by arm and brag her.
"You ever step a foot in this house and you'll regret it forever. Never come here again. Do you understand me." Aiden hisses. I have never heard him talk like that ever. I move out the way when he shoves her out the house. She barely manages to catch herself.
"Fuck you." She hisses. She stomps away and leaves with as much dignity as she had.
"Bitch. I don't want to get fuck by a use fake ass plastic barbie doll." Aiden yells before slamming the door. I gasp.
Aiden takes a hold of both of my biceps. He then runs a hand through my hair.
"Look she just came up to me and-" Aiden excuses just anger me more.
"No. Just stop. You don't have to explain to me anything. Beside we are just getting married because of the deal otherwise we wouldn't even get married. Ok. Where is my child." I look everywhere but Aiden.
He growls. I jump.
"Our child." He snaps.
"Mine." I retort. I step away and go up the stairs. "Look let's just get ready to go to your parents. Oh and my mom said she'll go too. So excuse me I have to get ready." I don't look back as I go up the stairs. Once I enter my room I'm surprise to find a crib. A big white crib with pale pink roses draw on the legs of the crib. I come to a snoring Amelia. The sound filling the quiet room. I lean on the crib. Looking down at the angel I was bless with. A small droplet of tear slips and land on Amelia's pink chubby cheek. She stirs in her sleep. I lean and kiss her cheek.
"I will love you forever. No matter what people say. You are my world and forever will be. I just need time to prove that I can make you understand together we're everything." I sing to Amelia.
"That's a beautiful song." I jump at Aiden's voice. I turn to find him learning against the door frame.
"Thank you. It's was like my mom's lullaby." I stare at the ground.
"Lisa-" I cut Aiden off before he can speak.
"Aiden I really need to get ready so if you can..." I lifting my hand dedicating if he could leave. He lifts he hand but I just shake me head. I would close the door but there is not much left.
"This isn't over."He backs up and leaves. Once he's far away I back away to get ready whispering some words. "We'll see."
