《The Princess' Messenger》Part 7

"Are you punishing me, right now? I didn't even do anything. It's them", he whined. "Aren't you getting a bit brave?" you asked him. "Does that matter? Anyway, I am not going to work for you", he pouted. "Will you let me finish in the first place?" you asked him.
He blankly looked at you. "I want you to leave and give my letter to Kim Taehyung. I want you to move to the Southern island", you said. He couldn't control his happiness. At least you didn't send him away.
Still, he was contemplating whether it would be a good idea to leave you. "Princess, but will it be okay to leave you? Looks like they are determined about something", he said. "Don't worry! They can never touch me.
Once you leave, I will move in with my parents. So that I will live directly inside the palace", you said. "Still, will it be safe?" he asked. "What worst possibly they can do? Poison me, maybe", you chuckled. "Princess!" he was shocked. He didn't like what he was listening to.
"The King and the Queen are living inside the palace. You think that they will do something to me", you just chuckled. "Your jokes are not so", he trailed. You could see a visible pout. "Jungkook, I am sending you away not because I don't trust you.
I am trusting you more than I should. Deliver the message and explain the situation to Taehyung. Bring him here somehow", you said. "Don't come back without him", you said. If it was someone else they would have found it scary. He found it cute.
"I will try my best, Princess", he said. He was still trying to put you in the high place of a sweet Princess in those stories. But you were so protective about your family. You never cared about anything or anyone.
He felt like once he brings Taehyung to you, definitely Jungkook will be put out of your sight. "Why are you still standing? Are you trying to compare me with whatever she said to you about me?" you asked.

"I- not that Princess. I mean I can understand her", he said. "You understand her?! You are saying that to my face", you were angry and disappointed. "I mean, for someone who has ignored all her life", he muttered. "What do you know, Jungkook? What do you know about us?" you fumed.
"Princess, it doesn't change the fact that you were the one who separated Namjoon and her. You think you are protecting them but what about their feelings", he questioned. "You think Jimin and Chang Mi are real siblings.
But they are not. Chang Mi came to them when she was young. Her parents passed away. Jimin's father was kind enough to raise her. One day, some people claiming to be her family came and took her with them for a few years.
She came back again but the girl we knew", you paused. Jungkook was taken aback. "This is why Jimin doesn't defend his sister", he thought.
"After digging into the sources we found that she belongs to the royal family who was our enemy, who lost their land to us and are now plotting something against my brother", you said. "But that doesn't mean that she could harm your brother.
They might have liked each other a lot", he said. He briefly put himself in her position. You read his mind. "You are thinking that I am selfish, the one who desires to keep this wealth and prosperity to herself.
Living as a Princess and enjoying every privilege", you said. He looked at you with a bit of guilt. You exactly said what she said about you to him. "Fine, let me step down.
Let me not care whatever happens to this Kingdom. Who knows what would have happened if she became the Queen. She would become a powerful person. What if she lets her men in? What if she takes revenge?
I will flee away somewhere or marry a Prince to escape when the situation becomes hard. My brothers will either fight or die or go somewhere hiding. What will happen to them?" you pointed at the people out there. "Look at them", you said.

He saw how people were happily selling, trading and kids playing. Some young couples are in love. "We have to think about and care about these thousands of people. They rely upon us. We have a huge weight on our shoulders", you said.
He looked down a bit ashamed. "How come I never thought about those things?" he said. "I can't imagine the darkness and blood covering the streets. You know what happens when a war breaks out better than anyone", you said.
"Why am I even explaining everything to you? As if I want to prove my point", you walked away. He caught your wrist. You immediately turned. No one dared to do this to you.
He immediately left your wrist. "I am sorry, Princess", he apologized. "I let myself fall for her words. I didn't think from your perspective", he said. "Don't be. You were the only one who didn't sway by her words and immediately joined your hands with her", you said.
"Also, sorry to touch your hand without permission", he scratched his neck. You laughed. You didn't even know why it was funny to you. You felt so comfortable around him. That's a warning sign to your heart.
He shyly smiled as well. "Look at your face. No wonder why she tried to take you in so desperately", you said. "I know I am handsome, Princess", he said. "You think so highly of you, don't you?" you chuckled.
"You look like a fool when you laugh", you mocked. It was a lie but who cares. "You can admit that I am handsome. You can be a bit honest", he pouted.
"Stop playing. You have to go tomorrow", you said. He bowed at you and went all smiling. His respect towards you multiplied. "Two women, equally powerful, but they fight for different causes", he mumbled. You took a deep breath. "Will it be that bad to give my heart to him?" you asked yourself.
The next morning, he got ready. The reason for his departure was different. He was going to bring medicinal plants in an attempt to improve King's health. You gave the letter and a ring to Jungkook.
This ring is the proof that I sent you to him. He will immediately recognise this ring. Never lose it. You gave him. He got it from you. "Don't worry, Princess. I will bring him", he said. "Thank you", you said.
"It's my duty, Princess", he said. "I thanked you for staying by my side", you said. You were a bit sad that he was leaving. "I would always stay by your side", he said. But, it sounded different. "I mean by the King, your family", he added.
"Stay safe. Don't get caught anywhere by the general's men. I have a special order from the King to let you anywhere in the name of bringing medicine", you said. "I understand, Princess", he said. You nodded as well.
He took his horse. It was early morning but still, you could see the rays of sunlight falling. You came to your balcony. He left the house. You saw him going towards the entrance. A turn and that's it he will vanish from the sight.
It's not like you won't see him again but it's going to be hard. He never once turned to look back. But when the horse took a turn. He looked at your house, especially your balcony. You smiled a bit.
His gaze was intense. He disappeared behind a building still looking at you. Unknowingly, a tear left your eye. That's the moment you decided, he is yours. No matter what, you are not letting him go from your life, especially your heart.

Fade
The story follows the life of John Grimshaw. From tragic beginnings to hopeful ends, John embarks on a quest for meaning. When visiting the cemetery he meets a girl named Jennifer Stone, a youthful teenager who quickly becomes a safety raft for John in turbulent times. But nothing could have prepared John for when he met the man in the pinstripe suit. The man with bright eyes, dark skin, and gleaming white teeth. The man claiming to the impossible and break the thin ice below John's feet entirely. (ADDITIONAL DISCLAIMER) This story starts off relatively dark. Those who dislike subject material surrounding loss, depression, grief, should probably not read. With that said, the story evolves into a supernatural thriller past the initial chapters. It’s a comparably low fantasy for a website like this but hope some of you still enjoy it.

The Card Thief of Culnivar
Deep with the cozy kingdom of Daeton, among the generation-old farmlands and villages, a young farmer’s daughter stumbles upon a dead man. His elaborate clothing has been torn to ribbons, yet his skin remains unblemished. His face is peaceful, and tucked into the hand lying across his chest can be seen a solitary playing card. He is a Ludum Haeres. The last remnant of a Summoner. Numbered among those few capable of changing their destinies. The unseen rulers of the world known as Vesperia, and one of the most powerful creatures in existence. The woman knows none of this. And so, she picks up the card... This is my third novel on Royal Road, the first being "Beyond the Horizon's Eye", and the second being "The Dawnfire Archives". This story is something of a test in a new genre, that of CardLIT. We'll see how well it succeeds as the story continues. It takes place in a different setting than my other tales, with an entirely new cast of characters. It does, however, contain several ties between the stories. Average post between 1000 - 3000 words.

Fighting to be Kind in a Cultivation World
Aren't you tired of the typical cultivation story, where an isekai'd person comes into the world and becomes a brutal or selfish person? I know I am. So instead of being fully changed by the world, I want this protagonist to stick to their beliefs and help to change the world (and people) for the better. There will still be main character development and tests of those beliefs, but I want them to maintain that aspect. Brief Synopsis:American is thrown into a typical Xuanhuan cultivation world where the masses of the people are typically sacrificed for the abilities of the few. This is meant to be an alternate take on how protagonists approach these worlds. Main character comes into the world w/ scanning, healing, and monster taming abilities. The release schedule will begin on Dec 1st. The schedule is 2 chapters/week (Tue & Fri) at 11pm. Please like, comment, and follow, as that helps me to gauge interest in the series. Final note: I notice that many cultivation novels treat abuse or sexual assault as a throwaway tool to set a stage. I think the way it is normally done is both lazy and a disrespectful to victims. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve the way I've done it in this series, please let me know. I want to do this the right way. P.S. *Nudge, nudge* If you are looking for a sneak peek of up to 16 chapters ahead, check out my Patreon. :D
