We started our way out the school, laughing as we spoke to each other.

Suddenly, her phone began ringing, and she ignored it until I told her that it was okay. She reached into her bag, and slipped it out one of its pockets. As soon as she saw the caller's id, she picked up.

I didn't understand much of their conversation, but what I did notice was that Y/N's eyes began to get teary, and her face became lightly tinted red.

I grabbed her hand, worried. "What's going on?"

She hung up her phone, tears going down her face. She didn't give me an answer, so I decided that it was best if I just comforted her as much as I could at the moment.

I lead her to a bench that was nearby to sit down. The area was pretty isolated since it was already past school hours.

After few minutes, she spoke up, "Namjoon..."

As soon as I heard her speak, I looked her direction. "Hm?"

"About that call earlier.." she took a short breath, sniffing a little, "t-that was about my m-mom."

I wrapped one arm around her waist. I had absolutely no idea what was going on, but I knew that she must have been going though a lot at the moment.

"Is she okay?" I asked, concerned.

"She's at the h-hospital... that's why you didn't see her when you came over.."

"Do you want to go to your place? So we can talk about it, in private?"

"Yes"

We stood up from the bench, and I called a taxi to take us to her apartment since the bus had already left.

When we arrived, she went to the living room while I went to the kitchen to make some tea for us. Thankfully, I knew how to make that.

After I finished the tea, I poured it into two cups, and handed her a cup when I arrived in the living room.

After a few sips of drinking her tea, I asked her if she was ready to talk about what happened, and she nodded in response.

When I was little, I had to grow up I had a learning disorder. It was hard to live though, but my mom was loving and pushed me on. My dad, on the contrary, was displeased with me. He constantly blamed my mom for my problems.

He discouraged me, telling me that I couldn't do anything right. I wanted to prove him wrong, so I worked and studied harder in school, and but it never seemed to satisfy him.

My father even went as far as torturing my mother and I. He would hit us, saying horrible things to us to make us feel like garbage.

This just went on for years until I was about 8 years old. Around this time, I was doing a lot better in school, since I had been determined to overcome my weaknesses.

One day after school, I came home to see my mom, but not my dad anywhere in sight.

I waited hours... days... weeks for him to come back, and he never did.

I assumed later that he must have abandoned his family, since he already seemed to hate us. From that day on, I lived with just my mother.

About a year ago, my mom was diagnosed with cancer. My mother, having such a strong will, fought through it, continuing to work at her job and doing house work. She must have did this so much that her body must have gotten weak on her, for one day, she fell down the stairs at her job and was instantly sent to the hospital.

After that incident occurred, I rushed to the hospital as soon as I was notified.

We later found out that we could have a surgery done to remove the cancer, so I was determined to help her. All her life, she did so much for me, and now it was my turn to do her a favor.

I began working at the café so I could raise money to pay our house bills and hospital bills. and my mother's surgery.

But at that moment, I was still really struggling with so much on my plate. I am still unsure if I will be able to pay for surgery to be done on my mom.

That's also why I took hold of the opportunity when I was offered to be Namjoon's bodyguard. It could help me move a few more steps to be able to help my mother.

She told me her story, until she got to present time.

"When I got on that call, it was actually a nurse from the hospital I was speaking with. She told me that I had some bills that were overdue, and if I don't pay them soon, they would take my mother off of medications, which could be risky for her life."

Y/N finished off her sentence, she laid her head on my shoulder. "I'm so afraid that she might... not have much more time to live..."

I wrapped my arms around her, bringing her into a tight hug. "Everything will turn out okay.."

"I doubt that."

I could tell that she was really discouraged. If anything, maybe seeing her mom will push her a bit more, knowing that she still here and needs her more than ever.

"Do you want to see your mom?"

"Y-yeah.."

"Let's go then."

"Where?"

I pushed her off the couch playfully, "To see your mom of course!"

Her face lit us almost immediately.

"Really?"

"Yes"

It's kinda crazy that Joonie would do something like this for me.

I didn't really know if he wanted to go, but I really appreciated it. He was truly a little sweet koala.

I really admired him for that. Not everyone would care for others like he did.

And... I loved him for that.
