《Brains and Brawn (BxB)》Chapter 11

Matt's POV:
Sunday was kind of boring, I mostly just worked and did my homework.
Now is Monday and I'm currently in my locker choosing my books for today morning. I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around to see Macy and John waiting for me, so we can go to class together.
"So, how was your weekend? You kind of disappeared at the party, but John said you were fine and left," Macy says.
"I didn't disappear, you did. With Ethan. But it's fine, don't worry about it," I answer back.
We go together to class and pass Leo in the halls. We just kind of look at each other for a while until he kind of gives me a little smirk. You wouldn't notice if you weren't really looking at him, but seeing as I was, just looking at him, I noticed and sent a little smile back his way.
That's when I notice that I'm walking alone and look behind me to see John and Macy looking at me wide eyed. Oh balls, they must have noticed the little exchange I had with Leo.
"What was that?" Macy asks.
"Did Leo Bryant, your long time crush and the guy that never gives off any emotion, just smile at you?!" John asks.
I blush and say, " Speak louder now will you?! I don't think the birds outside heard you. And yes, Leo and I may or may not have ditched the party and went to a diner to eat...and I may or may not have also slept at his place after falling asleep on his car."
"What?!" They shout in unison.
I'm about to explain when we're interrupted by the bell.
"I'll explain at lunch, but we should probably go right now," I say.
English class goes by fast and boring. Macy and John kept looking at me like I just found the cure to cancer. Like seriously it's not that big of a deal.
As soon as the bell rings I try to make a run for it and get away from Macy and John, so I run to my next class, which just so happens to be math, which I have with the seniors and consequently, Leo and, more importantly, a class I don't have with either of my very annoying friends. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love them to death and all, but right now, I don't really feel like explaining something not even I understand.

I slump in my seat as soon as get to my classroom, I slump in the seat I always choose in the back. Ugh, Laurel and her bimbo squad is already here, good for me.
I go to my seat and take my things out and start doodling a few things on my notebook, not people, I'm too scared to do that anymore, since the notebook incident with Leo, so instead, I just draw some eyes and work on the detail and all that.
Then I hear someone walk in and see Leo and his friends walk by and take a seat in the back of the room opposite me, while I seat next to the window, they sit next to the wall. Anyway, while they're sitting down, Leo and I make eye contact and he gives a slight nod. Then I look back at my notebook, not wanting it to be awkward. I sneak a peak at him and see him still staring at me with a straight face. I forgot he didn't laugh around other people. Makes me feel special, to be honest.
Just as I turn back down I feel something hit me in the head and see it's a paper ball. Then I look around and see that it was none other than Laurel who is giving me a death glare, honestly if looks could kill, I'd be six feet under.
"What you looking at stalker?" She asks in that annoying nasal voice of hers.
"Not you, that's for sure," I mumble and look back down.
Then someone slaps the back of my head and I see it's none other than... you guessed it, Ben the Bully. I can't believe Leo's friend's with him. He probably heard what I said... Oops.
"What did you just say, nerd?" Ben asks. " Obviously, you wouldn't know how to appreciate the good things in life, you know, with you being a fag and all. You're probably too busy checking me out."
"No thanks, you're not my type. Also, I'd try to see things from your point of view, but I'm not sure I can get my head that far up my ass," I retort.
Then I see him fuming but he doesn't say or do anything seeing as the teacher just entered the classroom.
He goes back to his seat and I catch Leo's gaze on me with a little spark in his eye and he winks at me. He should really stop winking at me, it's making me go crazy.

After the class ends, I'm getting ready to leave the room running...again, Jesus, I'm running away an awful lot today and I really hate running. Anyway, just as I'm about to leave when someone pulls me back. The first thing I notice when I look up are mesmerizing green eyes and I know just by that, that it is indeed Leonardo Bryant.
"Ben is probably gonna be waiting outside for you, just wait a little while and I'll distract him so you can leave, otherwise he'll just try and beat the crap outta you," Leo says while holding me very close, like seriously, I need to breathe and you are not allowing me that man. " Of course I wouldn't let him but that would make him want to hit you even more, so I'll just try to be smooth about it."
"O-ok," I stutter out, not exactly comfortable with our position, seeing as he's way too close. I mean it's not like I mind, I just really feel like kissing him from this close. "Thank you, you didn't have to do that, I could just make a run for it."
"Don't worry 'bout it," he smiles." See you in PE."
I wait for about 5 minutes and then leave for my history class. The other two classes I had after that were normal. It was only PE and History so, nothing new. So now I'm sitting at lunch with my two best friends, after telling them what's been happening with Leo while they just look at me wide eyed with open mouths. It's actually quite funny.
"Are you serious?! Oh my God, that's so cute of him! I bet he's secretly crushing on you!" Macy says.
"Yeah, sure Macy, keep telling yourself that. Maybe we'll end up married and with our two adopted kids in a few years, 'cause that's how life works." I retort.
"Well, maybe that's not how life works," John says. "but he is looking at you at the moment like there's no tomorrow."
"What?!" I whisper yell at John.
"Well don't look, you idiots!" John retorts." Seriously you guys would be terrible secret agents."
"We would be great secret agents, FYI" Macy exclaims offended.
While they're busy fighting over whether they'd be good agents or no, I turn around and look at Leo's table and he really is looking at me, so I just stare back at him for a while and then I bite my lip and try not to blush. Obviously that didn't go so well and I end up looking like a tomate and turn back around to my friends.
The rest of the day was kind of boring. Nothing interesting happened. I had Art with Leo and then Chemistry and then home. I caught a ride with John today and we picke up Chris and then he left. Apparently he has a date with that pretty girl he met at the party - Charlotte, I think her name was - and he had to get ready.
So now I'm cleaning the kitchen while Chris is watching TV, when I hear the door open. Looks like my mom remembered she actually has kids, that's new.
"Hello Chris, honey, how was you day?"she asks Chris.
Wow, it feels so nice to be ignored. Not like I made dinner, washed and ironed all her clothes and cleaned the house and made sure everything was perfect. Oh wait, yes I did!
"Dinner's in the kitchen if you want it," I tell her. " and Chris, it's getting late, you should start getting ready for bed, I'll be up in a few minutes to tuck you in."
"Ok," he says a little sad. I know he wants to spend more time with our mom, but I can't just let him go to bed late because our mom decides to remember that she has children.
"You just had to send him away as soon as I got home didn't you?" My mom aks me.
"Well, if you actually were invested in your children's life you would know that Chris has to wake up early tomorrow and that he hates waking up early, so if he doesn't go to bed now, he won't get up."
And with that I leave, not really want to hear what she has to say back.
After tucking Chris in bed I get ready to go to sleep.
Turns out, I can't really sleep. I hate fighting with my mom. And I hate that she doesn't even care.
I hear my phone ring from my bedside table and see that I have a text. I open it, thinking that maybe it's John to tell me about his date, but when I actually read it, I'm pleasantly surprised and weirdly excited when I see who it's actually from:
"Hey Matt, it's Leo, I know it's late, but I just wanted to know if you're still ok with tutoring me?"
