I'm a swimmer with weights tied around both of his legs,
Emotional baggage is pulling me under I struggle to hold up my head,
I'm a broken scale that's unaware it's crumbling under the weight,
I let everybody just pile it on and they wonder how much I can take,
I'm a lost soul that's always chasing a dream and dreaming of a better place,
Pouring my heart into books and poems, it's my only way to escape,
I'm the father of three who failed miserably to give them the life I had dreamt,
But I'll spend every day tryna give them my best even if it is all I have left.
