《Mission Jurassic [Zach Mitchell x Male!Reader]》Chapter 20

Owen put the tracking implant near yours and the raptors' noses. The scent went into your nostrils as you raised your head up. There was a faint smell near the enclosure, but it seemed stronger in the forest. You then began to sprint following the scent. The raptors chittered, scampering beside you while the humans were following behind.
You then came to a halt, smelling the air again. It was clear that the hybrid was near. You and the raptors called out to her and she replied back with a low growl. Her face then poked through the trees, eventually revealing herself. She observed her surroundings, but then glared when she recognized you.
You watched the raptors reply back to her. It seems that they understood each other really well. You didn't know exactly what was being said, but it didn't sound too good.
The raptors then snarled at the humans. A fire was being lit and then aimed at the hybrid, but she disappeared into the forest quickly. After that, everything went into chaos. The girls betrayed the humans who trained them all those years ago. You believed that's what the hybrid told them.
Everyone then began dispersing the area. Some of them made it out alive while others were dead. You didn't know what to do, but you had to get out of here. You bolted out of the forest and then into the open road. There you saw Zach and Gray in a moving van. The doors were wide open as the remaining raptors chased after them.
You gritted your teeth and then picked up the pace. The boys rolled a barrel out of the van, but you and the raptors dodged it. As you got closer, you noticed that they gained a weapon. They aimed it at Blue, electrocuting her. She rolled out of the van while you passed her.

The boys began cheering at their victory before Zach smiled at you. As you gained closer, you jumped into the air while transforming into a human. Your cheeks then flared upon realizing where or who you landed on.
"Oh, hi." You managed to say, but your heart was beating by a millisecond.
"Hi." Zach nervously responded. You were above him as he said that. His face was very red.
"Did you guys see that?!" Gray grinned, breaking the silence. You then got off of Zach quickly.
"I, uh, yeah." Your heart was still beating. "Good job, Gray."
"It was Zach's idea." Gray grinned, staring at him.
"Really?" You stared at Zach. His cheeks were still red. "Good job, Zach. I'm very proud of you."
"Thanks." He grinned bashfully.
Motorcycle noises were heard outside the moving vehicle. You saw Owen driving behind the van, but then he swerved to the side.
"We gotta get back to the center." He told Claire as he zoomed up ahead.

"They must've evacuated the Lab," Claire muttered. She had asked Lowery to book a chopper to get them out of here. However, she stopped when she saw the lab's contents being emptied out by the Ingen workers.
"What are you doing?" She inquired confusedly.
"I'm afraid that's above your pay raise honey," Hoskins noted, arriving in the lab.
"Where's Henry?" Claire continued.
"Dr. Wu? Oh, he works for us now." He then booted up the computer, revealing an image of the hybrid.
"That's not a dinosaur," Gray quietly pointed out.
"No, it ain't kid." Hoskins answered, "But, somebody's gotta make sure this company has a future." He then gestured the screen. "Imagine this, but a fraction of the size. It'll be able to hunt in the trenches. You see, nature is the living--shit!"

He jumped when he saw Echo appear in the Lab. Everyone backed away slowly as she sauntered over towards Hoskins. He held out his trembling hand, trying to connect with her.
"Easy, easy boy." He quivered slightly. Echo tilted her head to the side before biting down hard on Hoskins's hand. He screamed as the blood smeared on the glass wall. Everyone resumed their journey to the control room, but Delta smashed through the glass blocking the way. You then ran outside, but as you arrived, Blue was there waiting. Delta and Echo finally appeared, blocking both sides.
You were cornered.
They were the predators and your group was the prey.

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!

Spores Controller
Join the MC on a journey through a fantasy world as he searches for the reason of his existences and walk on the path to his destiny. The mature tag currently only applies for the side story, which is canon and could be skipped. I probably don't intent to add mature content into the main story. This is the first time I'm writing a story and I hope that you'll all like it. Constructive criticism will be appreciated, and I'll try to post at least a chapter per week.
