《Kenji and Jester》Chapter 4: The Boy

Slowly regaining his consciousness once more, Kenji was greeted by the familiar ticking of the grandfather clock. He notices that his surroundings haven't changed, confirming that this is not a dream. Kenji sat there silently, trying to wrap his head around his current situation.
"Ok...Ok… so I'm not dreaming?" Kenji mutters, taking several nervous breaths as he slowly observes the room. Then his attention was diverted to the small desk next to his bed. He could see his equipment from his lighter, cigarette box and his wallet, but his phone was missing. Kenji could only hope that the people who were trying to see who he was, not trying to steal it from him, but the thought of yesterday still confused him.
The lady in blue and that wolf lady. Was she even human?
The question was beginning to dominate Kenji's mind, but all it did was bring more stress to the young man. Kenji just can't get himself to think anymore, almost as if God was trying to play a mischievous game with him.
Kenji took out a cigarette from the box took the lighter from the table and attempted to relieve his mind from the stress.
The Japanese kanji and voices suddenly surrounded him like swarms of flies. Kenji shut his eyes and slowly he calmed his mind as he released a large puff of smoke from his cigarette.
Very soon the symbols disappear. Kenji took deep breaths in and out as he knows the growing stress will make it worse and better yet his body feels a lot better than the last time he was up.
After a puff of smoke, Kenji took a huge sigh of relief but unknown to him someone was waiting.
"You know that thing could kill you, Kenji." Kenji flinched at the mention of his name and turned his head towards the voice. It was the same white-haired woman in the blue dress.
"You again? How the hell did you get in here?" Kenji asked, shaken by the lady's sudden appearance.

"I never left the room, I-." she stuttered in her last sentence, "Actually, I just came in. Can't remember where I went through."
Kenji gritted his teeth and stared at the woman with hints of anger and annoyance. Quickly his vision was filled with the words from his mind and was flickering around the woman like flies.
Kenji immediately took another deep breath, "Has anyone told you that you're a very confusing person to talk to?"
"This is my first time talking to someone in a very long time," she answered.
"I don't know if you're joking. But am not amused, ok?"
He removes the blanket from his lap and hastily picks up his equipment on the table. "Anyways, thank you for your hospitality and I'll be taking my leave now."
"Wait!" The woman shouted as Kenji lay his hand on the door handle. "I remember a few more things when I was gone."
Kenji turns back to face the woman with confusion.
"Yeah?" He answered. "What is it then?"
The woman sighs, "You'll see…"
Kenji closed the door with relief, hoping that he'll never have to see her face ever again. He started to walk down the wooden corridor, it was a bit bland due to the lack of colour but there was some beautiful furniture that made up for it. Kenji then turns to a window near the room, he gazes towards the outside to see multiple sheep roaming around the fields, eating the grass.
'The countryside? How did I get here?' Kenji questions himself.
Kenji kept walking but remained cautious of his new surroundings. He then heard a voice from the end of the corridor and slowly he crept towards the voices.
Kenji could hear it coming from a large room right ahead, it was a living room, all decorated with plants, furniture, and animal skins. Everything looks ancient, there was not a single sight of electronic devices or artificial lighting, whoever lives in this home must be ancient.

But whoever they are, they must know where he is.
Meanwhile, at the table in the dining room, A woman in her seemingly in her late 20s was having a small laugh with her friend, Adam Blanc, as he recalled his daily life with both his daughter and his wife.
The woman Adam was talking to was an elven hunter who lives not too far from the village. Her name is Melody Westwood, she is an ex-adventurer who is now settled in the kingdom of Felivar, a small yet powerful nation bordering the coast of Aleville.
Normally, his wife, Angela would be the one to accompany the elven hunter. But she's currently away in Ruhal- a large town, east of the village- to gather supplies for the farm. Adam has known Melody for quite some time. When Adam first met her was when he was no older than four years old. It was he who introduced her to Angela who had a close relationship with each other.
Additionally, Melody is responsible for bringing the young man to his house. She found the young man in the middle of the Swazi forest all alone in a giant crater.
Ironically, It was his wife that was willing to let him rest. Adam was reluctant at first to keep the boy in his house as he was a bit sceptical of the elven hunter's claim. The boy looks to be from the eastern continent but Adam can't identify where, he thought his clothes would give him a clue but the boy's attire looks too western to be eastern. Adam also was curious about his belonging as well. He's not a thief but many of the boy's tools and devices have caught his attention. But what's more curious was the Diamond which was embedded in his hand. Adam couldn't resist trying to get that hammer and Chisel and attempted to detach the diamond from his hand.
Though it was unsuccessful, he would have to stop due to his concerned wife. If it wasn't for Angela then the boy's arm would be sawed off. But one thing he found interesting was the strange rectangular device he got. Right now he had it was showing Melody this strange device in case the elven hunter had seen this kind of contraption before.
Melody stares at the device, confused and curious about what it could be. Even if she'd seen a few new gears and tools being invented throughout her life, she had never stopped being so nosy.
"I've never seen a device like this before, Adam. Where did you get this from?"
The farmer locked his eyes on the square device. Though he thought it was first a mirror, it wasn't until it started to glow and display a picture of a white flower that Adam was astounded by such a device. Adam raised the device and slowly observed it once again.
"It belongs to the young man you brought. To be honest, I have no idea what this could be." Adam said, slowly studying the device in his hand.
"May I see it?" the hunter curiously asked.
Adam nods, "Sure thing."
Melody receives the device and carefully scans the device from top to bottom. 'A mirror?' Melody thought as she looked at her reflection on the black screen.
Observing the sides she found three buttons on both sides of the device. She found one to be a switch to open the device, but was left confused about what the other two buttons do.
She then read a small text on the bottom of the screen,
'Swipe up to Unlock'
It was written in Anglo, Melody's native language.
Melody raised her eyebrows in awe. "This is from Albion?" she mutters
Suddenly, a miniature creek was heard from the floor as a person stepped into the room. Her Hunter instinct suddenly kicks in and hastily she reaches for her knife. But upon seeing who it was, she was stunned to see it was the eastern boy wide awake from his slumber.

Yet Another RimWorld (Dropped)
*Fanfiction based on the game RimWorld*A more realistic take of RimWorld, where we follow the pawns that must struggle to survive in yet another Rimworld. Their stories, guided by a particularly playful narrator, will tell the tales of survival, defeat, gains, losses, triumph, and ultimately ruin. Trials faced by people, in places of various circumstances, will be observed and presented to its audience. What will be presented here are insignificant snippets of history, merely few of the innumerable tales and prospects to be found across this wide galaxy; The things we discover from these pawns, so many yet so few. Ultimately, they are just more drama meant for enjoyment, albeit in a twisted way. A/N:This is a fanfiction, based on the game "RimWorld". Using my personal gameplays as a basis for this fanfiction, in addition to some embellishments here and there. Unlike the silly antics that caused grave consequences if you had ever played RimWorld, my rendition will (hopefully) stay more grounded to reality, whereby no one will go beserk and dig up corpses if they can't eat on a table for 3 days in a row. That's all I need to say, you get the point. I'm writing this for fun. So please expect me to be inconsistent. Lastly, I am incredibly grateful to Tynan Sylvester for the game he created, "RimWorld", which is loved by many across the world and it will always remain a special place in my heart. For without his game, my work would not exist.
