《Call of the Void》Chapter -20- King of NOTHING

A menacing black throne stood in front of Aaron. In this world of grey, there was nothing but dirt till the horizon, not a sound to be heard and not a vestige of life. The last thing he remembered was feeling weak and blacking out. Then he was here. He was sure this was a hallucination of some sort.
"This isn't a dream" came a voice.
Aaron snapped his attention towards the only thing present. The black throne.
A wisp of black smoke now sat on it. Hardly any substance comprised the form. It reminded him of a weak fox fire.
"What isn't a dream? ventured Aaron tentatively.
"This". The ground you're standing on. The sky you see and most certainly not me," said the form.
Not convinced in the slightest. Aaron took a few steps back taking a stance warily. "What are you?"
"Not Important" snapped the plume of smoke suddenly bereft of patience.
"We don't have much time. So listen carefully. Beware the one-eyed-king. Do not trust the shadows for now. They will be your domain eventually. They are but a treacherous marsh for the time being. Help the golden one, he shall become your staunchest ally and above all believe in yourself. We shall meet again at your first trial. Goodbye. For now."
Confused, Aaron tried to remember everything the smoke told him before he could see the world dissolving. His existence faded from that place and came back to one where he was lying on the ground. The faces of Zeva and Arjun looked down at him.
"Well at least she was alive," he thought.
Aaron had not been treated well in life. Emotionally vacant parents and existing bang in the middle of the autism spectrum made it difficult for him to connect with people. A burgeoning anxiety disorder cut him off from most of his peers. Misunderstood and alienated Aaron never expected to be treated well. Things didn't change across dimensions it seemed. He was now in a cell. How this tent had the structural integrity to house a small prison was beyond him. "Magic" he muttered "Hurray". This was Aaron's second day in this place. After the giant shadow invasion. The army suffered massive casualties. But Aaron had to give these folk credit. The cleanup had been relentless. The dead had been cleared, tags being collected from all of them. A bunch of armoured guys then waved their hands and built what he assumed was a fucking Cemetery out of the grassland. What could be salvaged was salvaged and those ground magic dudes started building a new tighter encampment. This time with higher walls and glowing floating orbs of light everywhere. There were no shadows anymore. Aaron had thought the army would be quick to make their move from the place. But for some reason, they were still stationed there. So Aaron stayed in his cell, waiting anxiously for any developments. There were none. By the end of the second day, Arjun the kind but genocidal scholar paid him a visit. He opened the cell door and beckoned Aaron to come. Steeling himself Aaron followed behind.

The Dungeon Hive
One thing I noticed about most dungeon stories is that most races mistakenly believe that dungeons have a hive-mind and I go, “That make sense.” Considering the various powers and how big dungeons can get, wouldn’t it make more sense for them to have a hive-mind? So this is it; my take of the world’s first dungeon and the hive that controls it. Watch as it stumbles, fall, survive, strive and…procreate? Watch as it changed the world of Ioplon…for better and for worse. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For edited version of the story, the full trilogy (Book_1: Fantasy Begins, Book_2: Dungeon Flames, Book_3: Spread of the Dungeons) are now available on Amazon. Please take a look, and leave a rating. Thanks
8 288Truck-kun Gets Sacrificed
Driscoll is my own version of a world with a game-like "system" of endless possibilities. MC has his own status, classes, skills, magic, and a living greatswordstaff in a world of monsters, demi-humans of all kinds, and even the supernatural. Sound good? Well, at first for Tru, it was a dream come true(I'm sorry). At least until reality hits him again and again. His quest from God is vague and must be discovered by him along the way. Hopefully, he can figure that out someday but for now, this new world's threats and his potential for power are motivation aplenty. With His new partner by his side, he's ready to embark on his mission of infinite sacrifice, however many lives it takes. The setting is pretty standard for fantasy, with my beginner attempts at writing. Litrpg elements are definitely involved here but It'll calm down as the story progresses and the world's foundation is laid. Judeo/Christian themes and principles take a major role and will be a backbone for much of the story. The fights will paint a picture in the mind rather than just be a bunch of number crunching. While he is meant to be a sacrifice to save all of Driscoll, he needs to gain enough power and influence to be a worthwhile sacrifice, or so he thinks. And so carnage will ensue as he avoids death as best he can while at the same time sacking himself for others. Truck Coon is your average determined, jiu-jitsu practitioner, tax associate that just started his new career. He dies to save kids from a semi-truck(Truck Coon got truck-kun'd, making him Truck-kun) and is transported to another world rather conventionally by God. Upon his arrival, he is quickly confronted with his first conflicts in the wild. Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Chapters are currently between 2300 and 4000 words and I try to post weekly, but also deal with severe limitations that cause late posts often. I have zero actual experience with writing stories and only recently started reading web novels in 2020. If you end up hating it, let me know your thoughts in a detailed comment or review, especially if you love it though :D I want to get better and welcome the feedback, so expect changes to be made with any flaws that y'all point out which I don't already have plans to address in future chapters. That being said, keep it constructive in nature, please. I have no Idea how the formatting and such will go, so if you like or dislike some techniques I try, give me that well-appreciated feedback! Thank you for reading.
8 544Ezekiel, an Angel in the multiverse.
Ezekiel, one of the few people whom God considered worthy to go to paradise, had the chance to reincarnate in the multiverse to spread the goodness. But God gave him the Quirk of an angel with unlimited growth, perhaps becoming the Top 1 Pro Hero is just the first step.
8 210Zephyrion
One man's mistake. Don't avert your eyes. Look around you. Look at the souls that your foolish kindness had reaped. One man's escape. Your attempts are futile. There is no place for vermin like you in this holy empire. One man's descent into chaos. At the cost of your humanity, and the lives of many innocent others, will you forsake all to ascend to the top And one man's final resolution. Enough with your blabbering. Even if I have to start over from the lowest of low… I will definitely regain my rightful throne.
