《Path of the Conqueror》Chapter-16 New Conflict

"What do you want to eat?"
Zain asked as he removed his sweaty clothes and wore a loose robe.
"Wild boar, 20.... aa...wait no 50 servings." Draig said with some calculations.
Even though Zain also ate a lot but Draig ate several times his amount. It's not been long since Morris had to set up a special kitchen only for these two. As quantity they both eat every day was enough for a noble feast.
"Okay, so what about your lesson?"
"Oh, that I have completed the whole planar history and most used languages. I just left with domestic affairs and warcraft."
"That's good. I will add two cakes to your meal for today."
"Really...Thank you. I promise Draig will work hard."
In the past four weeks, Zain has raised Draig to be a scholar. Although his behaviour was of a child. But it didn't affect his learning capabilities. He was really good at that. Zain knew that Draig has power but lack knowledge. So, he was doing his best to fill the lacking part.
Zain ring the bell present by the side of his bed. Soon a maid entered the room.
"Prepare the bath. And also regular food with 50 boar serving and 2 cakes. Make it fast."
Zain said in a domineering way.
"Yes, young lord."
'How? How could a nine-year-old child eat this much? This is enough for my whole family for at least six months.'
This was the thought had in her mind. Still, she left to prepare for bath and food without complaining.
______________________________
After taking bath and eating with Draig, Zain provided him with further work to do. He guided him through some complex stuff and then Draig got lost in his learning.

The door of the room opened and a figure entered the room.
"Milord!"
"Chris! why do you barge into my room like that?"
It was Chris, in the past months he has been managing all the operations at Goldflow city. And many other tasks Zain entrusted him with. He has done everything the best he could do, giving Zain no chance to complain.
"I am sorry, my lord. But your efforts have paid back. The gnomes have replied to us."
Months ago, Zain heard the news that at the border of Bane Dukedom, there was a kingdom of dwarves, that was at war with the gnomes. Although the gnomes had the upper hand they didn't have enough food supplies to drag the war for much longer.
If they were to go on like that their army would fall short on supplies and would have to retreat back to deep mountains. The dwarves just had to hold on for a month longer.
But Zain thought of an idea. He had Chris find someone who can help them reach out for gnomes. He wanted to sell them food and supplies for their magic equipment. It was a great deal. As gnome's magic equipment was very useful. They made magic lamps, farming tools which were easy to use etc. It could help Dukedom develop.
But the plan also had a second part. With his help, the gnomes would have a greater chance of victory. Then he will help the dwarves to suppress the gnome's army. He will win their friendship and make a deal for weapons forged by them. The weapons made by dwarves were considered the best of the best.
This was a win-win situation but both wins were for only Zain. This was a really good opportunity for him. The Bane family had to depend on Duke Ronald and Duke Martin for weapons. But that didn't come cheap.

If this plan of Zain got successful, Bane Duchie would have a steady supply of excellent weapons. That would help them gain a huge upper hand in the Northeastern Zinovia empire.
"Chris, let father know that I am coming to meet him."

"So, that concludes all the report about new rates of food products that we will provide to other lords. Milord, do you want any changes?"
"No, it's fine."
Morris just finished describing Zeidan about his negotiations with the diplomats of different lords for the prices of food grains.
The door of the room opens and a maid walks in.
"Milord, young master Zain will be arriving to pay you a visit with his attendant Chris."
"Let him come."
The maid bowed and left the room.
"Morris, what do you think he is now here for?"
"I don't know, Milord."
Raiser and Raina were too wanted to know what would this kid who has given them surprises one after another would have now.
Soon Zain entered the room with Chris also a little shy 'Draig'.
Raiser and Raina got into battle position by instinct. This resulted in Draig releasing his violent Abyssal aura. This was a start of a battle. But...
"Everyone CALM DOWN!" Zain yelled at top of his lungs.
Raiser and Raina retreated and Draig also went to a normal state.
"Duke Zeidan, is this the new one?"
Raiser looked at Duke with a questioning gaze. Raina was looking at the Zain for an answer.
"Yes, he is. His name is Draig. He is...as you can say my guardian...uh yes, a guardian sent by my mom. Draig where are your manners, say hello."
Zain said to Draig. But the latter wasn't in for a meet and greet.
"But Zain you said if you don't like someone you can blow them into millions and millions of pieces especially that old bastard who destroyed the door that day."
Draig said that most innocently. But words coming from his mouth were not something innocent.
Everyone in the room was looking at Zain like he was a maniac. Of course, this was what he was teaching to a Dragon who has the power to flatten the cities. There was huge pressure on Zain. He coughed awkwardly.
"Cough, Cough..... Sorry about that. Father, I wasn't talking seriously. It was just a joke, okay just a joke. I didn't think he would take it seriously."
"Oh... Zain, so what you said about Duke being a killing-obsessed old coot is a joke too. When you were saying to stay away from that kind of people."
Draig added oil to the burning flames. Zeidan's face was red with anger. Everyone else was trying their best to control their laughter.
"ZAIN!!!!" Zeidan roared.

Blaze
The story of a fire elemental's life in a world dominated by mages. He will have to learn how to manage betrayals, treachery, and maybe even love as he goes on adventures to find a meaning to it all. From dark, humble beginnings he will rise... or fall, devastating amounts in his journey across the world. Hello, Author here! I am, unfortunately, rather terrible at coming up with descriptions that seem to have the right amount of decorum and yet actually serve their function of adequately describing the story, so here's the coursenotes. - The story follows a fire elemental. (As you can tell from that, it is heavily besed on fantasy with mages and the like. Technology will not feature prominently) -As mentioned in the tags, this will have game-like aspects. (E.G. levels, stats. I will be trying to put my own twist on this notion however, so bear with me if the premise intrests you but you despise LitRpg) -It'll get rather dark, but not devastatingly so. (I'm trying to write a more complex story so it will have its dark moments, the prologue being one of them. Rest assured the whole story will not be this dark, though I'll make sure that no-one is a saint either) -The protagonist/protagonists will not be a Mary-Sue. (The plural will be understood when I'm further into the story. They also won't be impossiby unlikeable such as those in many Light novels.) -There is no prophecy (Anyone who says there is, is lying, trust me.)

None of the other dragons let them in on the secret that we only hoard treasure in order to bait the fools. Or how it's a common belief that we eat humans for breakfast. Seriously! Not even a village would substitute as a snack. How do they think people taste anyway? Gross! But it doesn't matter if you hide away in your cave, doing nothing. Some hero is bound to find and attempt to slay you anyways. Or weird cultists offering sacrifices at your door. But there was this princess that asked me to kidnap her one time.
