《Is this some kind of joke, God?》A trip to the city | 9

The stone road I took in the direction of the city was exquisitely laid out. The emblem of a city, region, or possibly a nation would occasionally be visible.
In any case, the RRU was supposed to be leaving the base an hour or so after I did and remain hidden until I called them or broke didn't the radio silence every hour. I used a tiny radio that was concealed inside my suit. Similar to the ones used by tank personnel.
I eventually succeeded in getting to the city gates. It was sizable, and a massive wall encircled the entire city. The dread wall will make it difficult or even impossible for the RRU to accomplish its rescue mission.
There was a "queue" at the gate, and it appeared that they were verifying the papers, which I, of course, did not have. Perhaps I could persuade them that I had somehow misplaced them.
I waited for my turn as I stood in line. Then a hooded girl began chatting to me.
"Are you new around here?"
How did she find out? Was the outfit I chose inaccurate?
"Yeah. How did you know."
"Unlike anyone else, you don't have your documents prepared."
"Oh well, I don't have them."
"Well, don't worry, the guards will let you in if you promise to prepare those documents and present them when you leave."
"I appreciate the re-assurance."
"What brings you to Trauldiff, then?"
So that's the name of the city. A name straight out of some fantasy.
"I need to take care of some business town."
How perfect! A good connection to a local, If I succeed, maybe she will explain something about this world to me. Brilliant!
"What brought you to the city, then?"
"I also have things to do in the city; perhaps you'd like me to show you around since you're a newcomer."
"I'll be happy to accept this offer."
Everything is going as I had planned! She removed her hood at that precise moment. It was an actual elf! One eye was yellow and the other was light blue, giving it two different colored eyes. Her hair was spotless, long, and colored green.
"What are you looking at? You've never seen an elf? She started smiling a little."
"Oh, sorry. Actually, yes, it's first time I see an elf."
"I'm glad I'm the very first elf you've seen, then!"
My turn had finally come.

"Do you have the required documentation?"
"No."
"On your way out, get one from the guild and bring it to us."
"Okay!"
Definitely, precisely as the elf claimed. They momentarily let me through, just like that! Everything is going so nice and smoothly, I'm quite surprised!
When I stepped foot in the city, the first thing that struck me was a reasonably large market that was incredibly busy. I discovered that products range from the basic—like tomatoes and cucumbers—to the magical—like a sword and a bow.
It's amazing to see how far society has come in this world. However, did lucifer give them that technology or was it their own invention? I must tread cautiously and remain aware that my enemy is somewhere out there preparing his next move against me.
Finally, the elven girl who had promised to show me around the city came over and walked up to me.
"Isn't that amazing? When I first arrived, I was astounded by this city's size and bustling activity."
"How long has this city existed in this location?"
"In all truthfulness, nobody is quite certain. Some people say, a few hundred years others say less than that. Well now, come on, let me show you around!"
I started to following her, despite our friendly relationship and my desire to keep it that way, I couldn't rule her out as a potential enemy. I've only known her for 20 minutes, after all. To trust someone so readily, especially someone from this world, would be unreasonable and downright stupid. Only me and my officers are worth having my trust.
"The guild is the first stop and is considered by some to be the most significant building. You can register as an adventurer, obtain various documents, and obtain permits in this building. Although the job is demanding, it pays well."
"Are there many people who choose to lead adventurous lives?"
"It's difficult to say exactly how many of us there are. In any case, not nearly enough, given the constant expansion of quests and their repeated overcrowding of message boards. Perhaps this is a consequence of the increasing amount of powerful monsters that are showing up throughout the region."
Powerful monsters? Could Lucifer have planned this? I must exercise extreme caution, and I also need to alert the base.
"Hey, you should get your document! I will wait for you, the people at the checkout are very helpful!"

"Okay."
I went up to the counter where a 25-year-old woman was competing. She was most likely a female employee.
"Salutations, welcome to our humble guild! What would you like?"
"Is document creation possible here?"
"Of course! Are you a newcomer to the area?"
"Yes."
"Therefore, it is free! Joining our guild is the only requirement."
"What is required for it to join?"
"Nothing! The crystal ball will assist us in familiarizing ourselves with your statistics."
A woman pulls out a sizable, nearly transparent sphere from under the counter. It sparkled, and I sensed a strange energy emanating from it.
"Don't worry, you may feel unusual energy emitting from this sphere, but it's perfectly safe! Now, please put both your hands on the sphere and focus on it."
I put my two hands on the ball. And I focused on it. The sphere turned a dark black color. Very dark.
"Good and now we need to see what stats you have."
INFORMATIONS Name Race Human Age Level 11 EXP 0/120 Titles Ability Summoning HP 200 Stamina 23 Strength 35 Intelligence 42 Charisma 23
"Well, it read out what it could, please tell me your name!"
I am not allowed to use my original world name, I cannot use it. I have to come up with something quickly. Lucifer recognizes himself as a "god", maybe it'll upset him by naming myself after a fallen angel? Astaroth. Perfect for a name, screw you lucifer.
"My name is Astaroth."
EVOLUTION SUCCESSFULL. PROCEEDING WITH CHANGES. ERROR USER CAN BE SEEN BY OTHER ENTITIES. AWAITING FOR USER TO BE ALONE.
"E-evolution? And alone? The hell!"
"Oh, weird name. Are you perhaps from the west?"
"Uhh, no, but my parents might be. They game me that name."
"Alright, now for the last question. How old are you?"
"22."
"Let me just.... oh, and done! Here's your document, and here's your guild card! Enjoy your stay!"
Information about me, including my name, age, and other details, were included in my document a somewhat ID, like the one I had in my world. There is a F on the guild card. According to my memory, this rank is the lowest, and S is the highest. Anyhow, I'm returning to that elf.
"Oh, are you all done?"
"Yes."
"Oh, well, it happened very quickly. Come on, I'll take you to a store with excellent gear before I have to leave."
The store was right in the middle of the market, where we had just walked. A master made great weapons. What a "original" name.
In front of the shop, we took a rigid stance.
"Here is top-notch gear that won't fail you in a fight, despite its affordable price tag! Unfortunately, I must leave at this time. I hope to see you again. Before I go, what is your name?"
"My name is Astaroth."
"A-astroh?"
"Yes."
"I.. haven't heard that name in a while. I-i hope we meet yet again! Bye!"
"Bye."
What an odd response. Maybe she recognized the name? No, it is impossible because it originates from my world. I believe I can see the city's recognition as a success, and I also now have a "friend.".
Time to head back to base, but before I do I need to locate an alley and break radio silence because my units will attack in 10 minutes. I entered the "dark" alley.
"I have a bad feeling about it.... "
"This is L1, reporting to RRU. Mission is a success. Expect me in about 20 minutes at your location."
L1 stands for Leader-1, Heintz is L-2, and Erica is L-3. Represents our hierarchy well, it's easy enough.
"This is RRU DL-1, copy that L1. We're awaiting for you."
DL-1 stands for Divisional Leader-1. There's his second-in-command DL-2 as well as back up officer DL-3. Same easy hierarchy as with us. Each squad has it's own designation. I plan to add more as I get stronger, but this looks like that now:
L Leader DL Divisional Leader BL Brigade Leader RL Regiment Leader PL Platoon Leader SL Section Leader TL Team Leader
Fortunately, my fears proved unfounded. Nothing happened to me and I left the city with ease. I met up with the RRU nearby on a small hill and we drove to the base. I wonder if my soldiers shoot something that gave me EXP. Furthermore I what to see what the "evolution" was about.
"Character Menu."

My Best Friend is an Eldritch Horror
Good things come to those who wait. Damien Vale didn't, and now he's bound to an Eldritch creature from beyond the farthest reaches of the universe. It's unfathomable, utterly evil, and likes to be called Henry. To Damien, none of that mattered. He was going to learn magic, and he'd be damned if he let something as small as this set him back. When Damien started his first year at a mage college, he didn't expect it to be easy. However, when he's assigned to room with a strange girl that has magic that even Henry is wary of, Damien realizes things might not be so easy. He sets out to accomplish his life goal of becoming a powerful mage, all the while dealing with a murderous professor, an eldritch creature that's created a persona to act like a teenager, and a new roomate that's far more perceptive than he'd like. As Damien struggles to deal with the rammifications of the monster within him, a disturbing fact comes to life: Henry might not be the only eldritch creature on the mortal plane, and he's the only one that can stop them. NOTE: This story is progression fantasy with some very basic litRPG elements (such as a wristband that shows a character's stats). It is not a full on litRPG - it's a progression fantasy story with litRPG elements. The story will contain some romance, but it will not be explicit nor will it take over the story. It starts off slow, but will pick up speed quickly around chapter 26. Enjoy! My Best Friend is an Eldritch Horror was origonally started as a way to thank my patreons. I will be keeping the patreon updated 15 chapters in advance. Enjoy! Cover art by Skyedrun!

The Survival of the Prince
"Life is an interesting thing, it brings us to interesting places, it whispers to us interesting tales, it shows us interesting paths, but one thing that life does not do is coddle us, and that in a sense makes it ever more so interesting" - an interested philosopher I hope you enjoy the story. Prime Magus of Earth
"In the beginning, I had no idea what was going on. My brother and friends were gone, my sight was gone, and yet I still saw things, things about this world that no one else knew. I'm not special, or gifted, anyone could have done what I did. I just got lucky, especially after everything that happened afterwards. Magic already existed, it always had. Humans just didn't know how to do it, didn't know how to nuture that small spark in them. Now you do." - Prime Magus of Earth, Alexander Sorin. November 2021 Update: So, it has been four years since I stopped working on this. Reading back, the first "book" is finished. It has what feels like an ending to an arc. Now it isn't a perfect story but I still like it and I can see myself starting the second book, might even this on Amazon or something. My biggest regret was never coming up with artwork for the cover though. Maybe I'll look into it.
