Seeing the dwarf made him sigh of course he expected this but he had kinda hoped it would be an elf or a beast man something besides the dwarves but nothing he could do.
“Hello sir blacksmith I was wondering If you would be willing to help me learn your trade”
“Oi Why would I do that ?”
“Because for one it seems your apprentice less plus you would be able to boss me around”
“You have a way with words fine answer my question”
“Alright”
“What good is blacksmithing to you”
“Personally I'd have to ask you a question to answer it what good is the strongest knight naked”
“HAHAHA good point first time one of ya made a good point
“One of me”
“Ya you weird travelers walking up to random strangers asking for training”
“Ow that you mention it it is really weird guess we just got used to it”
“So you want to blacksmith? The basics aren't very hard to heat metal hit metal repeat put in water”
“I know toes basics I was actually hoping to watch you make items I'm more of a hands on learner I’ll even do it for free”
“Ha if it's for free I'd take those prancy elves”
Spencer followed the man to where he kept the raw ore considering he wanted to learn everything this was the best place they started with the lowest tier armour bronze which was perfect for Spenser as bronze was a time of alchemy offshoot the combination of metals tin and copper after heating it in a small stone pot they transferred the bronze to a mold encased in sand then after it cooled took it out then sharpened and polished it, unfortunately, sword of iron and up were giant time-consuming pains.
A steel sword required the player to first create a billot by placing different types of iron and steel that were around a cm thick then heating it and hammering and repeating, then you had to hammer it until it was slightly sword-shaped which had multiple steps which took a full day then you had to bevel the sword then due to all the hammering you had to normalize it to get rid of the stress then grind it then harden it temper it sharpening it and polishing it not to mention having to get rid of all the impurities and residue seemingly all the time, all in all, making a sword took a couple of days..

However, with bronze casting, he had made his weights for little money all in all the 5 days were spent well he had increased his strength by 2 and stamina by 2. There was also another useful piece of information that came up as he worked, Anyone who became a blacksmith learnt all the basics such as horseshoe making and nails but if one wanted to make arms and armour and for each thing one created it cost another skill slot meaning every design took a slot so if one chose to become a blacksmith they could easily fill 50 slots just on weapons (Swords, axes, hammers spears arrowheads, as well as variations).
Next was to increase his dex walking over to the tailors. Luckily it was easier to get a part-time job there as they had a lot of orders after learning the basics and on basic mending and hemming, he was shown how to stitch a shirt from scratch. That went on for 5 days he could have stayed longer but he had a plan, 10 days is what he had bought himself by giving up seeing his sister on next Sunday this way he could increase his stats a bit, the question now was Rogue or warrior.
Considering that countering was more effective than the actual power he decided on going to the Thieves guild. The only problem was that it only existed on paper. Considering that they were mostly thieves and rogues and assassins being easy to find was difficult that was part of the fun of becoming a member it was like real life. Mages were the elite but not as many of them as the rest but they had magic powers making them easy to find much like colleges or universities in his time but extremely time-consuming.

Next was the warriors guild they were generally the most numerous they had Archers as well as fighters who used a variety of weapons, they, for the most part, represented the middle class as well as the difficulty of the jobs in Spencer's mind they were like trades people. Lastly, the thieves guild was, of course, the underbelly. But one had to find the head honcho in order to join meaning he had to find out where the boss was and for that he had to recall the pillars of the underworld. There were four things that actually brought money into the underworld Drugs, prostitution, Gambling, and running a protection racket the rest was really dependent on either moving things and weapons but those were legal.
Drugs were out as they were also legal for the most part same with prostitution that left the last two. While protection racket would lead him to some people it would hardly be the top plus it would be difficult to work his way up. That left gambling which was fine with him he had some money if he went to a tavern he could get directed to a game somewhere or just look for rich people in shadier parts of town.
That was surprisingly easy as he spied men and women dressed in long cloaks enter a tavern. It wouldn’t have been suspicious but considering they looked like they were cultists wearing gold trinkets and a jingling money pouch it was suspicious. Going into an alley he quickly transformed.

My very own first book: I know it won't be perfect, so any constructive criticism would be appreciated. Follow an irascible Darwin's adventures while he pioneers his class in a whole new world, where colors and willpower are two of the most important things, besides respecting the Gods (and avoiding stronger pricks that are just waiting for an excuse to trample someone). -first-person, portal fantasy, litrpg -the cover is my crude attempt with Paint
