《System gone rogue》001

Silvio hears the sliding door ding as he exits the hotel where he just dumped his stuff. He was on a business trip in Japan, but work didn't start until tomorrow. A good thing, because he was tired and overworked as usual. Also, he still needed to check and prepare for his presentation, but first, let's get a bite to eat.

Then his thoughts went dark as he thought about his girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend. At least he could have pride in the fact that he was the one that ended it. She had recently had some criticism on his personality... again. He knows he is not a bad person, he is objectively a better person than average. He was just remembering how empathetic he is and how well he treats others when it doesn't cost him anything.

As he is mulling over the criticisms his ex directed at him, he sees a parked truck with the brand "truck-kun" on the grill, this is when he knew, shit just got real! This is the one to look out for, but he read enough novels, he knows what to expect. He has 4 lanes to cross, so he has to time this carefully. As long as he isn't caught by surprise he will get through this alive, he tells himself.

He carefully taps his right foot on the road he wants to cross as he keeps his weight on his left foot. The truck's engine rumbles, the headlight blinders go up, *beeeep*

There is no way I am getting killed on the middle of this road! He takes a small step onto the street. The trucks wheels start spinning maniacally and the truck rushes onto the street. Silvio jumps back off road and the truck passes him by only to disappear off into the sunset. Safe! Fuck yeah! I did it! He looks around, the street is deserted now. A Japanese girl starts crossing the street in his direction. It must be safe to cross now. The Japanese live here. They would know.

He too sets a foot on the empty street again. There is nothing but silence, so he keeps walking. He keeps anxiously looking around, but things stay quiet right up until he reaches the halfway point. He is almost at the halfway point when 4 trucks come drifting around the corners from all directions. They were all wheel drifting so masterfully, even Takumi Fujiwara's stoic expression would be broken in envy. You can get upset with me if you want, but I am just describing the reality of modern Japan as we all know it.

He starts running beyond the half way point, but he realizes he won't make it. He is almost up to the girl. She is standing there frozen. The only way for her to make it, is for him to shove her towards the pavement, out of harms way. Silvio prides himself on his quick thinking, he grabs the japanese 18yr old girl. She couldn't possibly be younger than 18, then people would get upset with the author. Better pretend *ahem* insist that she is 18.

He turns her around, pushes his foot in her back and extends his leg with every ounce of strength he has. The Japanese are so docile, he knew he could get away with this, especially with a young girl. The girl goes splat on the farthest truck, blood spraying on sidewalks reaching both sides. He had managed to use the girl as a springboard to get himself to safety. Gaijin Smash! he thinks to himself.

He is definitely not a bad person, she would have died anyway. In fact, she should be grateful. This truck was faster than the others, at least now her death was instantaneous and painless. He was grateful to her too. As the trucks pass by he says "arigatou gozaimasu" out loud in an american accent.

A couple of Japanese silently shuffle away without even looking at him. They were aware of him, he knew, he knew how the Japanese were, nobody was fooling him. He might be a wonderful, kind, good natured person, but he was not naive. He backs away from the street and places his back to the wall across the pavement, catching his breath. Leaning against the wall, the wall breaks into pieces, his body explodes! Stones are launched onto the pavement and street. His blood projectiles onto the streetlight on the other side of the street. His skull is not instantly destroyed and in the last moment of his fading consciousness he thinks: "I will take on the ruin sentinels over Japan any day"

The air clears and as the dust settles, a grill reading "truck-kun" slowly appears. Once again truck-kun successfully isekaid a good natured, hard working protagonist. Silvio woke up no longer being Silvio, he was "system" now.

Welcome! to System Gone Rogue. If you don't like the story so far, you'd best pretend that this novel doesn't exist. This is where it starts! *sad* it's all downhill from here.
