《Dungeon of books》Beginning the Duel - Chapter 16

POV - Sylmare
I quickly activated my skill [Inspect] only getting some rough information cause I never bother to upgrade it or get a better version. I never saw the need while I was at my party and it has not come up in the past few years. Though I should bring my focus back to the Death Knight, Reinvchold, or was it, Reinbold, well whatever it was he seems to be a few levels lower than me. I also have a high element so I should win but his race rank is greater than mine which is a big problem. So no matter what I need to focus on the problem at hand, not lose myself in pointless conversations with myself.
I bring my focus back to the Death Knight just before we clash. Right when we reach my range, I use [Gravity Magic] to [Imbue] the traits of lessening the weight on my rapier and thrust it forward at blinding speed. I expect him to react by blocking, with a down look on my face to help surprise him, I would use Gravity Magic again to increase the weight leaving a devastating hit that he did not expect the force of and I would have a massive opening to exploit. How it really turned out though is that as I was stabbing forward the Death knight hooked the blade with the back of one of his axes, twisting it and causing my arm to go in an awkward position where it is harder to leave the grip of the ax. With my weapon now out of the way, he brings his other ax to chop into my side. Though when I understood the situation I’m in and how precarious it is, I use [Lunar Magic] to fire a beam of moonlight to his wrist that is holding the ax coming towards my side. The Death knight suddenly brings his arm back dodging the ray of moonlight, which also has the consequence of ending the attack giving me some room. The moonlight hits the ground causing a hole to appear where it has passed. Though with the window of opportunity given by him stopping the attack will not be wasted as I untwist my sword from the ax giving me ample room to hop away.

I let out a puff of air, not only was that confrontation fast but it was also fierce and gave me a lot of information about the opponent I am fighting. I should also try to stop treating this guy as a monster but as the sapient that he is. His ax technique is not to deal with monsters like the ones I have fought in the past but it is meant to take on other sapients which also caught me off guard leading to the loss in the first confrontation.
As I am forming another strategy in my mind while keeping a close look on the Death knight he speaks up, “Are you done analyzing yet, I do believe it's time we get back to our battle.” With his final words spoken he just disappears.
I am dumbfounded wondering if he used invisibility or something else of the sort until the newest skill that I have just gained, [Gravitational Presence Sense] shows its usefulness for once. It gives me the feeling that there is a new source of gravity behind me. So I responded by not looking back but instead using [Gravity Magic] to lighten me and I jump forward dodging the strike from behind. While still in the air I release the magic and turn around just as I land I am facing the Death knight again.
I stare at him as if borrowing a hole through him trying to rack my mind on what could have done what he has just done. Moving behind me without a sound so it could not be invisible like I first thought, so maybe it is teleportation like blink. My eyes widen at the thought, does this mean that he also has an affinity towards the Spatial Element… No, he couldn't have, he most likely has the blink skill, even though it is a trap in the system for those who have no affinity towards space.
Now that my thoughts have settled again I charge towards the Death knight again a new plan had formed within my mind and I know what needs to be done. I lighten myself causing me to move faster with my sword also being lightened to cause more momentum into my strikes. When I come into range of his ax, I repeat my action not letting up the lighting magic through. When he moves to grab my blade again, underestimating me after our first confrontation I slipped around him by changing my gravitational direction for the second, landing in a zone where he is open to my strikes. Caught off guard it is obvious in my eyes that he'll end up getting hit by my strike. To my surprise, though he just disappears again, I quickly look behind expecting to see him once again but find him standing a distance away.

This got me wondering, is he like the people with sword aura or magic blades able to do attacks that extend from their weapons. I also ponder, if blink is considered such a bad skill, why does it seem so powerful in the hand of this death knight? Does he actually have space affinity? No, I don’t believe that he has such a high-ranking affinity and has only used it for such simple tasks like teleporting around, even if it is one of the main features of the affinity.
“Are you done, because this time I will attack you? So prepare yourself.” With his words concluded he disappeared. Expecting this I turn around expecting to see the Death knight but instead, I am met with nothing. This sends a shiver down my spine not knowing where he is, is going to be my downfall. Trying to use the unreliable ability of [Gravitational Presence Sense] to find his location, and I get nothing. God I hate not understanding skills, I wish just using them would help level them up but no you must gain an understanding of a skill to level it up.
While ranting in my mind I hear a cough from behind. I whirl around seeing the Death knight right in front of me coughing into his hand to get my attention. “Are you going easy on me or did I just overestimate the power of you? If that is so, I would like to apologize sincerely,”
I feel an anger rise up in me with the words of the Death knight. Does he really think I have gone all out? All I have done were basic probing attacks. Maybe I was a little distracted with my personal monologue but this does not give him the right to judge me with such prejudices. I'm going to tear that armor open and stomp the living shit out of the skeleton that hides within, or maybe it's a higher death knight and partly looks like his original form? Well, I don't care I will still stomp the shit out of him till all there is dust!
I finish in my mind screaming at him. I raise the tip of my rapier and start to concentrate a concentrated mass of gravity mana on it. When it reaches a point the gravity mana drawls in everything increasing its mass, intern increasing the gravity mana. With a thought I fire it, it pulls all in even the air causes this screeching noise. Yet that still does not matter the real point of this attack is because it sucks in space with it, so the fucking Death knight won't be able to blink through it dodging the attack once more.
“Now this is a real attack!” the Death knight screams at the top of his lungs, with me barely even being able to hear it. He brings up his ax, it starts to distort all around it and he swings it forward. The ax looks like he hit a barrier cause something started to crack. It was the air itself. No, it was something more, it was space. With that finally clicking in my mind, the crack completely shatters leaving a hole of nothingness where it once was. As if it was a bat, the Death knight swings his other ax that looks more real than real, he punts the nothingness into the gravity well causing it to go inside. This does not stop the nothingness though so I still have to jump out of the way to avoid it and it then gets sent a flying pass to who knows where.
That is not occupied with, instead, I'm completely surprised that he owns space affinity. Space Affinity is so rare it is barely seen in 1 in a billion. It is so rare that even the notion that I am even seeing one let only fighting him is so surprising it leaves me in shock. So for a few seconds, I just stand there like a statue, My mouth almost unhinging.
