The cat looked around the kitchen but there was no food out in the open. It sucked balls but this is reality. Humans always stored their food somewhere with a knob.

The cat cursed its catness for.being unable to get open the metal pantry door.

The cat couldn't just go back with nothing for itself. It thought of taking something at least.

Then, it had a brilliant idea! The house is way warmer outside so how about it would sneak into a room and sleep. Yes, it may just work except: the doors are closed...

Again, it cursed mentally on how cats didn't have hands.

It went back into the fireplace to get away from this place but the bricks were too strong to claw through.

Looks like our main character would wait until dawn.
