《The Assassin Chronicles: Part I》Mac

Mac swung her machete with all her might. The vamp's face froze in a menacing growl before its head slowly slid from its neck. She flicked her wrist, slinging blood from the blade. Her twin sister, Iryal, had taken out nearly all the rest of the nest in the time it had taken her to take down one. She turned to her sister. Before she could say a word, two men burst through the remains of the door. She and Iri quickly hid themselves in the partially open bunker-like room disguised as a bookcase.
Holy fuck, one muttered.
We need to get out before they see us, she murmured in Japanese.
We cannot leave without them seeing us, you know that as well as I do, Iri hissed to her in Russian.
They never spoke in English to one another, much less the same language, while on a mission. It confused the target and made them sloppy. Yet, they were still able to communicate well because they knew the same languages. Their Uncle Rom had insisted on it.
Looks like we're a little late to the party, Sammy, one of the men said with a whistle.
The other man chuckled slightly.
But Dean, who could have killed a nest this size alone? the one called Sammy asked.
Becasue I'm not alone! Iryal muttered in English this time.
If she was speaking English, she was well and truly pissed off. That was not a good sign.
Iri, shut up before they hear you! Mac hissed again in Japanese.
But Iri wasn't paying attention to her.Her attention was focused on the vampire they'd somehow managed to miss.
Iri no! she growled but it was too late, Iri was in motion.
The men turned to her sister in surprise.
Damn, Mac didn't know which one of the men had spoken.
Are you trying to get yourselves killed?!? Iri demanded slinging blood from her blades.

Um, who are you? the one called Sammy, she thought, asked.
It doesn't matter who I am! Iri snapped shoving one of her blades behind her.
She then turned and in one swift, clean move cut the head off of the vampire that had been standing behind her.
If I am not mistaken, you are Iryal Asha and she is McKayla. He gestured to where she was hiding.
Neither she nor Iri, for that matter, had seen the third man.
Jesus fucking Christ! Iryal cursed turning to him with her Glock raised.
Shoot me if you must but I am an angel of the Lord, I cannot die.
Then don't go sneaking up on people, you dumbass!
Iryal snapped lowering her weapon. And your vessel sure as fuck can die, angel. Where the hell did you find him? Angelrejects.com?
Hell? Did she not hear me when I said I was an angel of the Lord? The third man asked the first two.
Mac rolled her eyes, even as her sister muttered curses in six of the languages she knew. Mac left her hiding place and made her way to the group.
Frogive my sister's impudence, she sighed. She's not the best at controlling her temper. My advice is to avoid making her angry, when she's armed, at all costs.
Move! Iri ordered her in Korean.
Mac did as ordered. Not doing so would result in death, if not by her sister then by one of her uncles. Iri's machete impaled itself in the head of another vampire.
I swear you are going to get yourself killed one of these days if you're not more careful, Mac Iri chastised her in Japanese while simultaneously removing her machete and beheading the vampire. Your talent doesn't lie in killing the monsters. That's my area of expertise. You should probably stick to researching and potion making.
Eh, you'd probably charge in like a bull in a china shop if it weren't for me, Mac laughed in Gullah.

By now, the men were giving them strange looks. That probably stemmed from the fact that Mac and Iri were switching languages with every sentence they spoke to on another. They sighed. Explaining why they spoke in different languages to each other was something they fervently hated doing.
We shouldn't tell them anything, Iri, you know that, Mac whispered in Swahili.
I'm well aware of what we should and should not tell these men, Mac. However, if we do not tell them something, we'll end up being taken along with them and you know what Uncle Rom would say. Iri sighed in Basque. But you realize the angel over there can most definitely understand whatever we say regardless of the language we use?
Mac watched her sister pinch the bridge of her nose, something she only did when she was extremely frustrated. Movement behind them drew Iri's attention back to the task at hand.
I'd stop right there if I were you she told the vampire who'd been trying to sneak up on them. Then again I'm not you.
The vampire hissed something unintelligible to everyone's ears. But her sister seemed to have heard it.
Say it again, I dare you Iri growled raising and cocking her Glock.
You will live to regret this! The woman hissed in Aramaic.
Iri raised an eyebrow. Mac stared at the woman in mute surprise.
Oh really? Iri asked cockily. Her switch to Aramaic seemed to have surprised the vampire. And how do you plan on doing that without a head, my dear?
Iri's voice was sickly sweet and that scared Mac more than when she was growling. She was far more dangerous when she was like this.
He will find you. You cannot hide from the dragon. The woman had said the last word in Romanian and confirmed their source's suspiscions. Someone here knew something about Vlad.
Iri threw her a look over her shoulder with a smug smirk tugging at her lips. She nodded to Mac, who began to bind the vampire with a series of incantations.
What the hell is going on here? the man called Dean demanded.
It seems to be some kind of binding ritual, the one called Sam replied.
Binding ritual? Why the hell would they bind a vamp instead of ganking her? What did she say that was so imporant? Dean shouted.
Before anyone could react, Iryal had him pinned to the wall with an arm across his throat. Mac rolled her eyes and shook her head at her sister but continued binding the vampire.
You will keep silent! Iri ordered Dean. She hated leading but she loved giving orders. And you will cease asking questions for which there can be no answers for you.
Then tell me why did the woman switch from Aramaic to Romanian on the last word? The angel asked.
You really don't know? Iri asked looking between the three men.
The angel shook his head.
Tell me what the Romanian word was, she ordered.
Mac shook her head bemused.
Dracul, the angel replied.
No one seemed to have any idea the significance of that one word.
Only one person in history had that name. Iri told them. His name was Vlad Tepes. But he was better known as Vlad the Impaler or Vlad Dracula. Dracul means evil one in Romanian. But it came to mean dragon as well, since the language had no word for it at the time. Honestly, didn't you learn about Vlad the Impaler in history class?
Mac shook her head. It was unlikely anyone had learned as much about Vlad Tepes as they had. Iri had been facinated by him for years before they learned he was an immortal vampire.

Cary Simms: The Fairy Mushroom Forest
From a young age, Cary Simms knew that she wasn't like the other boys her age. She didn't know why or how that was, but it seemed apparent to the bullies of her school. They would often call her names, chase after her after school, and beat her up when they could catch her. Her only protection, besides escape, was in the words of the Good Book. But that was before she stumbled into the supposedly haunted house at the end of her street. When a mysterious ring and a drawing on the back wall of the post office opened up a whole new world for her, things quickly went from weird to scary. At a new school, in a new world, surrounded by people who had access to magic, all Cary could think of was how to escape the witches that had her trapped there. It was only having her best friend by her side that gave her any comfort at all. ***This is my first attempt at a middle grade book, and would appreciate feedback. Please note, this is a second draft, and might not represent the final product.***

8 130The book of forever
An experimental diary of sorts recounting my life and experiences, written as a slightly whimsical scifi story about setting off from the past to unknown lands, rebuilding from nothing and finding myself again. The first section of the book contains matched chapters, a chapter for a interlude, both happening at the same time roughly The second section of the book contains more one off stories as we follow one of the travelers explore their heart as well as a unknown land, growing in the process. All of the text here was written in 10 syllable chunks, this reads like a epic of sorts, just with more philosophical focus and POV jumps. Hope you enjoy! >Updates may be sporadic as I only write when I have something about myself I want to share The chapters can all be read individually, although there may be some crossovers between them they work as single poems. You start at whatever chapter you want since these are a collection of roughly connected poems (although you'll notice tie ins and references to eachother)

The territory of Palmetto, ragged and mean, was once the banishing lands for the kings of the Old World. The event known as the Papercut Revolution closed the First Era. The new dawn rose on The Directory, who took the yoke of power into their responsible hands and began to bring forth their Good Era.
