“So, I need you to plant this bad boys here, here, oh, over here, too, and… maybe I should buy a couple more” Wise contemplated as he scratched the back of his head.
“Three of these isn’t enough” He followed it up by picking his nose with his pinky finger.
It’s been a few days since we first met, and all I can say is, he’s very carefree. Or well, he’s too whimsical for his own good, I think. Not quite the regal individual that I imagined someone like him to be.
“Hold on, I need to go find that guy before he leaves with his wonderful merchandise. Be right back in a jiffy” He said that as he ran outside of the place that we were staying at.
I was now all cleaned up and with brand new clothes courtesy of Wise to go along with it. And a proper meal and bedding was so heavenly that I couldn’t contain my tears. Ah, what a delightful feeling a pillow gives when you sleep.
My hair was still long, though, and I don’t trust any barbers in this city where it was just one cut to the throat away from being dead. So, the next best thing that I have for a proper hair was a black plastic headband that Wise managed to scavenge inside his abyss of a bag.
I take care of my subordinates
Is what he said to me a few hours ago. It was nice, although I would have preferred if he didn’t follow it up with his unpredictable quirkiness.
“Ah, I almost forgot my cane” He kicked the door open and rushed back inside to get the symbol of his status, and then immediately went out again.
Now that I was a part of his ‘Pieces', all I need to do now was to get stronger and protect the King. And by strong, I mean rack up some points, and the easiest way to do that is to get yourself famous or by doing something that the system would classify as an achievement. It sounded easier when I say it, though, but when almost everyone around you is strong to the point of stupidity, then how strong do you need to get to protect someone else?

I waited there for a few minutes until Wise came back all drenched, but he had this half-moon smile plastered across his face. He then tosses the remote explosives onto the bed without an ounce of gentleness.
A little bit of care was in need when handling such dangerous things, but I can’t reprimand my King. He must know what he’s doing.
“Do you think you could survive if I strap this things onto you?” He said that as he went over to his bag and took out a towel to wipe himself.
“I don’t… I don’t think so”
He… he must be finding other alternatives. That’s it. What if the plan suddenly fails and we get caught? Obviously we need to use a little leverage, and by that, I mean strapping the explosives onto me and using me as a… human… shield. Hmm…
“Ah, well, it was worth a shot” He shrugs.
“So, we’ll go with what we planned first, then. We’re going to demolish the city hall by destroying it’s pillars from underneath”
I would have rejected his idea because innocent people might get hurt even though it was an order from my King, but this place doesn’t deserve any mercy whatsoever. This place was a magnetic shit hole for the powerless and weak, and the hunting grounds of the underachievers and sadists. The garbage city were the damned and unwanted are thrown into. Hades' Black Anus of the North, Sunnydale.
“And we’re doing it tomorrow” He grinned. “Good luck in planting this bad boys, though”
“Why?”
“I already left a large note in front of the city hall of what we’re going to do tomorrow when I went out, so they’ve tightened the security around the place by a notch as of right now. You know, a whole lot of people patrolling and whatnot”

“W-why can't you inform them after I placed the explosives… Wise?” In the first place, why did he did he have to inform them?
He looked at me as if the answer to my question was obvious. “I don’t want to go out and get wet anymore. Can't you see it’s pouring hard outside?”
…
Fuck.

Mage Among Superheroes
Turlough is a mage. He also happens to be an orc, generally lauded as being less intelligent than humans. He was unfortunately born with the Curse of the Barbarian, meaning that he can’t level up except through combat- which greatly hinders his ability to show he can be a proper mage. In a world with necromancers, dragons, invading armies, and all sorts of other monsters he would still be able to advance quickly, but unfortuantely… that world is not his world. An unprecedented peace reigns across the land, and in the last several decades there’s been little use for people capable of fighting- and thus little reason for people to fight him. So when he sees a portal in his master’s study he takes it, hoping to find a horde of demons or something equally foolish to combat at low level. But instead he ends up in a strange city full of skyscrapers and people running around in colorful outfits. Superheroes- and of course supervillains as well. What dangers and opportunities could await him in such a strange and unfamiliar world? Only time will tell. Inspired by many things in the superhero genre, and Super Minion specifically- though while the setting will share some standard elements, it is an original setting that will hopefully be as engaging as many of the other universes. Schedule: One chapter each Monday/Thursday, approx. 2000 words.

Birthday
Treasure hunting Ersel steals an effigy she thinks might pay off her family's debts. Problem is, the effigy is alive, and he's a bit of a narcissist. (This is a story I wrote back in 2015. It is half finished, though I was planning on picking it up as I promised myself I'd finish it after I submitted another piece to a publisher, which I did.) ((Oh and skip the first chapter))

As the daughter of a renowned War Hero, Shaya was destined for a life of heroism and glory. A life she desired more than anything else – until her mother sacrificed herself for the cause and the very Empire she died for stole Shaya’s dreams from her. Cunning and resourceful, Shaya worked hard to keep her and her brother safe, clawing themselves out of a system set against them and gaining the power they needed to find their way in life again. Now, she’s achieved the first step of her dreams: she's been accepted to the prestigious Imperial Academy of War and Magic. In order to become the best gods damned Warmage around, all she has to do is overcome the Imperial system that wants to see her fail and control the demonic blood in her veins that wants for nothing but rage and violence. ...but hey, every obstacle is an opportunity to exploit – if you’re willing to think smart and work hard. Updates Sunday - Tuesday - Thursday![successful participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Rating: This should align pretty closely with your typical MCU movie, so PG-13 for scenes of fantasy violence. There'll be gore and some swearing but not much beyond that. If that changes, I'll warn you. MC: Shaya is analytical, but begins the story emotional and impulsive. She leans towards rationality and uses this to control her demonic impulses to the best of her abilities. She begins the story as a somewhat capable protagonist, but grows in power steadily through hard work and diligence. Fights: ...I like fight scenes. They’re going to be detailed, but I won’t drown you in description of individual hand movements or footwork. I like fights that can be solved like puzzles by the audience, where creative thinking wins the day using tools you know the protagonist has at their disposal.
