Unknown Location
Aeleus POV
After hitting accept on the window, Aeleus’s whole world went dark before he felt a powerful tugging motion on his body, and got pulled towards it. To passerby’s it only looked like Aeleus had logged out, but no one realized what had truly happened.
“Ugh” Aeleus said as his vision returned and his stomach was churning.
“What was that… I feel like I want to throw up” said Aeleus as he got up and looked around him for the first time.
“Where am I?” was what was going through Aeleus’s brain at this moment. He saw a huge pure black building in front on him and skulls on spears. The building looked like it came straight out a horror movie, there was even thunder in the background.
“Ah, sorry about that. That feeling should go away in about 5 minutes.” said a mysterious voice.
Aeleus quickly looked around, “Who said that?”
The voice laughed, “ I apologize, I forgot that my body is normally invisible in this place”
In front of Aeleus, the same man dressed in all black appeared, and Aeleus quickly recognized him.
“Your the guy that told me to join this clan, aren’t you?” Aeleus said.
“That’s right, my name is Lord Farin of Veinholm” said Farin.
“Veinholm?” Aeleus said.
“I’ve never heard of Veinholm before” he said with a confused look over his face.
Farin bitterly laughed, “That’s because I am the only person alive after the destruction of Veinholm. What you see here” he gestured with his hand, “ is only an image of one of the houses in Veinholm.”

“What happened to Veinholm?” Aeleus said
Farin perked up, “ Veinholm was a place for people who wished to study the dark arts to experiment and further their knowledge. However, many students used the dark arts to manipulate others and rise to power. The king of Da’er was one who used this power for the wrong purpose.”
Aeleus noticing an important fact quickly spoke up, “The king? Didn’t you say you were the only remaining person alive to be from Veinholm?”
Farin once again laughed, “The library of Veinholm was open to all who wished to learn, and the king was only a visitor. In fact, it was because of him that the once glorious country of Veinholm was destroyed”
" What did he do that was so bad?” Aeleus asked with a inquisitive look on his face.
Farin looked at him and said “He took over the mind of a dragon”
“A dragon?” Aeleus asked with a frown on his face.
“Aren’t they the strongest beings on this lands?”
“That’s right, and the dragons are a very prideful species. Having one of their brother’s mind taken over did not rest well with them.” Farin said before adding, “And it became even worse when the dragons found out that the Dragon the king took over, was the newborn son of the king.
“The dragons, quickly determined who was the person responsible for this and tracked him down." Farin said
Farin sighed and resumed his tale, "But, instead of trying to hide, the king came back to Veinholm. The dragons arrived soon after and burned the country to the ground."
"Wait, wait, wait" Aeleus quickly said.
"How did both you and the king survive this?"
Farin laughed, but this laugh wasn't a happy laugh, but a sad hollow one instead.

"I was born on the 3rd of Rungar(Month) at 10 zil exactly. The gods cursed me so that I would be reborn after I die."
"So isn't that a good thing?" Aeleus asked
"No, it turned me into the monster I am today." Farin replied angrily, and pulled his hood down.
"Your... your a skeleton" said Aeleus shocked.
"Yes, that's correct." Farin said
Aeleus suddenly realized something very important.
"How did the King survive then?" he asked.
"The king was a huge knowledge-seeker, and found an Ancient spell to absorb a dead persons soul, increasing his life. He used this spell the instant people started to die, and by the time the dragons left, and the fires put out, he absorbed tens of thousands of souls, and remained alive."
Aeleus's mouth dropped, "That's... Inhumane"
"I agree" Farin said
"So, in exchange for knowledge, I want you to kill the King of Da'er." Farin continued.
Aeleus looked around the ruined buildings and smiled almost unnoticeably and said, " I accept."
Quest: Kill the King of Da'er
Objective: Kill the king of Da'er, the one responsible for the destruction of Veinholm.
Quest Rank: B
Rewards: ????
Accept? Decline?
"A B-rank quest?" Aeleus exclaimed
"I need to be at least level 60 before I have the chance to kill this King."
"As long as you fulfill this request, knowledge will be yours" Farin said
Aeleus looked at the screen in front of him and without needing more time to think about it, hit accept.
"Let's kill this guy and avenge Veinholm" he said.

Somewhere Far Away
Unknown POV
"My lord, the young warrior named Aeleus has joined hands with the last of Veinholm" said the servant kneeling before a throne.
"Are you sure?" The man on the throne said.
"I wouldn't forget that face anywhere, it's him my lord" thr servant said.
"Hmm" the man said standing up.
"Send Velroth after him. I want to end this nuisance before he can poses a threat to me" the man said before he sat down once again.
"By your will, my lord" the servant said, before he noticed a lack of sound.
The servant quickly walked to a nearby window and yelled to a man outside, "Why are these peasants not honoring the lord!" In an angry voice.
The man shivered in fright before shouting to the crowd on their knees, "You heard him, you maggots! Praise the King!"
"ALL PRAISE TO THE KING OF DA'ER" the crowd repeatedly said while kneeling and putting their heads on the ground.

For Grass and Glory
Being old is difficult. But losing the love of your life to natural selection and being left in the dirt is even harder. Join Walton in his final journey as he figures out if his principals are just as important when there is nothing left to lose. Combating hypocrisy, youth, bad diet practises and a general lack of respect towards humanity, Walton's struggles are the true adventure of the everyday man. A story about unlikely friendship, being old, unexpected beauty, and the obsession of kicking a round leather ball in the best way possible. A story about a new world, and its possibilities. A story about the grass, and let us hope, a small bit of glory? Author note: This is a project of mine I started in 2016 and recently been writing for again. Writing for me is something I love to do, but can't always find the time for. This is also the reason I have not finished (or come close to) Ethereal Space yet. I get distracted. I started this novel intending to create something else, to break a bit with the current go to's story wise in the litRPG or virtual reality communities. So, this is my attempt at "Something different" I would love feedback or just your general opinion. But most of all, I hope it entertains. Enjoy!
