《A Peaceful World》chapter 3 - white fluffy death

“why me?”
Quill sighed as he looked around to see if there’s a chance of escape. Seeing the wolves coming closer towards him it is clear the wolves have already spotted him and it’s clearly impossible to outrun a wolf. Gripping his newly carved rock in his right hand Quill has only one thought in his mind.
’If i’m gonna die then i’m at least taking one down with me’
Quite a foolish thought but he didn’t care at the moment. He came to this game to get some peace from other people but now the creatures in the game are getting in his way as well. Annoyed at this, most of the logical reasoning in his head has vanished.
Quill rushed at the closest wolf while screaming. He swung his pointed rock only to hit air. Pain fills his left arm as he sees the wolf biting town on it. screaming yet again from both adrenaline and pain he swung down the pointed rock stabbing the eye of the wolf. The wolf howls in pain as it let go of his arm. He strikes the wolf again while screaming but with more pain than adrenaline. The other two wolves have attacked his thighs digging their teeth in. His vision start to blur as he sees the wolf in front of him collapse. seeing this, the goal he set out to do with these wolves accomplished. he collapsed onto his back accepting his death. Staring at the blue sky awaiting his death he wondered why he did not realise the sky was so beautiful. The pain was starting to ease
’at least the pain gets numb as you approach death, at least this game did something nice’
His vision starts to get blurrier as it turns from the blue sky to pure white. His body starts to feel heavy but it wasn't unbearable, more like a light pressure.
’wait a minute, this white i’m seeing, it looks… furry...and feels warm and fluffy’
Quill realising something odd bolts up and his vision turns from white fluffiness back the the green forest. Looking down on his lap he sees the source of the white fluff vision, a rabbit along with the green gloop from before.
“I’m... alive?”
Quill then looks around him and sees two wolves but something is off about them. They are thrashing about and have white things sticking out of them in contrast to their grey fur. Quill instantly realised what they were for he had one a moment ago, rabbits.

Quill quickly gets up sending the rabbit on his lap flying and picks up his only weapon, the pointed rock and charges at one of the wolves and swung down at the grey parts trying to avoid hitting any rabbits. The wolf thrashing increased even more, the wolf wasn’t dead just yet. Quill kept stabbing this wolf till it finally collapsed then repeated the process on the second wolf.
With all three wolves dead Quill could finally relax. There were some rabbits that died but most lived. Quill now waited for the notifications to come up again to signify the end of the battle and it did.
messages has been re-enabled as combat as ended
For protecting the rabbits from their predators when you were clearly weaker than the predators twice you have gained familiarity with the rabbits
Familiarity with Rabbits increased by 20
For being willing to die while protecting the rabbits from predators more than once and even taking one of the predators down with you, you have earned the title ‘Rabbit Guardian
’Rabbit guardian? maybe that's why they came to save me? or maybe it was the familiarity? or a bit of both? who knows how this odd game works… am I destined to be with rabbits for the rest of this games life?’
For having medicinal herbs applied to your wounds your natural regeneration has increased by 200%
you have learnt the Stab skill
Quill looks at the rabbits around him as some come to heal his wounds giving him some more time to think.
’Putting aside the whole rabbit thing, another skill, this is my second one but I have no way of checking what they actually do. Carving is quite straightforward, increases my ability to carve but stab, increasing my ability to stab? Or is it a skill you activate? No menus really make this game difficult. And another thing, the first wolf died after two hits so why did the other wolves take much more?’
“ah”
’the first wolf was the previous wolf from before so it was already damaged and if you include the possibility that the wolves have varying strengths then it makes sense… sort of’
while lost in thought Quill hears the sound of growling very close to him, too close in fact, close to the point that it’s his stomach
’better go get something to eat… wait, am I game world hungry or real world hungry...game world, the capsule does that for me’
After the treatment by the rabbits is over Quill stood and went towards one of the wolves and stared at it for a moment.

“well food is food”
Quill moved the wolf onto its back and brought his pointed rock close to it
’the first thing is to gut it right?
Quill very carefully cut down down the stomach with much difficulty but managed to open up the wolf without many problems arising. Inside were all the organs you expect to see in the wolf such as the heart and other essential organs.
’I can’t believe how real they made this for a game… I might be sick’
Quill held the need to vomit as his gag reflexes were acting up. After a bit of calming down he was able to continue. He first tried to just take the organs out by hand only to fail immensely as the blood starts to spurt
“ahhh, that was bad, that was bad!” Quill shouted trying to put the organ back into the wolf. After that failure Quill decided that wasn’t the way to gut a wolf.
’maybe I should have drained the blood first’
Quill then made a slit on an artery by its neck to try and drain it of the blood by picking up the wolf and shaking it to try to get every last bit of blood out only to fail miserably and make a bloody mess.
“i’m definitely researching on how to do this properly when I log out”
Laying the half drained corpse of the wolf onto the bloody mess in front of him, he starts cutting organs out of the body while every now and then causing a mess due to inexperience but did manage to remove the bladder without rupturing it gladly enough.
After all organs were removed he started try and skin the wolf. He first looked at his previous cut to the skin and decided to start from there. He attempted to cut in between the muscle and the skin in order to get the legs out of the skin and proceeded to do this with the rest of the body. There were parts where he dug too deep and had chunks of meat still on the skin or accidentally punctured the skin so it was a very badly done job.
’well, it’s good enough for my first attempt… at least it wasn’t as bad as my gutting attempt’
He looked what was left of the wolf. Ii was simply just meat stuck onto bones and that was when he realised a very crucial thing.
“...I can’t cook… I need a god damn fire!”
After quill calms down he goes searching for materials for a fire. After half an hour of searching he managed to find a bundle of dry leaves, some twigs, a few sticks and a really thick branch. Quill puts the thick branch on the floor and uses his pointed rock to drill a small hole into the branch. The dry leaves were put on top of the hole while a stick was inserted into the hole through them. Quill then used his hands to spin the stick and grind it against the branch in hope of some sparks.
’This may have only worked once for me while camping but lets hope the game will help me’
After a while of doing this a spark finally appeared and embers lit on the leaves, Quill started blowing on the leaves to get oxygen to the embers and eventually the embers turned into a flame.
“yes! finally, I can cook”
you have learnt the FireMaking skill
Quill briefly looked at the message without it processing it in his mind as he was elated over his success and is too hungry to care at the same time.
“time for food!”
Quill went over to what’s left of the wolf and cut some meat off, put a stick through it and cooked it over the fire. The meat was tough and wasn’t as good as beef or chicken but it was still good, it’s meat after all.
When Quill finished eating his fill he looked over towards the rabbits to only see a group of rabbits all in a line facing him with leaves, berries and carrots laid out in front of them as if presenting them to him.
“seriously… after all that… and I…”
Quill looks down for a moment, takes a long breath in and
“fuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaa!”
Quill takes a few deep breaths to calm himself down. He then begins to think of what he should do next
’should I continue to make comfier clothes? I got wolf pelt now for clothing but thats the thing, wolves, there might be more. Should I prioritise defending myself and try to make a more useful weapon? or should I skin the other wolves now before they start to rot? do they rot? how realistic is this game going to take this? probably very with the wolves anatomy but I do want to research how to skin and gut them properly first… alright i’ll log off, learn how to skin and gut animals then log back on before my sisters realise i’m out of the game then skin the wolves…wait a minute… log out… how do I log out?’
“fuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaaa!”
