《Idealism》The Spectrum (2)

"Maybe this Spectrum is too broad. I'll try to break it down further, into different situaitions and scenarios." Joseph said, and went about drawing on the paper.

"How about decision making. In any decision made, there will always be..."

"...those that agree, those that disagree, and those that abstain. Let's break down the agree-rs. and the disagree-rs."

"The agree-rs and disagree-rs are almost carbon copies of each other, mrror matches. First, we have the radicals. They are those that firmly believe that the decision made is correct. It takes a lot of effort to pry them away. Then we have the dragged-in-by-default, let's go by DBD. The DBDs are those who follow the people they know. 'Oh, a family member voted this? Guess I'll follow.' They want to throw away the responsibility of making a decision because they don't want to be the one to blame if the decision fails. A lot of people feel that way. Maybe their reason is different, who knows?"

Joseph licked his lips and continued.

"But then there's another layer above this. I'll get to that later." Joseph draws another bar above this bar.

"As we approach the abstainers, the amount of confidence the people place in their agree-ing or disagree-ing wavers. The confidence falters. They falter. What we want is to influence all the abstainers and those whose confidence isn't very strong into following our decision, because that takes the least effort. But then of course, we also need to sway the layer above."

Joseph tiptoes and writes in the above bar, 'exploiters'.

"It doesn't really matter whether they agree or disagree. The exploiters simply wants to capitlise on the struggle made by the people in the bar below. You can be part of both bars, but the exploiters will never exploit themselves. Uh.... an example could be the media. Anytime something happens, the exploiters rile things up in order to gain the most. It doesn't matter whether its a truth or half-truth or an outright lie. As long as the people in the bar below give those in the bar above their attention, the bar above will be able to sway them left or right or even fluctuate in that direction, all to earn more. But lets get back to the agree-rs and disagree-rs."

"There is another Sector in both the disagree-rs and the agree-rs. Uh, the disagree-rs and agree-rs are both Groups, as well as the abstainers. The three are both Groups. So there's a sector in both the dis and the agree-s which I will call secret-opposites. They actually vote for the other but they are pressurised into following by a force of authority. We need to ensure that everyone gets their free will to vote properly, even if its against."

"Now we get to the abstainers. First we have the Sector of no-responsibilities. They are the same type as the DBDs in that they don't want to be blamed in case of shit hitting the fan. I understand that. We need to sway this Sector. Then we have the, uh... I haven't really fleshed out this part yet. you okay with that, Lawson? Lawson?"

Lawson was asleep.
