《Idealism》The Spectrum (2)

"Maybe this Spectrum is too broad. I'll try to break it down further, into different situaitions and scenarios." Joseph said, and went about drawing on the paper.
"How about decision making. In any decision made, there will always be..."
sfx: marker on paper sounds
"...those that agree, those that disagree, and those that abstain. Let's break down the agree-rs. and the disagree-rs."
"The agree-rs and disagree-rs are almost carbon copies of each other, mrror matches. First, we have the radicals. They are those that firmly believe that the decision made is correct. It takes a lot of effort to pry them away. Then we have the dragged-in-by-default, let's go by DBD. The DBDs are those who follow the people they know. 'Oh, a family member voted this? Guess I'll follow.' They want to throw away the responsibility of making a decision because they don't want to be the one to blame if the decision fails. A lot of people feel that way. Maybe their reason is different, who knows?"
Joseph licked his lips and continued.
"But then there's another layer above this. I'll get to that later." Joseph draws another bar above this bar.
"As we approach the abstainers, the amount of confidence the people place in their agree-ing or disagree-ing wavers. The confidence falters. They falter. What we want is to influence all the abstainers and those whose confidence isn't very strong into following our decision, because that takes the least effort. But then of course, we also need to sway the layer above."
Joseph tiptoes and writes in the above bar, 'exploiters'.
"It doesn't really matter whether they agree or disagree. The exploiters simply wants to capitlise on the struggle made by the people in the bar below. You can be part of both bars, but the exploiters will never exploit themselves. Uh.... an example could be the media. Anytime something happens, the exploiters rile things up in order to gain the most. It doesn't matter whether its a truth or half-truth or an outright lie. As long as the people in the bar below give those in the bar above their attention, the bar above will be able to sway them left or right or even fluctuate in that direction, all to earn more. But lets get back to the agree-rs and disagree-rs."

"There is another Sector in both the disagree-rs and the agree-rs. Uh, the disagree-rs and agree-rs are both Groups, as well as the abstainers. The three are both Groups. So there's a sector in both the dis and the agree-s which I will call secret-opposites. They actually vote for the other but they are pressurised into following by a force of authority. We need to ensure that everyone gets their free will to vote properly, even if its against."
"Now we get to the abstainers. First we have the Sector of no-responsibilities. They are the same type as the DBDs in that they don't want to be blamed in case of shit hitting the fan. I understand that. We need to sway this Sector. Then we have the, uh... I haven't really fleshed out this part yet. you okay with that, Lawson? Lawson?"
Lawson was asleep.

8 427Restart (Reborn as a Reluctant Demon Lord, Book 2)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is book 2 of the series! If you haven't read book 1 (which you can find here https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/34776/new-game-reborn-as-a-reluctant-demon-lord-book) then you should probably do that first to avoid spoiling yourself in the synopsis. But that's just a suggestion. If you want to be confused, go ahead. Have I used enough space so that you can't see this in the preview yet? Okay, good. ----- For a [Demon Lord], not even death is the end. So, after death, I found myself revived once again in the world of Placeholder as a grotesque monstrosity. That was my first reincarnation, but it would not be anywhere near my last. Disillusioned with the admins and their quests, and wanting nothing more than to fix the mistakes of my past, I set out with a new goal in mind. To bring back the woman I loved. Or maybe... to ensure that she never died in the first place.
8 173Upon Blazing Wings
A distant land. A declining empire. A society where the strong rule over the weak. Li Jie, a destitute boy whose only desire is to cure his ailing mother, desires strength over anything else to prevent himself and his mother from being crushed like insects in the face of the cruel men who inhabit his world. After witnessing his friend being struck a fatal blow by a ruthless cultivator for coming to his rescue, a dormant power lying within Li Jie awakens and offers the boy power in exchange for completing its only request: """"Burn the Heavens to the ground upon your blazing wings!"Witness this story of cultivators and magical beasts, of brutality and friendship, of earth-shaking talent and sky-shattering skill. Witness the legend of Li Jie!-----Upon Blazing Wings is a xianxia (Chinese for """"immortal hero"""") story, taking heavy inspiration from I Shall Seal the Heavens by Er Gen as well as other famous xianxia stories. For those well-versed in the genre, the story should seem familiar. However for those who are new, the culture and technical terms may be bit alien at first. I will possibly post a glossary explaining some of the details if necessary, but hopefully you will be able to explore and understand the world with me as I write about it.
8 97The Paradox Prophecy
Thousands of years ago, an alliance between the races of Idoras and the mighty dragons, saved the world from destruction. After many years of relative peace, a dark evil emerges. Aalya, a young girl from the small kingdom of Avani, meets the young Prince Alexandar. When chaos reigns on their peaceful home, Aalya and her friends gear up for an adventure that could very well determine the fate of all life in Idoras. I haven't completely fleshed out the prophecy yet but I wanted to include it because it is an important part of the story. I have decided it would be better to spend some time figuring out the world I am creating and work out all the kinks in the story. I have done a lot of editing in the first seven chapters already. For now, updating will be scarce. I will post all of part one once I am happy with what I have written. I will leave what I have up, but please let me know what you think. I do not own the image I used for the cover.
8 83Joey's Eternal Torment: The Fairy Princess Saga
Sometimes, bad things happen to bad people. Joey is one of those bad people. She's not incompetent, but she's not a genius either, unless you count partying. Which you shouldn't. Because getting laid the night before your wedding is not the mark of intelligence, nor moral fortitude. FORTUNATELY, the wheel turns, and the day of that wedding, the city is attacked, and Joey is stolen away, in a manner which is entirely painful and appropriate. She is dragged through the portal, and sentenced to Eternal Torment...which just so happens to be very similar to some-nerd-shit RPG video game (Joey's words, not mine). She goes through class and race selection, meets her new people, gets banished by her people, finds a new people, gets in fights with them, and then ends up in the fabled Camie-Town, where she has to work her way up, from the lowest of the low. Eventually, she'll probably get banished from there too. She's not a good person you guys. Alternative Title: Joey's Adventure in Camie-Town. This is a light hearted grim-dark work, Portal Fantasy, with limited LITRPG elements. What’s new Season N1: -No GUI or Convenience Numbers -No XP from Combat & No Levels -Abilities (capped) grow & evolve with use -No More Loot Drops This Season’s Officially Sponsored Evils: -Broken Soul Exchange (Devils) -Punisher Pits (Televised) -Thread Achievement Unlocks & Farming -Shawnies Slaving Hill Tribes This Season’s Officially Approved Wars: -Children of White vs Oceaners -Beastkin vs Village Green -Crystal Throne vs Dry Lands
