James Johnson is a citizen that is of legal age to vote. It is voting day. So he goes to vote.

He looks at the ballot. He doesn't want to vote for Trump. But then he didn't really go and look at the other presidential candidates' arguements either...

He doesn't want to waste his vote.

And then he spots it. Shia LaBeouf Joseph King! Hey! He had heard of this man and his idealistic thinking. You know what, why don't I vote for him, James thinks, and he does so.

It's not his fault that a lot of people is in the same situation as him, and its not his fault that everyone in the same situation did the same thing as him, and its not his fault he re-enacted that story about the man carrying water to the container when he was ordered to bring milk, just with higher stakes.

But this allows the story of Joseph King to truly begin.
