《Machinarium》Chapter 9: [Slaughter]

'The bow is extremely weak. Probably couldnt even penetrate a wolves hide.'
[No, It couldn't penetrate a wolves hide. The best your bowshot construct can be used for is slowing down the enemy.]
'Might as well change the bowshot to a melee construct. Atleast then it would be able to kill things.'
'ISAP, open the upgrade screen on the bowshot!'
The blue screen opens once again, displaying the bowshot.
'Alright'.
I detach the bow from the bowshot and add two of the retracting blades, One on each arm.
[Warning, too many parts for core to handle. Upgrade core of the construct, or remove on part.]
'Fuck. I forgot that it has a part limit.'
'ISAP, how do I get a better core for my constructs?'
[At level 4 you get a better core that can be used for either more weapons/parts, or stronger limbs.]
'Ugh, Alright then.'
The blade on the construct's left arm detaches and disappears.
'ISAP, name this new construct "Scout"'
[Construct named to "Scout", Adding to construct creation screen.]
The construct's arm begins to shake and fall apart, as the ground around it crawls up its leg and turns into a new arm with the retracting blade on it.
'Well, It's not like I have anything in here, so I wont have to have a guard here anyway. Follow me, Scout.'
"Yes leader." The bladed scout construct replies.
"Hey Bula, Do you hate your clan?'
"Well, Obviously. They kicked me out for no reason!" Bula said
"Well then you obviously don't care if I desecrate the clan, right?"
"Of course I dont! Do you know how savage those idiots are?" Bula said angrily
I begin rolling out of the cave again and down the only path there is.

'Ugh, ISAP, is it possible for me to get an actual body? Rolling like this is horrible!'
[You could attach yourself to a construct in place of their core or head. But this is a bad idea.]
'Of course it is. Ugh'
'AAH, How am I going to find Bula's clan? Why did I say I would kill them all? I can barely defend against wolves! Let alone 10 orcs! What am I going to do?'
'Yes! That's it! I need to level up so I can have another construct!'
We backtrack to where i found that giant cannibal rabbit and hide in the bushes.
The same sight as last time, except with a few more cannibal rabbits.
We wait in the bushes for a few hours, and the normal rabbits crawl into some holes.
The cannibal rabbits start to fight eachother, clawing and biting eachothers skin off.
'Go, Kill them!'
The two constructs extend their blades and run after the cannibal rabbits, who stop infighting and start to run towards the constructs.
One cannibal rabbit latches onto the scout construct and wont come off.
The constructs slice the rabbit's heads off with their blade, but their bodies are still moving.
After a few moments, blood erupts from their neck and they fall over, twitching.
One of the constructs pulls the rabbit off of him and slams it against the ground until its a pile of goo.
[Congratulations, you have leveled up! Construct capacity raised by 1!]

Braza the Architect - Magical Crafter, Builder, and Adventurer!
This is the story of an older man who lived a hard but full life, being reincarnated into a fantasy world as a human-lizard hybrid. The new world is violent, magic is real, a game-like development system crushes physics and natural law under its ambivalent thumb, and myth and legend don't just meet, they chase you down to eat you.Follow Braza as he tries to make a very different life for himself in a familiar but ultimately alien world. In this story the protaginist will not just be a muscle bound monster. He is not a proper hero, willing to sacrifice himself for the good of a stranger, but neither is he a maniacal villain. He is trying to survive, and he is trying to give himself and those he deems himself responsible for a seat at the table of the"goodly", the "civilized" races. He is trying to create a secure home for his people, to arrange beneficial trade agreements, explore ancient ruins, decipher ancient runes, push the boundaries of magic to create a better life for everyone around him, to learn about the history of the world and the multiverse, and ultimately attempt to become powerful enough to take on a being that even the gods themselves fear. This is my first story and it blends many different elements and styles. It's a bit darker than most of what I have read on Royal Road, but even with that, I hope you give it a try, and I hope you like it!

The Mentor
This one is for my daughter. She talked me into it (again) and it is her favorite genre of books. So, Bet, this one is for you. The true-bloods, the masters, they came first. That was hammered into Heath's head since he could walk with both words and fists by Karen. As a guardian and half-blood bastard of his vampire father, he would never know peace. His duty as a dhampir, his duty was clear, his fate sealed. Heath was to serve Gerald, an aging Vampire Lord, one who was of pure blood, born to the race, until Heath outlived his prime and then he would pass on the knowledge that was passed to him onto a new bastard to carry protecting the bloodline. But was it necessarily his fate? Could a sterile half breed such as himself, someone who did not exist in the human world, live anywhere in the world on the light? After a particularly nasty encounter with his Mentor, Heath is on the run. Set on not becoming the new guardian and knowing that decision has now marked him for death. The hunt is on and somewhere behind him is Joshua, the heir of his Master, and the thing that plagues his nightmare, his Mentor Karen.
